[Q] Headphone Control Settings - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am currently running blisspop 5 but also use others on the OnePlus One. I own a pair of Xiaomi Piston earphones and like that the 3 button controls like volume work on android devices. My question is if there is a way to change the buttons or add an option to skip track? I know this can be done in the MIUI Rom settings but really don't like that Rom.
Thanks!

Shouldn't double tapping the play/pause button skip track?

Tried but all it seems to do is pause and play, long press opens Google search command, double tap volume just changes volume twice, long press volume scrolls volume

Poweramp has these settings if you use it.
Edit: settings>headset /Bluetooth>wired headset.

How quickly do you double tap?

I've tried rapidly pressing it and slowing it down, it doesn't seem to matter how fast

App to silent all sounds?

Is there any app for the xoom that will turn off all sounds for things like meetings? On the phones, there is one where all you do is press the power button and then choose silent sounds. Thanks!
Tasker , you have to do a step by step config , or try silent mode timer .
use the volume key to bring up the volume on the screen then click on the speaker, mutes everythng.

OP: Use what he said in the post above. It's built into the system, and literally takes half a second to do. That's what it's there for, right?
volume plus(+) app. it has two widgets, one is a profile shuffler. three profiles so either one or two clicks on your homescreen.
probably beats having to bring up settings or pressing the a bit hard to press volume keys.

This works well for the alarms and ringers, but certain apps *ALWAYS* ignore this setting and use full volume anyways.
Personally, I like and use Quick Settings. It works very well and lets you change settings quickly. You can quickly choose between silent, vibrate, sound only, or sound and vibrate with it.
I use AudioManager. You can set up widgets for whatever sounds you want/dont want.
i.e. I have 4. One for only Media sounds. One for only Systems sounds. One for all to be up, and one for all to be off. You create the widget and press it once and then profile will be applied. You can set each setting to a specific volume. For example, if you want to watch movies at a certain volume, create the widget, during the creation, choose the sound volume and save it. Same can be done for music. You can create a widget to have some sounds on, and some off. Its totally customizable and i highly recommend it.
They have a pro version as well.

I forgot there were physical volume keys. Thanks for the pointer except it only handles 2 of the 3 things that has sound to it. If you went to settings and then sound, you will notice that the third one with the clock is not set from the volume keys. The 2nd one is when you click on the 3 sliders icon on the right side after clicking on the volume button.
With phones, I use Silent Mode Jammer which basically turns off all sounds when pressing the power button but on the Xoom, even with Silent Mode Jammer enabled, pressing the power button only allows shutdown of the device.
Xoom doesn't vibrate are you using this for silence?

I installed Volume+, the paid version and I don't see the widgets when I tried to add widgets to the home screen, what is it called? Is Volume+ the app with the volume knob for it's icon?

Never thought about it lacking vibrate. LOL. Haven't found anything to silence it other than using the settings and the 3 sliders manually.

[REQ] Use volume rocker to skip songs?

Hello all. I was perusing the nexus s and nexus s 4g forums and was interested when I came upon their oxygen rom. It offers the ability to skip songs with the volume rocker. Is anyone willing to try and get this working for gummy? I am willing to donate to anyone willing to try. It would also be cool if we could get music controls on the lock screen. Thanks to all the hard working devs and themers.
The first one would be possible for one of the devs to do. The second would require a whole new lockscreen & lots of coding, plus all of the themes would have to be updated with the new stuff.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Agile Lock + PowerAMP = music controls on the lockscreen. They just updated Agile so you can now disable your lockscreen without disabling your power button menu but it's a little glitchy, the dev does promise to release a new version every week as he is still trying to fix it up.
Also, why would you want the volume rocker to skip songs? I would prefer the volume rocker to control volume and use the search/back keys to skip through songs, just me though.

On the Droid 1 roms I used that had volume button music controls you had to hold the volume key to skip but a single press would still adjust volume. Both functions were available with the same buttons.

That's pretty cool, hope it can be done! I usually have PowerAMP set to shuffle my 100+ song playlist and sometimes I get to that song I'm just not in the mood to hear and it would be nice to skip it with a simple hold of the power button.

Yutz-exactly what I'm hoping somebody will look into. Blarrick-I have over 2000 songs I shuffle through. I need a quick way to skip.

It's my understanding that this is a function of ASOP ROMs. Seeing as none have been released yet, I don't think that this is an available option yet.

Thank you for your response. Will the charge ever get a pure ASOP rom?
There is development happening now. No ETA on releases (there never is), but it may be a while.
I realize this might not be exactly what you are looking for, but PlayerPro can partially do what you want.
It can change the volume up and down to be used to skip songs. However, that will be their only function when it is playing, as they will no longer be able to adjust volume.
Also, while it can't put music controls on an existing lockscreen, it has its own that can be configured with AOSP like sliders. It will show album art and play/next/prev controls on its lockscreen.

[Q] Headphone volume controls

So i have an old pair of headphones from my s3. the play/pause button works fine with the M8, but the volume up/down buttons only skip tracks and not change the volume. i can skip tracks with double/triple pressing the play button. would really like to see something control the media volume with my headphone buttons.
im sure it is... but the xda post i found for it doesn't address what i posted about.

I even purchased the oem headphones on HTC's site that says compatible with M8, still no dice. Hopefully there will be a fix soon.
i have the ones that came with the M8 and i noticed only one button. i just dont get why they need to go in their own direction and remove buttons instead of comply with the current accessories and just add the features. i run with my phone in an armband so a one button remote has limited usefulness.
I am in the exact same boat...When I work out the phone is an athletic armband so I don't really have access to it during my workout. I use these headphones: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005I2IVRO/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and I can play/pause by pressing the middle button once and skip tracks forward by double tapping the middle. However, the volume up and volume down buttons are do not function period. Very annoying and hoping there's an Xposed module or an app that can make them work.

App to control music playback w/ vol buttons?

Any of you have a suggestion for an app compatible with the s6 that will allow me to long press the up and down vol buttons to skip to next track/prev track, especially when the screen is off?
Just got S6 and I really need it too! I don't understand why retards don't add this feature into every stock ROM, but you want 2gb of bloatware - no problem!

Lol! I also miss that feature from cm! In fact, I sometimes long press the volume buttons and hate that this is not present on TW full of useless services!
The play/pause button on the headphones on S6:
single press -> play/pause
double press -> next song
tripple press -> previous song
it took time to get used to after being on CM, but it does work out of the box...

control playback with stock earphones buttons

can one skip a track using the buttons on the earphones that came with the phone?
I remember on my good old Blackberry I could double press the middle button and it would move to the next track or radio station, single press will play/pause, long press volume up button would fast-forward a track.
On LG headset I can only play/pause and increase/decrease volume - this sucks.
Anyone had better luck with it?
mine works, double tap to skip, even in Spotify.
do you double tap quickly?
