So work is now requiring I use the Vodafone Secure Device Manager and Touchdown to get emails through my Android phones. One of the limitations is I cannot be rooted to do this. Does anyone know how or what the app checks for? My work phone is currently running CM 10 and I would prefer to not go back to stock.
Hello XDA.
I recently got a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GSM from a cousin asking for me to root it and install CM on it for her. I am quite familiar with rooting, unlocking and installing custom ROMs but that was on Nexus devices. After some searching around the forum, I find it a bit odd & different from how the process of doing so in Nexus devices.
My questions are:
1) Does it work in the same procedure? Unlock bootloader -> Install recovery -> flash SuperSU (root) & ROM
Because that's what I did with my Nexus devices and it worked fine.
2) Does ADB work the same way? Does fastboot even exist in all Android devices?
I haven't tried yet, as I do not have the proprietary cable with me.
3) How do I completely restore back to stock by flashing?
I saw an Odin method (which I am unfamiliar with) but it says, it requires me to be in Android itself. What if I am stuck in bootloop?
Thanks so much.

Hello there, i just purchased a second hand At & t network unlocked galaxy s6 and want to root and install custom rom like noble rom etc in it because i am tired of At & t bloatware. so i want to know that how i can install it? is there any issues of bootloader locked etc? currently i am on lollipop 5.1.1 and software is up to date.... in odin menu it says
system status: custom
Reactivation lock: Off
knox warranty: 0 (0*0000)
I want a summarized instructions which i couldn't find anywhere else... so posted here.. urgent help is much appreciated
AFAIK, the AT&T variant (920A) has a locked bootloader and therefore you cannot install a custom recovery image (like TWRP) to traditionally install custom ROMs. You may be able to install a ROM via Flashfire once you root via Pingpong, as folks in the Xstre ROM thread have reported they could indeed install that ROM (provided you're already on MM and have the MM bootloader/radio on the phone). I actually just returned a 920A for a 920I for this exact reason.
You may also find success in the "Samsung Debloater" tool, search for that - I used this on an AT&T Note 4 about a year ago and it worked well to disable the carrier bloat.
Is it any possible way for my device (Samsung A10S SM-A107F) to flash a stock android? (by this i mean no custom ui like samsung's one ui)
I was trying to find a way out to turn my samsung a10s but youtube just showing a custom rom for samsung a10
It must be possible. You just need to find original firmware somewhere on the Internet. Use Odin.
