[q] moto g shutdown during 4.4.4 updating process and no sign sign of starting - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys, I had my recovery flashed to stock again from TWRP, and was flashing the stock firmware with the help of this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47820707&postcount=1
Now, I might have skipped to notice the following point in my impatience
Downgrading:
The 1st command "mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin" will fail on 4.4.2 to 4.3 downgrade. Skip this command if you are downgrading and continue with the other commands, which should work.
Click to collapse
But still all went fine and I booted into my new stock firmware (4.3) and I got an OTA update for 4.4.4 and I downloaded it and went to install it. The device reboots, android starts its installation process and I left it there for it to finish.
Now starts the problem. I come to check the status of the updation process and the screen is off. I'm trying to turn on the phone and it just refuses to boot up. No LED notification light blinking, no white charging screen when connected to wall point charger. Just dead, just like that. The weird thing being, the battery charge was at 90%+ when it all started.
What should I do now. I tried vol down + power combo for 2 mins, just the power button for 2 mins and such combinations.
Help me out guys.

Will not boot into recovery but will boot into download mode.

My phone is rooted with stock rom. The only changes are listed below
Froze bloat that was safe
changed bootanimation to stock samsung
replaced some apps with inverted versions of themselves (ex. google +, stock messaging)
Here goes:
I was using navigation and I noticed that my phone was off after I had finished. Nothing worked at all, I could not boot into recovery or download. I connected the phone to a charger and red led flashes and an empty battery appears. The battery was full. I could reboot the phone while on the charger, but it would shut off as soon as it got to the homescreen. While off, If I pressed the home button, the green battery would appear as if it were charging. From here I could boot into recovery and download mode. The phone will only boot into these modes while connected to the charger. Here is where it went bad. I attempted to restore a backup while the phone was on the car charger and my car charger got pulled out in the middle of a restore. No charger meant that the phone shut off mid restore. Now, when I plug in the phone, the red led appears and the empty battery with a circle inside appears and then goes away. This repeats itself over and over and the phone buzzes when the empty battery reappears. I can still boot into download mode but not recovery. If I try to flash the stock samsung rom via odin, it says that it passes, however upon automatic reboot the samsung appears and nothing else. After the samsung appears the phone just continues to buzz every 5 seconds or so as if it is trying to do something. Could it be a bootloop? I have done a ton of searching here and now I am resorting to help! Your time is appreciated and beers on me if you can help me get my phone back to normal.
Put your phone into download mode and let it sit on the charger for 30 minutes. After pull and reinsert your battery and then try to power on your phone without your charger. Then proceed to charge your phone to full since it powered on.

This did not work but thank you for the suggestion. From what I have gathered, as long as I can get into recovery then I should be able to get everything back to normal. Anyone?

if you can get into download mode, you can use odin to fix everything.
you might have to do a complete wipe but it is what it is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
read that
I tried this already. My problem is that after I flash the first bootchain, the second bootchain will not flash. I gets stuck at the setup in odin. I see there is an option to disconnect the phone and exit odin and reconnect the phone without leaving download mode if this happens. My problem is that if I disconnect the phone from the computer or from the charger it shuts off automatically. I tried these steps the best that I could and when I click nand erase and it reboots, then all it does is buzz every few seconds. I then shut it off and do the data and cache wipe and reboot. It reboots and appears to be the stock rom asking me for language and activation after, but the phone shuts off almost immediately and reboots to a blank battery with a circle in the middle. This is after I have had the phone on the charger for a long time. This happened out of the blue after I was using navigation. This problem did not arise from changing something in the system or from flashing a rom or kernel or anything of the sort. No one has seen this issue with the blank battery? I saw someone mention in android forums but the resolution was that they returned it and got a refurb.

[SOLVED] [Q] GT-P5113 Reboot Loop Plz Help

I ended up sending this to Samsung for repair. Luckily my tab was still under warranty. It took them 3 times to finally get it fixed correctly. First time they replaced the main board and the data link cable plug. When I got it back it lasted about an hour before it started doing the reboot loop again. So I sent it back and that time that did a software upgrade, but they obviously didn't even test it before sending it back cuz it only lasted 30 min. then it started with the reboot loop. Before I sent it back for the 3rd time I got in contact with a manager cuz I was so frustrated at this point. That time I sent the tablet directly to her to make sure it was fixed and tested before sending it back to me. I've had it for about 2 weeks now with no problems. They replaced the main board again. So either they gave me a faulty one the first time they "fixed" it or they didn't do anything to it.
So if your tab is stuck in the reboot loop and there's nothing you can do to make it stop, contact Samsung.
I bought this about 2 weeks ago and got to use it for about 5 days.
Woke up in the middle of the night cuz I kept hearing the start up sound to my tablet. So what it does is starts up then I get a prompt saying "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" I click ok and then another prompt that says "Unfortunately, Goole+ has stopped" with the choice of clicking "Report" of "Ok" then the screen freezes and it all starts again.
So I have about 3 - 5 seconds after it starts up and I've tried going in and doing a system restore but it crashes before I can do that. I have manged to go in and delete my google account but when it restarts my account is back.
So then I tried using the Odin3 program with every different file that I could find that would be compatible with my tab and it shows that it installs fine but nothing ever changes on the tab it self. I have tried using the Pit file and the stock rom, the stock rom alone, the pit file alone, twrp open recovery, clockwork open recovery, CF Auto Root, but no luck. I have tried having the auto reboot on and off and then rebooting it myself, still no change.
When I go into recovery mode it shows the android with a red triangle. and of course if I try to install anything from there it always does the signature fail. Which I'm guessing cuz it's not rooted. So at this point I am wondering is there a way to just completely wipe everything off and start completely over? I have wasted so much time on this POS I'm about to just throw it away. Any advice would be more greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi Im a new member. Im have the same trouble also.
there is an endless restart cycle, and my tablet can last only for around 10 to 15 seconds power on then it will restart again and repeat the process until the battery die.
I can only power off if i connect to the power supply.
I already tried ODIN with several stock PDA files, root with CWM and philtouch, but nothing happens. Everything is passed but there is no change on the about devices after the reboot. Then it continue the endless restart again.
When i boot in original recovery, there is an error already. if i flash zip file root, there is an error in signature.
Please help me brothers and sisters.
Any luck figuring this problem out?

[Q] Bootloop after applying GPS antenna fix

I was having terrible GPS reception and I tried the antenna fix- sliding a tiny peace of thick paper under the antenna connectors:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1-uCIb-t8I
After powering up the phone booted once, then rebooted after couple of seconds and has been bootlooping on Google logo since.
- Takes much more time than normally to power on, then falls into Google logo bootloop,
- Cannot go into bootloader, power + vol buttond doesn't do a thing,
- If I hold vol up + vol down while bootlooping it powers off,
- Plugging in doesn't change anything, no charging indicator when powered off.
Is there anything I can do ?
Did I kill my phone ? If so, how ? What could I have damaged by simply prying the cover open ?
Are all the connections secure?
I checked all the connectors, they're ok.
After a day or so the phone got back to the living- I was able to boot and play around for a while.
Then I tried to update (I got the Lolipop OTA), which failed...
Downloaded the factory image and the flash attempt always gets stuck at " sending 'system'"...
Bootloader, radio, recovery, boot, everything gets flashed, then it gets stuck at flashing "system".
Any ideas ?
EDIT:
Flashed 4.4.4 in NRT without any problems, boots normally, still cannot flash Lolipop ...

[Q] Google logo bootloop after flashing TWRP

Last night I tried to flash TWRP just because I wanted to go to a custom ROM- alas, the phone now will not go past the google logo. It usually hangs there for 10-ish seconds and then reboots. Occasionally hangs there indefinitely. It's not a power button issue- the button worked just fine before flashing and I've confirmed it still works normally with a multimeter.
I tried to reflash stock using the Google images and "flashall.bat", which says it succeeded- but the phone still loops. I can get into fastboot, but I get the bootloop even in recovery. Running the similar script through Nexus Root Toolkit always fails on flashing the system partition- usually a buffer error due to a sparse header. Can't even seem to get it to do the "fastboot boot TWRP.img" or whatnot. I've flashed KitKat, Lollipop, and MM stock roms to no avail- they all say they succeed, then continue to bootloop.
I've tried just about everything I've seen on here- but not being able to get into recovery hampers efforts like repairing the persist partition.
Help?
When you boot into recovery, the phone reboots itself? If it does, it could be a sign of a failing power button.
When flashing a stock ROM, are you flashing userdata.img and then performing a factory reset/wipe before booting the phone with a stock ROM for the first time?
When I can get into recovery (without a restart), the phone is totally fine.
I think part of the issue is that the battery ran down while I was trying to do the repair- hence it trying to restart and failing. Power button still seems fine (again, confirmed with a multimeter). I left it plugged in to my iPad charger (since that's a 2A charger) overnight and it was still blinking red in the morning. I moved it upstairs and now I can't even make it that far.
Perhaps the battery was just shot by the time I got the "repair" done, hence the boot loops. Is there any way to revive it shy of cutting open the battery + charging manually (with a bench supply) or just replacing the battery altogether? I may try doing a motherboard swap with my working Nexus 5 just to see if it is in fact the battery.
When the phone is powered off and connected to a power source, do you ever see a flashing red LED? You flashed the correct twrp for the hammerhead?
I would try a new battery because it seems like everything is working.

Possibly hardbricked moto G XT1033 Indian model. Please help.

Hello!
I recently flashed my Moto G with the unofficial LineageOS 16 rom by allstargaurav. Kudos to him for his work.
I unlocked my bootloader, got TWRP, flashed the rom, flashed Gapps,Magisk and started using it normally.
One night, after using it with the battery at 30%, I left it as it was and did not charge it.
The next day, I saw that it was not booting up at all. I plugged it in and the white led light started and did not go off.
The light was constantly on. I searched on google to no avail.
Nothing works and I have pressed the power button and power+volume down for more than 5 minutes.
I cant get to the fastboot menu or the TWRP, the phone doesnt power on at all so I cant do anything or get a logcat.
Please help!!!!
I also got the watchdogs boot animation. That is all I have modified.
Please tell me what is wrong and how to rectify it.
Please help quickly.
I am at wit's end and helpless. I should also mention that this was my first time flashing a rom on any device, but I followed the instructions very carefully. Before this the phone was on stock Lollipop rom, stock recovery and locked bootloader.
Thanking anyone who helps or even replies in advance.

Being unsure what the problem is, I also followed FabioSan's guide on unbricking the phone, but I got stuck on the part where we go to the device manager console as my PC would not recognise the phone no matter what I did.
Also, the warranty has expired long ago as the phone was bought in 2014 and it was only a 1year warranty.
Therefore, I am considering giving the phone to the moto support centre. I will also try replacing the battery as it may be a battery problem considering my symptom of the white light does not fit any hardbricked phone's symptoms. Will notify if it works.
Till then, please help and suggest what the problem might be.
