I use cm12 based ROM.
How i can fully unroot the device?
I need to launch one bank app, and it didn't work with rooted devices.
I'm trying to install SuperSU2.45.zip and uninstall root from this app, but it doen't work. In developer mode Root is disabled. Trying to use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2607273 but it doesn't work on LP.
Please, help me!
Try installing the official cm12 nightly builds that are being produced. I don't think they come pre rooted but I'm not 100% sure.
If you were on cm11s there's xposed modules that can hide root, but they don't work on lollipop

They are pre-rooted, root access is just built into Privacy Guard now instead of as a separate root app.

Ok here is the thing i have few questions about rooting my device and flashing custom kernel.
1) I want to root my nexus 5 and yes i saw the tutorials its not my first time to root a device but its first time on n5 so if i root it and install custom recovery and keep stock rom and kernel will i be able to recive ota updates without any problems? Or if i just root it and keep the stock recovery will i be able to update?
2) And my second question will franco kernel work fine on stock rom? Because if my first question is not possible then i would flash franco kernel on my device too and later when an update for stock rom comes i would flas it manually of course if that is possible too?
Thanks for help.
Hi,
All the replies to your questions about update are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2523217.

No because you're rooted it won't accept the ota update due to modified software.

Just flash back the stock kernel and the stock recovery(if using it) and roll back any system changes u made.
I like the phone, the software, just want my color calibration feature back. What options do I have and how do I go about about? Its not rooted as I was happy with how the phone was unlike my s3, the only thing I miss is the oversaturation and CM team just took that feature out
flash back to a previous build would be my 2 cents.
here is one of about 3 in the General section to do this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-return-opo-to-100-stock-t2826541
hey
Is there any other method of getting the color calibration settings back? Are there any custom roms that have kept this feature?
The screen on the OPO is terrible compared to the LG G2. It is washed out and dull.
I believe AK kernel has colour settings built in.

I think I remember seeing rgb settings with Franco kernel as well but u need fku paid app to make changes on his kernel
AK u make changes in synapse after you flash his special edition version of UKM
Thanks for your reply timmaaa and EK69.
I'm presuming "AK" kernal would not be compatible with Android 5.0? I've currently got Cyanogenmod 12 (unofficial) installed. Trying to find the link to the kernal.

There's a lollipop version of AK. It's in the Original Android Development Section. Or click on my index thread in my signature for a link.

@ak does have a kernel that works on lollipop cm12 based ROM like timmaaa said it's in original android development section. That kernel also works on cm11s or cm11 ROM too
Franco kernel AFAIK is limited to just KitKat at this time
Cheers

I have been running Paranoid Android 5.0.2 and keep having battery life issues. I have trimmed my apps down and even re-enabled the SystemUpdateService for the Google Play Framework which doesn't help. The service also keeps automatically being disabled. Another issue I have is lack of xPrivacy on this version in addition to various OS 'quirks'.
What is the recommended 5.1 ROM for this device that does work with the newer versions of xPosed/xPrivacy?

AFAIK all ROMs work with Xposed except TeamEOS (bootloop) and Temasek (you need a modified version of Xposed). Xprivacy works well now on 5.1.

Is there a recommended ROm that does not add much bloat to the stock OS? That is why I chose Paranoid to start with. It is not stock but yet doesn't add a bunch of unnessesary things.

CM, Terminus, OptiPop... but I didn't try all ROMs so you should read the OPs in Android Development and Original Android Development.

Let the users make their own decisions. Cataclysm is closed source and will never include themes. 2 points for which some users won't flash it

Not interested in Cyanogen anymore. No real reason other than they got a bit big.

While open source is a plus and is preferred I can sacrifice if enough people recommend it.
I cannot seem to find screenshots of either OptiPop or Terminus.

Try by yourself. Screenshots are useless as long as you know what are the main features. You can apply layers or themes (ROM related) if you want custom UIs.

+1 for Cataclysm, nice rom based on factory image!
I would like to flash a CM 14.1 based ROM on my OPO, but i need to be able to use my bank app which relies on NFC. The fact here is, if i use any ROM different of Cyanogen OS (official), it says my device is unsecure. (Didn't try OOS but I prefer COS). Is there any way of being able to use that app on an unofficial or official cm nightly rom? Thanks.
Short answer (If your bank app uses safety net like Android Pay does): no. You can't use a modded OS if you want to be able to use something like Android Pay.
Someone who knows a workaround (if one exists) can comment beyond what I've said. Sorry, bro.

Most of the CM 14.1 ROMs are pre-rooted , that means the rom is already rooted. It triggers the safety net api used by your bank app. You should try Tugapower which is pre-rooted with SuperSu bu Chainfire.
In the app menu, you can search for full unroot. It will remove the root from the system . Then you can check for the SafteyNet helper app on Play Store. If your device passes the test, the bank app will work on it.
Or if you want root access, you can use SuHide which is supported by Tugapower rom. Google how to use SuHide.
You can also try AOSP builds of updateing and kwoktopus.
It doesn't come with root by default. It may run bank app on your device.
Hope the answer helped! Thanks
After countless hours of attempting to install SuHide together with the latest SuperSU v2.78 SR1 on my Oneplus One I've given up. I've also tried SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3.
This used to work before just fine, I'm trying to do this on "cm-13.0-20161220-SNAPSHOT-ZNH5YAO3XH-bacon" ROM. Is it because of the ROM that I keep getting a bootloop?
Because I used to install this just fine, on nightlies. Though I can no longer download those. :/ (If anyone could provide me a nightly before the november security update, you'd be a saint. I suspect this is the issue.)
Many thanks.
I had that problem, too and I'm running on a AOSP build NOF26W. You can also find it here in the One Development forum. If you're using suhide for snapchat, try out to install and log in the app before rooting. It solved the problem for me. Maybe also for other apps than snapchat. Don't know what causes the problem though... Hope that helped a little! Cheers

I'm trying to play Pokémon Go with root switch, it worked before but since the november Android update it's been killed off. Might you have a Nightly before the november update of CM 13?
Thanks for the info btw.

I was running CM14 before, but I don't have the nightly anymore... I suggest using Magisk as Superuser App instead of SuperSU. It comes with integrated hide option, so you won't run into the suhide problem.
