[Q] Radio app - General Questions and Answers

I just installed Cyanogen in a Sasmung Galaxy Ace 2. I didn't find the FM Radio app, that was originally in the stock ROM
I've searched some radios in Google Play but they are all via IP... Does someone know how to get the radio back? and not only for this smartphone... including others
Thank you

its easy!
Open your stock backup and goto /system/app and search there the radio app. Copy it to your current rom and reboot! (if crashes then open with zip and extract the library files in /system/libs) :good:

[Q] Flash Gapps

I just installed Cyanogen 6.1 on my HTC Hero from sprint. Everything works but there isn't any app market. I've been reading and its apparent I need to "Flash Gapps" but I have no clue how to do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
The reason you have to flash the Google apps separately is because Google told Cyanogen (the maker of CyanogenMod) that it's illegal to bundle them with his ROMs. While Android itself is Open Source, the Google elements (Gmail, Market, etc) are not. You flash them like you flashed the Cyanogen ROM through recovery.
You can find the zip files here: http://goo-inside.me/google-apps/
You want the latest mdpi zip. hdpi is for high-resolution devices like the Evo. I would recommend using Amon-ra recovery instead of Clockwork, but for this purpose it's fine. Here's a direct link to the zip you're looking for: http://goo-inside.me/google-apps/gapps-mdpi-20101020-signed.zip

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Stock radio app

Hi i recently flashed the insanity rom to my device and i must say it is the best fastest rom i have used to date, i discovered the other day the only things missing that i use are the fm radio app and the live wallpapers app.
i tried putting the stock apk files on my phone and running them in app installer but it says application not installed and will not let me go any further, i tries adb and sideloader wonder machine and they both return install_failed is there any way you can think of that i can easily install the files on?
Thanks in advance.

FM radio apk need

I accidentally deleted FM radio app from my LG P500 2.3.3. rooted phone. Can anyone upload FM radio.apk and explain the procedure to install back this app?
thx!
Try this link. It was for void forever, but I don't see why it wouldnt work. Just go in and delete the .apks that you don't need and then flash it.

The current version of Spirit FM Free [March25] is not allowing to save even a single preset and the overall media volume is reducing drastically when Sprit FM is launched. Have to reboot the phone in order to fix the volume issue.
I have LG-P509 with CM 7, RC1-Thunderg-KANG (from mod version), running Android 2.3.5.
Here is one radio app that works on my phone, its from the CM7 mod. I believe its from the same link posted by AmeriKan47. You can try and see if it works:
2shared.com/file/abbX7IVU/FM_radio-CM.html (copy paste, I cant post links yet)
Steps, you can use Super Manager (free) to do this:
- Copy the apk file to your systems/apps folder
- set permissions to 0:0 (root:root), and rw,r,r for permissions (user, group, world)
- reboot phone
- Radio app should now show up in your apps collection.
Sadly it doesn't have a "seek" function so you have to manually tune the radio. It can only save 5 stations.
I've tried a lot of other apps but they haven't worked:
- original radio app that I had in my stock ROM: Copying that over to /system/apps, fixing the permissions still shows the file as "No install". The same method works for the app linked. Download link for this one: 2shared.com/file/lEQ9vPcv/FmRadio.html
- Various other radio apps for this same phone linked on different forums: Also did not work.
The author of Spirit FM radio has reduced the functions of the free app. There's a $3 and a $10 one on the market.
I've been trying to get the stock app working but no success. I tried reboots, wiped the caches, fixed permissions etc.

Cand you be more specific please ? ! How do i copy the apk in to the system/app folder because when i tryed to copy or move it there it keeps saying that i need to : try to mount the file system as read-write before attempting the operation . i use CM7 on my lg p500
Edit :
So i'd managed to put the apk file to system/app folder and set permissions to 0:0 (root:root), and rw,r,r for permissions (user, group, world) . Enyway the app doesn't start at all and when i go to app manager the app seems to have 0,0 B total, app, usb storage app, data, sd card . What shoud i do ? Please help

I also removed my default apps from my G3. And I reinstalled it from:
SETTINGS > GENERAL > ABOUT PHONE > UPDATE CENTER > APP UPDATES
You can see a list of installed apps there. Just scroll down to see FM Radio and other apps.
I hope it will helps you to fix the issue.
Thanks,
Praveen

Although this is an old thread, the OP has a P500 Optimus One, not a G3. There is no setting to update apps on stock 2.3.3 for the LG Optimus One P500.

[Q] How to install Samsung Apps on CyanogenMod 9?

I installed [ROM][GT-P51XX][4.0.4] CyanogenMod 9 on my 5113 following the instructions and downloads on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722099 and everything is going great, except I cannot install samsungapps.apk.
I tried copying the file to /System/Apps and rebooting, and when I attempt to launch it, I am informed that it is not installed.
I assume this is because build.prop is modified, but I see that it shows Samsung for manufacturer, and P5113 for the model, so I am unsure what I need to change?
I have also wiped caches and retires, and finally, reinstalled CM9 without GAPPS, done a factory reset, and tried the install.
Has anyone gotten samsungapps.apk to install?
Thanks
CyanogenMod 9, No download to droid is possible.

Hi,
I went through the same flash process of CyanogenMod 9 on my GT-P5113. The version works smooth, what I like, but it turned out that I am not able to download anything from internet, cannot load any apps from Google Play (it load them infinitely), Youtube page displays but does not want to load/launch video (it load them infinitely), gmail cannot save attachments. Could be there is something wrong with write rights to droid.
My internet connection is fine, browser on Tab works fine, gmail works and google play works. The problem is: no download saving to droid is possible.
The I tried to restore to my previous system via CWM-based Recovery 5.5.0.4 and it is not possible to make any (advanced) restore, the report is: MD5 mismatch.
Then I tried to flash to other custom ROMs namely Tab210CleanROM V1 then v1.1 and the finally to Infected ROM V1, none of them would start. Sure I followed all the procedures. All these ROMs got stacked after boot at Samsung window.
I flashed my Pad 2 with p5110 stock ROM P5110ZSLD5_OZSALD5_BRI_Taiwan_Android_4.0.3 as suggested on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722745. Flash worked, but I only used PDA option to flash.
Downloading Issue with Google Play and Youtube remains.
How to solve saving to droid issue, so I would be able to download and install apps?
Thanks, Ian

It turns out you need the touchwiz framework at least, which is not supported under CM9. I went back to the stock Taiwanese rom, and then to 4.0.4 when it came out.

It's just the actual "Samsung apps" app ie the Samsung market. Try it but I don't believe this will help you get keyboard, calendar etc

[Q] Help pls, How to restore SAMSUNG APPS to my tab flashed with CM9

Hello, I've flashed my P5110 with CM9, the rom works fine, however, I need some stock apps badly, such as the Samsung Apps so that I can install some apps from this market -- some of the apps in this market are not available elsewhere.
Before flashing to CM9, I've copied the Apps folder from P5110 to my PC. But now I don't know which files to be copied to P5110's app folder so as to get the Samsung Apps back.
Any advise would be appreciated.

Just search for stock apps on this site or on samsungs site, download it on to your internal memory and install it just like the rom you installed
Cant you not log into your Samsung account and download them ? Or get a stock ROM and push to device.
Thats if they will even work , Not all stock apps will work, but you can try.
What apps do you want ?

I can visit Samsung app's website, but can't download apps on it, because when I click download, it pushes the app to my pad, but now my pad is running CM9, and won't receive the app. That's why I would like to restore the Samsung App on my pad.

Samsung stock apps use samsung framework,
CM10 doesn't have samsung framework, so all samsung apps won't work on CM10.
I've most samsung apps *.apk and all of them can't run on custom ROM (CM9 / CM10)
