switched to here from the factory image, and I really like it so far. Good job
Brightness control seems not working
Feb 25 build has been running great so far. Very smooth and I like the simplicity of the build. The only glitch so far is the brightness control. Once the the adaptive mode was turned off, the manual mode did not work at all. After reboot, the manual worked fine until adaptive was turned on and off again. Any idea? Many thanks.

I'll check later. Honestly, I never turn off adaptive so I can neither confirm or deny...

I did have a clean flash but it looks like the screen filter may have messed up with the control. Thanks for heads up, really appreciate much.
Google app error
When i switch to voice input at any time I'm getting this error message. On the latest build, clean flash. No idea why, I've checked all the settings under language and input and all seem to be fine.

After thinking about it for some time I decided to retire the ROM. Stability issues with my phone (hardware wise) and with the ROM, coupled with lack of spare time, I decided to retire my trusty desire and the ROM. I thanks everyone for the kind words and thanks to the people who donated. Everything is very appreciated.
Kind regards,
Marange

The is the patchrom build of MIUI v4 (ICS) 2.10.26 for the HTC Desire. It is based on:
Sandvold's ICS 0.8.1 ROM (Android 4.0.4) as a base (thanks to Sandvold)
Aroma/MIUI-Au installer (thanks to Amarullz and Lennox)
patchrom MIUI v4 2.10.26
If you like what I am doing, a amazon gift card would be nice or click on the 'donate to me' button.
Please note:
this ROM will not be update exactly every week (but I try to keep up), and asking about updating the base will not make a change of base go faster. It takes a lot of time to change/update the base and it is not easy (otherwise I would have done it already), so progress on that is going slowly and I will show it to the world if and when it is ready. This is a one-man operation and I don't have unlimited time. So please enjoy the ROM as is.

(I cleaned up the OP. I removed a lot of the older versions. Hope that doesn't lead to problems).
You can download the ROM thru their app GooManager. Select the option "Browse compatible ROMs' and you will find the ROM. I also upload it to mediafire.
Please note that the ROM works for me, but understand this is a beta version (because the base ROM is beta and MIUI is changing the ROM every week, I still keep it on beta level), flash at your own risk. Make a NAND backup before installing, so when things go wrong, you can back to the previous version. If you experience any serious problems, do a full wipe/factory reset then flash again.

NOTE for 2.9.29
Because Xiaomi did not release a new version this week, I decided to upload the 2.9.29 version. It looks stable and IMHO it looks a tiny bit faster. But I needed to remove the Hanzi patch in this version, because Xiaomi did change the code completely, so the patch failed. If people can try and see if the patch is still needed ? There are no other changes in this version (with exception of the 2.9.28 and 2.9.29 patches). I spend most of my spare time on "real life issues" and working on a version with an updated base. I got it to boot, but need (a lot more) time to get all the patches in. So please no questions about ETA's or for information.

NOTE FOR 2.9.7
At least version 2.8.31 had an issue on cm7r2 hboot. There was not enough space on the system partition, which caused FC's. In this version I moved some more stuff to the SD-card, so that the space issue is solved and 2.9.7 should work again without trouble on cm7r2 hboot.
2012-09-15: The 2.9.7 release has a problem with root permissions. Xiaomi implemented a check to determine of a ROM should have root permissions (development mode) or not (stable mode). One way or another the 2.9.7 build is put in stable mode. There is a patch (see DOWNLOAD PERMISSION PATCH FOR 2.9.7 above) which switches permissions into development mode.

NOT WORKING:
USB Tethering
OTA updates (use GooManager for this)
Instability/Random reboots sometimes (but not a lot ) (especially after playing music)
MIUI Music Player has sometimes a random noise for a split second (looks like a MIUI player problem)
(looks like select smartassv2 as governor solves this)
Looks like Adhoc wifi is not working
Probably more
REQUIREMENTS:
the same as MIUI Au:
Requires an ext3/4 partition to be the second partition on your SD Card.
Will install on Stock HBOOT without problems. On Data++ and cm7 HBOOT, there are issues. I am looking into it.
Only stock HBOOT, Data++ and Sense can perform data wipe without rom reinstallation, due to system files needing to be moved for other HBOOT's.
INSTALLATION:
Make sure you have an ext3/4 partition setup as the second partition on your sd card, otherwise you will have very little memory to use as data2ext won’t work.
If you restore apps or data using Titanium or MIUI Backup, there may be problems due to changes from GB to ICS. If you do have any, restore apps one by one to find the culprit.
NOTES
After installing you can get the message:
System UIDs Inconsistent
----------------------------------
UIDs on the system are inconsistent, you need to wipe your data partition or your device will be unstable.

Only solution I found was to backup the apps, do a wipe and reinstall the backup.
For some people wifi was not working and that is solved by using wifix. Just select it in the installer and it will get installed automatically.
The FC's in supermarkt en Gallery are still there. I am working on it, but still have no idea what and why it happens (Gallery) or I know know what happens, but don't know why (Supermarkt).

Great Work to Revive G7
2012-07-27
I flashed 7.20 beta into my G7. It's almost perfect--fast, fluent. And I encountered no FC, no BSOD for 3 days.
1. I used BCM kernel for a few hours, turned out that it was not so fluent.
2. then I switched to tiamat kernel (the version from sandvold 0.15.0.1), with the following settings,
Force GPU usage ----- on
Show rounded corners ---- off
Windows animations scale ----- Animations off
Transitions animation scale ---- Animations off.
And then this rom is flying fluently, as well as all apps getting fast.
3. Sometimes when i pressed power button to turn off and lock the screen, the screen turned off firstly, but it lit again in about 1 second.
4. And when i pressed power button to turn on the screen, the screen lit firstly, but blacked again.
I have never expected that G7 could run ICS so fluently, but It does.
Great work and great rom. Many thanks to Marange and your stuff.
Oh, I am from China.

I flashed 2.6.22. All thing is going on well, but the following,
1. Sometimes when i pressed power button to turn off and lock the screen, the screen turned off firstly, but it lit again.
2. And when i pressed power button to turn on the screen, the screen lit firstly, but blacked again.
3. The Gallery App has FCs
Great rom. thanks to Marange.

Thanks for your great work. I like MIUI V4 due to its beauty. Looking forward to your newest progress.
One day Testing on 2.4.20 turns out:
1). BlackScreen death(2 times), 2). ColorScreen(screen was on) Death(1 time), 3). some apps that can not be installed(the most annoying annoyance is that Root Explorer can not be installed), 4). Some FCs, 5). battery burning out to power off during a night(more than 60% left when I sleeped).
6). SMS getting more smooth when long sm is displaying, 7). Some apps that dispaly long text content getting more smooth
Thanks for this great ROM, it's really smooth and so far, everything's working perfectly! I would second the move to the developer section, so more people can become aware of this.
Thanks for reviving MIUI v4 on the Desire, you just re-lit the candle of hope
Thank you really much, I was looking forward this thread!
Great and works perfectly.
Is there a specific reason, why you chose 0.54 of Sandvolds build as a basis and not 0.6/0.6.1.1?
Nevertheless: Great that you did all the hard work and brought us desire users MIUI v4 back! Looking forward to more builds from your side in the near future ;-)
cool!
Thx for your hard work!
I hope the issue with network is fixed. With the previous versions i couldn't connect to my wpa2-protected wifi-network.
Damn, I'm in Thailand right now so I can't test it on my Desire yet. Will try it as soon as I touch homeground.
Thanks for the work you put in Maranges!

Hello, thanks a lot for the good work. Yust installed the latest version. It feels much better than the version before. Are there any chances to get fm radio working? Greetings from germany.
does it woorking panoramic camera?
however thank you, i will flash it tomorrow and then will post my feedback
Thank you very much for your work! I'm very glad to see that someone keeps Miui V4 alive for the Desire!
Till now all works great!
Is there a chance to get other languages work? Or how can it be done? If someone can tell me, I will have a try!
Greetings from Germany!!!
Sandvolds 0.5.4 base is used as it was the one out when this project was coming together.
The base rom won't be changed unless major changes are in effect (for instance panorama working), as it means COMPLETELY new building of the miui rom, i.e. every patch made probably has to be redone = tons of work + testing..
So the thought is to keep the base (it's fairly stable as is) and focus on polishing the miui part, until it makes much sense to update the base
Getting rid of the rest chinese, getting the cpu settings to run smooth, adding languages. And other stuff that might be broken or needs attention
So if you know any pro smali hackers with lots of spare time, let us know!
-Dan
I think sandvolds 0.5.4 base is allright. It´s stable enough. Setting the focus on the Miui part is the right way. There are a lot of miui specials (on GB Versions) which can be ported to ics miui.

Most of that stuff is simple enough, this weekend hopefully I'll be having a play with the latest build and improve some things. If you have specifics pm me or get marange to email me and I'll try to sort it all then.
As 1982Strand already mentioned, the 0.5.4 base ROM was the current ROM when I started. The idea is to get polish the ROM first and also get some translations in. The idea is to make it a multilingual ROM so if people want to contribute with language translations, please PM me and I can send you the resources which need translation. There is already an offer for German and 1982Strand is looking at the Danish translation.
Because there is very little patching and tweaking for the desire, we are also looking at that. Make it even an better experience on the desire. And if you notice strange behavior, things not working, FC's, apps not installable, please let us know.
Marange
Just wanted to give some feedback:
Working great, stable, no FCs or reboots so far after around 18 hours of usage.
Battery life so far is amazing, drainage over night just 9%, which I never had with the previous builds. So, please keep this one
Beside the small chinese parts (which do not disturb me at all): AMAZING!
Looking forward to the future and future builds with tweaks, etc.
Cheers and THX!

Hi
Sorry you had so much trouble.
About the BSOD (1) and CSOD (2), these are kernel issues. And I know these are very annoying. We are working on a solution. On (3), could you please let us know what the error is you get ? (Question to other users Are there any other users who have the same problem ? (4) Could you give (an) example(s) ? (5) Strange, don't have this problem. Maybe a rogue app which kept running in the background ? And I don't understand what you mean by (6) and (7).
Do you have the same issues with 2.4.27 ?
Again sorry for the problems. Please keep sending them in, so that we can look at fixing them.
Now im using the rom for hours. No problems so far. Battery life is good. And the small chinese things are funny.

Yes, there are some chinese in Gallery and in recommended tab in the mms app, have you noticed chinese elsewhere?
Some more chinese: the privacy (firewall) app and the monitor app.
---------- Post added at 01:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:46 PM ----------
one more question. Is there any chance that extended setting mod is working with this rom?

Steps
1. If you haven’t yet, unlock your TF700 by following these instructions.

TWRP XDA Thread
CWM XDA Thread
Download the recovery file from above, put it into the same folder where you have adb and fastboot files. Please rename it to twrp.blob or cwm.img and follow the instructions below:
Connect your transformer to your PC, reboot to the bootloader to enable fastboot by either holding down [power] and [volume down] or opening a command prompt in your adb.exe folder in windows:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
To flash the recovery:
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery cwm.img
or
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery twrp.blob
A blue bar will go accross the screen on the tab and the command prompt will indicate it was successful in about 10 seconds
Then reboot the tablet either back to the bootloader or to android to complete
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot-bootloader
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot
You can now access the recovery by pushing [volume up] on the RCK icon in the bootloader screen

ROM2SD/DATA2SD USERS PLEASE READ!
ROM2SD only works if you have ZOMBI-POP, ZOMBi-X, CROMBi-kk, CROMi-X or miniC flashed on internal with a THATv10+ kernel. Just choose ROM2SD in the installer of ZOMBi-POP to flash it to ROM2SD and the installer will do the rest.
- Install ZOMBi-POP and choose ROM2SD or DATA2SD install
The ROM2SD1.zip below is only needed if you need to switch your recovery to between normal and rom2sd mode. For Example you want to backup or restore a rom2sd installation. Flash once to go rom2sd and flash again to go back to normal. A reboot always puts you back to normal. Thanks to _that!

Using GParted to setup a micro SD for ROM2SD or DATA2SD support
First and foremost - DO NOT USE MINI TOOL!
Formatting a micro sd card for ROM2SD
Note for DATA2SD just do one partition in stead of 2
We will be using a GParted Live boot USB and a FAST good quality micro sd like a Sandisk or Samsung Class 10 - SDHC/SDXC UHS-1 card with read speed of at least 20MB/S. If you have a cheap chinese eBay card don't bother - they are not good enough.
You will also need a USB Stick with at least 1GB size. Note this process formats the USB disk so don't keep any important files on it. It will also wipe your micro sd so make sure you are prepared.
1. Go to the link below and download the GParted Live CD/USB/HD/PXE Bootable Image and save it somewhere you remember
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php
2. Download Linux Live USB Creator and install it
http://www.linuxliveusb.com/
3. Fire up LiLi USB Creator:
a. Choose your USB key - I,e, the drive letter for your USB (not sd card)
b. Choose your GParted iso image for the source
c. Choose the check box to Format Key in FAT32 and hide files
d. Click the lightning bolt to create
4. Now you have a bootable disk you need to boot from it. You may need to alter you BIOS Settings on your PC to boot from a USB Stick but mine did it without messing.
5. Insert your micro SD card into an SD Card adapter and insert into PC
6. Boot into GParted
7. Choose Gparted Live <Enter>
8. Don’t touch keymap <Enter>
9. Languge <Enter>
10. Start Gparted Automatically
11. Change device to your micro sd )it will default to you hard disk - hda– mine is /dev/sdc
12. Delete all existing partitions
For a 64GB card: (resize as needed but /system doesn't need to be bigger than 1GB)
13. Create new, always select primary: do this 3 times.
14. FAT 32 : Size 16GB – this will be /dev/sdc1 in gparted and will be your sdcard for storage in Android
15. EXT4 : Size 42GB – this will be /dev/sdc2 in gparted and will be your /data partition in Android
16. EXT4 : Size 1GB – this will be /dev/sdc3 in gparted and will be your /system partition in Android (not needed for data2sd)
Apply, wait until it finishes and then reboot. Remember to remove the usb stick
*Images stolen from elsewhere as I couldn’t get it to save mine
Now you are ready to install ROM2SD. Note if you want to use DATA2SD then only do 2 partitions 1x FAT32 and 1x larger EXT4
Then reinstall ZOMBi-POP but this time choose the ROM2SD / DATA2SD option
IRC FREENODE zombi-x
All,
The ROM is still in BETA and by flashing it you are helping the BETA Testing process
It may still have some bugs, spontaneously reboot, drain the battery faster or heat up a bit. The aim is to make it better and fix them.
If you find a bug and want to report it here please post a logcat (after it occurred) with a description of what you were doing at the time and the rough timing in the logcat to look at (these things get huge!).
You can also post a dmesg which is the kernel boot logs and can indicate issues with data corruption or hardware.
If you get a reboot then please post a last_kmsg from the /proc folder.
How to get a logcat
How to get useful logs
Thank you!!

Thx Josh
Thank you so much for releasing this! It's simply amazing!
Here's the result of my experience with this ROM so far:
- After formatting data, it installed ok, first boot was rather quick. While filling up my google account on the first boot, the tablet suddenly rebooted. Very weird, but after the reboot it worked just fine, just had to enter the initial wizard again. ('m using f2fs so hope everything is fine, it seems so as I didn't have to reinstall the rom).
- But then I noticed the camera didn't work. However, that got fixed after doing a reboot on my own.
- Overall, seems really fast and responsive, and I'm not even running on ROM2SD yet, just on internal and still feels quick.
- So, just missing the dock battery info on the dual battery widget :good:
Thank you so much guys! You're the best! Looking forward to further releases! :good:
PS: Altough the charging light comes up, it seems the dock is not charging the tabet for some reason.
EDIT: The dock is charging the tablet after all, just no information is available.
PS2: 1080p support on YouTube app! :good:
Firstly, I'd like to thank the developers for their outstanding work!
Now, I am curious if LP really runs better (in the TF700, specifically) or is it just our flash-aholic personalities? In this case I am a bit hesitant, due to the lack of XPosed. (In particular, I'd like to have XPrivacy... Greenify is also nice...)
So, is there a really noticeable difference from the previous Zombi? (I know it is, perhaps, subjective, but I'd like to hear opinions... I've heard not so great comments on the Galaxy S5 forums.)
Thanks,
Luis
The only thing I miss is portrait mode, anyone know a way to force it through?
Are there any ASUS Apps included or any of the Apps Packs by kansasboy001 compatible?

I don't think there is a new ASUS app package yet, but remember we are the bleeding edge right now. Since this rom has opened the lollipop doorway, it's only a matter of time before someone follows @sbdags through.
yeah i figured it might be too early.
are there any asus devices out that have official lollipop rom? maybe we can port those apps over.

will manually editting the overlay/frameworks/base/core/res/res/values/config.xml file correct the issue?
remove the two lines and add the two new ones?
so far it looks like this rom is very stable with only a minor bug

What is AOSP?
AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps. Anyway to get a working system me and @-+BB+- added some changes from CyanogenMod. We added also some non-AOSP features like init.d support, @alucard_24 kernel for better performance and energy saving, STweaks for advanced kernel settings and support for Over-The-Air updates through a dedicated app (OTA Updates). Maybe something else from us might be added, but please do not ask for features to be added because we're not going to add more to keep this ROM small, fast and pure.

AT&T users: since your bootloader is locked, you must be on the UCUAMDB or UCUAMDL bootloader in order to use this ROM. Do getprop ro.bootloader in Terminal Emulator or through ADB shell to find out which bootloader you have
First time or clean install:
Download the ROM from the link above
Download GApps package for Lollipop 5.1
Put the zip files on your SDCard
Reboot in Recovery
Wipe Data / Factory Reset
Optional: convert to F2FS
Select "Install zip from SDCard"
Choose AOSP zip file
Choose GApps zip file
Reboot system
Update from a previous build:
Via OTA Updates:
Open OTA Updates app
Download the update
Press "Install"
Your device will automatically reboot and install the update.
Manual update with TWRP:
Download updated build from the link above
If you do not have the Gapps package, download Open GApps
Put the zip files on your SDCard
Reboot in TWRP Recovery
Wipe /cache and dalvik-cache
Select "Install zip from SDCard"
Choose AOSP zip file
Choose GApps zip file
Reboot system
We don't have a backup/restore GApps script yet. When you update /system is formatted, so you need to reflash GApps package too. In case you don't do it, Google Apps will fail in endless force closes after boot.
First boot after install/update takes a while, wait at least 5 minutes for it to boot.
To convert cache, data and system partitions to F2FS look in post below.

Tips
To enable Developer options go in Settings->About device and press "Build number" for 7 consecutive times.
Using F2FS
What it is? Wikipedia
To use it you should first convert your EXT4 partitions through recovery, before installing this ROM.
On PhilZ:
Wipe and format options->custom format options->toggle ext4 f2fs migration
Format data and data/media->f2fs (Warning: internal storage is formatted, make a backup of your personal data before doing this!)
Format system->f2fs
On TWRP:
Download and install this TWRP version: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347763625
Wipe->advanced wipe
Select data->change or repair file system->f2fs (Warning: internal storage is formatted, make a backup of your personal data before doing this!)
Select cache->change or repair file system->f2fs
Select system->change or repair file system->f2fs
Now you can install this ROM following installation steps in post above
Some screenshots
We mainly talk in the i9505 thread located here, head over for further details about development progress, bug fixing etc.
I'm curious why the OP doesn't mention the 5MB email attachment limit? how was this not tested?

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

FAQ
The Music app crashes every time I open it
There seems to be something causing corruption in the Media album art database. Clearing the data of the "Media Storage" application and rebooting should fix it.
To clear data, go to: Settings -> Apps -> All -> Media Storage -> Clear Data. Then reboot.
Login with Google does not work in some apps
Sometimes, on a fresh wipe, the phone language will be set to an invalid language. Changing it to a valid one from Settings should fix the issue.
Battery Statistics shows that Wi-Fi is always on even though I've turned it off.
If you are using "scanning always available" in Advanced Wi-Fi Settings, then Wi-Fi will always be on to scan for available network to aid location discovery.
After installing, my storage was reduced from 8 GB to 4 GB
You only have 4 GB for user data in the first place. The other 4 GB is used by system files. This is the same with stock as well. However, stock might have displayed it as "8 GB with 4 GB used by system files", but AOSP-based ROMs will only display the space available for user data.
Can you include S-Note/S-Planner/MultiWindow/Insert Samsung App Here?
No. This is an AOSP ROM and cannot have TouchWiz applications.
Can you add Feature X to the stock ROM?
No. I don't work on stock ROMs.
What kernel does this ROM use?
A slightly modified version of the stock kernel, the source code is linked above.
I've heard that Broadcom doesn't release source, how can you make this ROM?
Contrary to the popular belief, userspace driver source code is not always required to make an AOSP-based ROM as long as the proprietary binaries shipped with the device does not modify the API too heavily (or is from a very different version of Android). Instead of modifying the source code of the drivers, the Android source code was adapted to be able to use the proprietary binaries.
Can contacts be saved to phone/SIM?
No. It is not supported in AOSP-based ROMs.
Can I send files over Wi-Fi Direct?
Yes, but you must use third-party applications. The implementation provided on Samsung ROMs is not an open standard. AOSP/CM does not provide a native way to send files over Wi-Fi Direct.
Can I mirror your ROM?
You're free to, but I will not list it in main post.
REPORTING BUGS
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread.
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Hi everybody, thanks you to have brought into us this fantastic fw,
I just installed it in my 9105p and seems everything fine and smooth, or almost...the flashlight goes on and when you switch it off the system reboots.
I will keep reporting weird things, either that you like it or not

Hello everyone,
with this post i present you my Customized LineageOS 11.0 build (based on Android 4.4.4) for the Samsung Galaxy S Plus (GT-9001).
This Rom is based on the work from the ADC-Team and their CyanogenMod 11.0 ROM. The included Kernel is based on Christopher83's UV K^Kernel.
I made this Rom mostly for myself, because i still use this device as my daily driver.
Please take a look at the feature list to see if you like them or not. Also, please read the installation instructions carefully!
Disclaimer
Your warranty is now void.
We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed.
Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it!
YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.

Installation
If you are installing this Rom for the first time, please do a clean installation:
Download this Rom and the latest TWRP recovery from the ADC-Team with F2FS support (look inside the Download section)
Optional: Download a Gapps package, even tho i strongly suggest not to install them, because of possible performance issues and privacy concerns
Put all of the downloaded files on an external SD card (if you don't have one, you can copy the Rom (and Gapps) on the internal SD card via MTP after the wiping step)
Optional: Backup all of your data
Install the new recovery, then reboot into recovery again
Change the filesystem for the Data AND Cache partition to F2FS (Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> Select Data -> Repair or Change File System -> Change File System -> F2FS -> Swipe -> Redo steps for Cache)
Wipe Dalvik Cache, Cache, System and Data partition
Install the ROM
Optional: Install Gapps
Reboot the system
If you want to update from the 03.08.2018 build or older to a newer version you have to flash a migration zip first.
Read more about it in the second post.
If you already installed this build, then you can just update it:
Download the new build and copy it to your device
Wipe Dalvik Cache and Cache
Optional: Wipe System (I do this step every time. Its usually not needed and will (hopefully) tell you if it's necessary)
If you are using Gapps you have to install them after the Rom update again
If you are using Adaway, you have to download your Hostfiles after this step again
Install the Rom update
Reboot the system

Starting with the 10.09.2018 i will start to sign my builds with my own private keys. That includes the Rom itself, but also the APKs inside of it (instead of precompiled apps i include, which is only fennec till now).
This means you (or someone else) can only update the Rom and the system APKs with files that are signed by me. With this noone should be able to install a bad system APK or a bad build on your device.
To update your device from an older build, you have to add those keys to your device first. I made a flashable zip for that purpose. So if you want to update from an build that is older than the 10.09.2018 you have to flash this zip first.
Download migration zip
You only have to do this procedure once. If you do a clean installation you don't even have to it.
But that also means you can't go back to an older build after going to signed builds. (If you really want to for whatever reason, edit the migration zip for that purpose, or ask me how to do it)
To check if one of my builds has the correct signature, simply use:
Code:
keytool -J-Duser.language=en -list -printcert -jarfile zip_name.zip
The resulting fingerprints of my builds (after the 03.08.2018) are listed as follows:
Code:
Certificate fingerprints:
MD5: A2:42:4C:F5:4E:DD:3A:A2:C8:20:3A:AF:A1:D6:B9:99
SHA1: F2:13:38:21:53:55:89:CD:30:96:18:99:DD:7B:6D:81:DF:18:79:5F
SHA256: 94:56:09:A6:38:84:CB:BD:82:A5:A9:30:2F:D7:7C:EC:95:AA:57:FE:88:3B:9B:16:79:61:64:B4:AC:79:53:CC
SU
This Rom comes with su preinstalled. This means you have the ability to use Apps that need root permissions. If you don't want this you can remove su with this flashable zip.
Download addonsu-remove zip
If you want to add su back after removing it, you can do that with this zip.
Download addonsu zip
Simply flash these zips inside your recovery and reboot your device afterwards.
Bugs
There are a few small bugs, that will probably never get fixed (if you know how to fix these write me how to do it )
Bugs that can be fixed with a reboot:
no mobile data connection
SD Card stops working
Other Bugs:
MX Player does not work (and it will also freeze your system)
apparently this applies to RAR and Solid Explorer too
a user reported FC's and slowdowns inside the app "Aliexpress" with the lulzactive governor
Tips and Tricks
To get access to the Performance and Developer options go inside About phone inside Settings and tap 7 times on the Build number.
The default governor is interactive. Personaly i use lulzactive. Switching the governor may give you better performance and/or batterylife. But using interactive should be more stable. You can change the governor in the Performance section inside.
Under Performance Settings you can also overclock the cpu. I would say it is pretty save to overlock the cpu, since i am running my device for 5 years at 1.82 GHz (unless you have a different hardware revision)
If you experience random shutdowns after overclocking, you should lower the maximum cpu speed or raise your cpu voltage.
Using this Rom without Gapps is recommended. If you need some Google services you can use MicroG instead. To use it activate Signature Spoofing under Developer options. Google Maps i use, in combination with MicroG and Mozilla's Unified Nlp Backend. Also i use a rather old Maps version (9.14.0). But if you don't need the newest features und just some Maps, this version performs really good, even on our old device.
If you are using Adaway (also a recommendation) don't forget to add mtalk.google.com to your whitelist.
If you want an open source app store i can recommend F-Droid.
These pages (including the following posts) also contain useful informations about Rom and Kernel:
ADC-Teams CM11 Thread
Christopher83's K^Kernel Thread
Hello everyone again,
i finally created this thread and uploaded my rom. I had this in mind for a long time and i use my own LineageOS version since quite some time (i made my first commit in November 2015 i guess) and now it is in time for the 7th birthday from this device . I tried to make this device more secure, while still providing good performance and battery life.
I hope you like this rom, but again: I made this mostly for myself. And since i am not a power user (which is quite impossible with this device ), there might be some things that are broken that i didn't noticed, or stuff got removed because i didn't needed it. If you notice something of this or you find some bugs or have a question, feel free to post about it and i will take a look at it.
You can see all of my sources in the first post and even my manifest to make the build as reproducible as possible.
You can also take a look at the changelog for more informations (creating this changelog really took some time), at the two screenshots i uploaded and most important at the installation instructions.
I guess i don't have more to say for now, so happy flashing!

HW Keys bug exist because of linaro. Switch to other toolchain or remove O3 flag (change to Os)
I'll use rmt_storage from sources you provided. I've used rmtfs all time, but seems that there's better replacement. Thanks!

And thank you for the infos about the hw buttons, i will definitely test this out!
Update
Hey, here is a small update. It should fix the hw button bug. I also merged some other changes to the kernel, but nothing big.
Changelog:
Kernel
-Kernel compiled with -Os flags instead of -O3
This should fix the hw button bug (thanks to outofmemory13)
-a lot of binder updates
-proper implemention of UID-based routing
-some more things from LineageOS' samsung_jf kernel tree

Update
Hey, here is another small update. This one fixes the brightness bug after booting. I couldn't find the cause of this, but I used my high-class scripting skills *cough* to create a workaround. I think there are no more major bugs left, unless you find one
Changelog:
Kernel
-Compile GPU driver and crypto modules with -O3 again
-Reverted a faulty commit
-Removed F2FS encryption support (not supported for Kernel 3.4)
-Implemented CPU boost (thanks to MarcinDevelopment)
-Small performance optimizations
-Fixed some compiler warnings
Rom
-Deleted one unnecessary vendor blob
-Disabled GPS by default, only relevant for a clean installation
-Updated APN's
-Use low-res bootanimation
-Boot with 1/4 of the maximum brightness
-Implemented the hacky maximum-brightness-after-boot workaround
-Small cleanups
Apps
Fennec
-Updated Fennec (they forgot to build some languages)
If you browser starts to crash after updating, you have to clean Fennec's data. I am sorry if that happens.

You are welcome!
I am excited to hear your feedback.
Sadly I don't think that I will spend my time on another rom for this device, just because I still use this phone as my daily driver and I don't want to experiment to much with it. And my internet connection is also not the fastest, so downloading a whole new source code takes really long for me.
Hi Wangenau, This is to let you know thatI am very happy with this ROM, it is snappy, secured and almost everything is working. It looks like mobile data is not working. Any chance that you look into this?

I am glad you like it!
But it is strange that mobile data is not working for you, for me it is working fine. Sometimes there is a rare case where mobile data randomly(?) stops working. You could try to reboot the device, while making sure that Settings->Mobile network settings->Data enabled is marked, wait a bit and see if the problem persists.
Let me know if this will fix your problem :fingers-crossed:
Edit: Removed second option because it is not a good tip
Solve my phone problem
I hope to solve the problem of a phone when I install the ROM is installed and does not work please respond quickly

Hey, I just saw your post. Sorry if I don't understand, but what is your problem exactly?

If that won't help, you could try to download , move it inside the zip under system/bin/ to replace the existing rild file and flash the zip again (after wiping cache, dalvik cache and system).
Let me know if this will fix your problem :fingers-crossed:

Thanks for your suggestions. So maybe I will need to do a re-flash of the rom. I live in the Netherlands, maybe a different band or so. Will try all suggestions and come back

I really need more informations to help you. Here are some:
Are you able to boot the device or did the flashing process fail? If it failed, is there an error message in the recovery terminal?
Did you followed the installation guide from the first post exactly?
Did you make a clean Installation, installed the needed recovery version und formatted data and cache as f2fs?
Do you have the right device? (this rom only works in the Galaxy S Plus, not on the Galaxy S or others)

That is strange. Have you tried to redownload the build and reinstall it?
And what was your rom before updating?
