XT1033 SMS Bug in CM12 - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well. I'm pretty sure this is in the wrong forum. If it is, I hope the moderators move it to the right forum.
Anyway, getting to the issue.
When I flashed any of the latest Lollipop builds of, be it CyanogenMod, CrDroid, Paranoid Android or others, I am not able to send or receive messages via SMS.
I'm not the only user facing this issue, a friend of mine as well is. We both own the Dual Sim variant of the Moto G (XT1033).
Whereas when I flash an old buid (like the ones from December last year), SMS is working fine.
Are we the only people facing this issue?
If you too are facing such issues, kindly comment and if you know any method to overcome this, you're welcome to share your ideas.
Thank you in advance and cheers! :highfive: :good:
EDIT : A fix has been found. I'm guessing you'll have to factory reset your device, flash a ROM and then flash the zip file found in this link.

Thank this guy for saving us. xD

yes, i think it's bug for XT1033, but someone said flash DK 3.8 will fix that bugs. I don't try it.

I'm using the DonkeyKang Kernel (Version 3.8) along with the December 24th build of CrDroid.
When I flashed the kernel with a newer build of any ROM, WiFi was broken. I never tried sending an SMS then. Can someone test and report back?

Your phone converted or uncorverted GPE? My friend said if moto G convert GPE and flash CM make that ROM can't sms.

UNABLE TO GET CALLS FROM ANYONE. BUT CAN CALL SOMEONE - GPE ROM ERROR - a big hit

I'm using xt-1033. I do not use the second sim. I therefore installed the xt-1032 falcon rom .gb(uk firmware). I later installed a couple of ROMS (PACman ROM and SlimKat ROM) for testing (I was a former active ROM tester, now this activity has been reduced by me).All showed the correct signals and I was able to use mobile data. But the problem which arose was that of getting calls. My mother called me thrice but not even the screen showing to attempt the call showed up. The screen was normal and din't show up any calls. I myself later tested the call thingy. It worked fine for outgoing but couldn't receive calls which were incoming.
WHY?

this is the main problem in all roms of xt1032
there are currently 2 roms in which mobile network works flawleslly
1.AOSP
2.Cm 11 by doublepranks
xt1033 will gain official supportit si being worked upon and for making gpe work follow this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2661022
The reason for this not working on custom roms is that no one is merging msim other possible issue is here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2685275
I am trying to build pac for xt1033 will surely share if it works
I salute you

Any Kernels that work with GPE Moto G?

So, I picked up another Moto G, I missed it a lot after selling. I have unlocked it, rooted it, and installed TWRP on it thus far. I tried a few ROMs, but I really like the stock GPE setup so I converted it over. I then tried to install a couple of Kernels on it, but can't get the phone to even boot.
Are there any Kernels currently out there that will work with the GPE Moto G? I would really like to tweak a few things in there, and have access to the 1.6OC.
Cheers
Aero Kernel, but it's still experimental. Make a backup and see if it works
Unfortunately it doesn't have 1.6GHz OC but the kernel is very smooth and good enough anyways

My new kernel should work for you. Would you like to test? Its still in testing phase but the only issue I have with it now is it doesn't go into deep sleep. I am working on that today and hopefully have a new build today as well. If your interested I could send you a link.

Yes! Definitely. Once you have figured out the deep sleep issues, please shoot me over a link. I would be more than happy to test.
If it came down to it, I was going to wade through teaching myself to create one ...
Does any other kernel work with converted gpe moto g?

[Q] IMEI issue in CM12

The phone is not recognizing the Sim card, it seems like I lost the IMEI since I updated to CM12, it was working fine when I was on SlimLP. Could someone help me get the IMEI back? I would be grateful if you could provide me with some information regarding this issue and how its dealt with in general.

Hey there,
I'm not devs, just a noob user, and I may not find any answer, but could you be more detail or information about your phone?
i.e: P31xx or P51xx, recovery ver 6.0.x.x, which cm 12 version you take from, andwhat triggered the problem, probably download a new apps or flashing new kernel or something.
As far as I know, my P3100 working smoothly using cwm 6.0.5.1 and cm 12 build feb 15, from Android-Andi (not the Slimlp version).
Perhaps someone could help. Cheers.

The one posted by Android Andi.
It works fine except for the IMEI, tried flashing via CWM and TWRP.
Now I have switched back to SLIM LP which doesn't seem to have the issue. Anyways, thanks for your reply, CHEERS.

Pressy, Klick!, Xiaomi Mikey button & CM12 ?

Hi all,
first of all, my problem is related to Moto G 4G (peregrine model), i don't know if (but it is probably) this occur with Falcon.
I bought a clone of pressy button (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2742665) and i'm pretty happy with it on stock rom, i can answer call with one click and launch torch with a long press on it.
The strange thing is that it doesn't work on any custom rom i tried, i tried with all available apps, but none handles the clicks as it should, so i assume there's something to do with CM 12, maybe it is missing some drivers that are present in stock rom ?
I should downgrade to CM11 to see if it's working or not... i'll tell you later.
Does anybody use such a thing and got it working on a custom rom ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you and have a great day.

Sim Toolkit problem with Cyanogenmod Roms

Hello XDA, this is my case:
Whenever my Samsung devices are flashed with Cyanogenmod roms, the Sim toolkit just doesnt work properly. I have a GT-S7582, flashed with several Cyanogenmod roms, it's all the same. Same goes with my Galaxy Tab 2 7" and Galaxy S3 but with others roms that is not CM-based, they are all just fine. I'm from the Philippines and whenever I use the Sim Toolkit(any options and menus there) my network provider just replies with errors ("Invalid access code" from Smart specifically), and the same with other networks. I really love CM in my devices but this bugs me because I really need the Sim Toolkit. I tried searching for fixes for days and this is my last resort. Thank you in advance!

how about trying DU Rom by no_name ?? (coz DU is based on AOSP not CM)
if the problem is solved let me know........
i might be able to port the STK for DU to ur CM build
@QwertySDuos2 Sir, the toolkit DU ROM by no_name works. Thank you in advance sir!
Edit: The Toolkit doesnt work also. Just the few options are working but not all. In the DU Rom, another error is occurring: When I check my prepaid balance in my Sim account, the toolkit continuously sending request the check my account resulting in flooding my inbox with messages showing my balance. I dont why this is happening. Maybe I'll stick with stock for the mean time. Thank you sir!
Edit: Is it possible to port from stock rom?

I don't think these errors are related to their build because these happen to all my devices flashed with Cyanogenmod(now the DU). Btw, thank you sir!
