Anyone know how to get Titanium Backup to actually see a backup directory as writeable when pointing it at the external card? It seems to only see /mnt/sdcard2 not /storage/sdcard1 like ES Explorer does.
Thanks.
I used an app on play store called something like...SD card fixer. It changes the permissions to write to the card. Worked for me. Must be rooted though.

Thanks! It worked! Yay! At least Titanium, Root Explorer and the rest can now write to the external SDcard. Works for me.
Again, thanks. :good:
No problem....Glad it worked for you

I backed up my call logs, messages and apps with mybackup on my Nexus. So when I switched to the G2X I thought I could simply install mybackup and restore data! As I did when i went from g1 to nexus. It says "restore from /mnt/sdcard" when i click that it says "error...no backups found at current....path" The backup is in the rerware folder, i even copied it to other folders, but when i look at my sd card using Astro File Manager I don't even see a folder called /mnt/sdcard. I mount phone to computer and don't see a folder called /mnt/sdcard. How can I get my data from mybackup? Thanks
Try the folder
mnt/sdcard/_externalSD
You might have to move them to
Mnt/sdcard for it to work.
Looks like that is how the G2x handles internal and external memory.

Yes, what the poster above me said. I had to do this exact same thing. Your SD card is mapped to:
/sdcard/_ExternalSD
Go into mybackup pro and on the main screen hit menu and go into options then backup location and type in /sdcard/_ExternalSD don't worry about the /mnt only /sdcard/_ExternalSD and it works fine for me now!!

Also Titanium Backup will give you that choice, as well as a ton of other options, like to make a backup copy of apps and their data to the sd card. Flashed my phone and restored all my programs with saved passwords data and everything using this program. The ROM I have now automatically installs all apps to the sd card unless they are required to be on the internal mem. :)

Hey Everyone!
Is their anyway to change the "download" location for google play store?
Eg: if there is not enough internal memory to download the apk file, can it be directed to the SD card instead?
Nope that isn't possible but if you root your phone and install titanium back up pro (if you don't want to purchase it, just find a cracked version on the net), then you can move any (that's right, any) app to the sd card so you can free up space to install the app from google play. Afterwards, you can move the app back to the phone
You don't need the cracked version to do that, the free one works fine.
You could also do something along the lines of link2sd, where you link the download directory to one on and EXT formatted partition on the SD card.

That's what I thought. I juat tought there was some magical way of redirecting the dls .
I already use titanium backup. Love the app! Sdmaid is a good one too as it helps clear the useless cache files

I think CWM backup failed attemps due to lack of space have eaten my sdcard somewhere with hidden or partial files, as I deleted /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/ and the problem persists.
My files are below 2GB. I have tried several tools such as SD Maid but couldn't solve the issue. Even walk all my sdcard tree manually with ES file explorer (hidden files included).
What do you recommend me to Iook at? I want to start using CM10 and test AD2P

After Uninstalling the Game, you need to delete data from There downloaded folder. If you can find the folder of there, then can perform the action.

It should help you identify what eats your sd card
Finally I found the source of the problem. CWM was doing backups in /sdcard/external_sd/clockworkmod/backups. Any backup that failed - for example due to lack of space - won't be seen by CWM, and apparently, by any file explorer in Android itself. I could see them in my PC. After removing I'm back to a normal situation
I rooted with weaksauce and then tried to remove the Verizon bloatware with "no bloat" and a couple of other apps like it. They say the apps uninstalled but then they just get downloaded again.
What did you do to remove or freeze the crapware after root?

How did you get Titanium to write to the card? I keep getting "folder is not writable" when I try to select a backup folder.
Beamed from the holodeck of my Nexus 7 FHD.

Titanium Backup is the first app I downloaded after I rooted and I have had zero problems with it so I'm not sure what the issue is? I am just using the default storage location, have u tried to switch the location or has it just given you problems from the first install?
my backup directory is: /storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup
That's what he is saying. .. TB works fine if you use default location (internal storage), but won't write to external sd card as the folder location.

My bad! Not sure then... I know that with our root method that we can only write to certain directories but I don't have a need to change mine as of now so I have not tried but I will report back.
I just froze/disabled everything for now. It does the job.
Are we not able to write to system yet?

Thanks, that worked perfectly. With 32g internally, that's plenty of room to use for Titanium (and spare the space on the external sdcard).
