myXperia doesn't work - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
I'm trying to set up device locating, in case it gets stolen/lost.
So basically I signed-up using my gmail account, and when I visit myxperia website, Xperia Z3 shows up as added device, but I can't locate it or get it to play sound alert.
Any suggestions?

Froyo and google chrome

I remember seeing that with FROYO we could link to Google Chrome and auto transfer files from the PC to our phone wireless over WIFI. Has anyone got this to work?
Here is a link from Ekostons He has it all in one place with directions. http://droidgawk.com/2010/05/22/froy...e2phone-links/

good job, makes it easer
I didn't find the directions too difficult to follow...though they didn't really make it very clear that the apk needs to be registered first.
However, even though I register the app on my phone with my email address, my computer still says unregistered. Any ideas? I'm using google apps with a custom domain. It took my login, it just said it was unregistered...
Good guide EkostonS. I got it working. But uhm what's the purpose for this chrome-phone extension? It just opens up the link on the phone? Perhaps I am missing the bigger picture, haha.

[How To] Fix push notifications in the official Facebook app

Hey guys,
So, you know that official Facebook app is supposed to have push notifications, right? Yeah? Well, it apparently does, they just never worked for me at all. Turns out, there's a fix, and it's quite the strange one - you have to sign into the Facebook app on a Blackberry. Once you've done that, you'll start getting push notifications for wall posts, comments, and event invites, with an entirely new notification icon. Weird, no?
Of course, it's not like I had a recent BB device just lying around.. Thankfully, the Blackberry emulator software, available from RIM's site, works just fine for our purposes. I've written up a guide for the curious, with links to the emulator downloads and so forth.
Seems the fix was found in May over at AndroidCentral, but I'd certainly not seen it posted anywhere I frequent, and had to spend some time searching for a fix to stumble across the post - hence this topic.
Let me know if it works for you.
I saw this a while ago. I stopped by an at&t store, used a display blackberry, and yes, it works beautifully!
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
Works for Nexus 1 using CM7, did it with the emulator
Cool cool, glad to hear it's working.
Has changed the way I use Facebook on my phone, really, nice to have a functional app instead of it just occasionally telling me something I already knew.
Hey thanks! Its working

OP: I have issues downloading " Blackberry Email and MDS Services Simulator Package"
It shows the download is interupted. I tried changing the browser, rebooted etc but no success. Is there a mirror to that link ?
Okay i finally installed everything but how to start the emulator ? There is no shortcut on desktop or in start menu. Please help me out :\

How do you get Android notifications for other Facebook notifications, such as people commenting on a photo, etc? I'm still reliant on email for that.

That only has options to enable email notifications, nothing else. Am I missing something?
As a separate issue, I can't get these push notifications working in the first place. My settings have the Blackberry app listed, I don't know what is going wrong.
I've NEVER received notifications from facebook until now!! My phone just came alive and notifications started to flow. The Blackberry trick works.
One thing though, I had to open the Options dialog during BB Facebook app and check the "Blackberry notifications" option.

Is there anyway to reinstall my apps across devices?

Why I am asking is my Focus S (great phone) is making an hissing sound when I use my camera w/flash or flashlight. ATT is going to send me a Lumia instead is there anyway I can reinstall all my apps painlessly? Thanks for your help.

Just use your same microsoft ID again (windows live) and go to windowsphone.com. log in and go right where it shows your phone, there is in this tab a site for purchase history. from there you can click on every app to reinstall again. it will send then the app via wifi to your phone from this pc you are logged in. the was also this app reinstall but it doesn work anymore because microsoft changed the way how apps and the app site works....
when WP first came out, any apps I downloaded from the marketplace on my computer automatically installed as well...
it stopped doing that a while back, but was a cool feature.
thanks for update
used the reinstaller and other things but didn't realize I could do that from the wp website nice

[Q] Random Device showed up in Google play

Hello Everyone!
So today I went online to the google play store to download an app, and noticed there was a random device (Samsung GT-I9300) showing up in the drop down menu. I went to device manager and it says it was registered 4 days ago with T-Mobile. There are a number of issues with this:
1) I'm on Telus
2) I don't own a Samsung GT-I9300.. I only own an htc one and nexus 7.
Both my htc one and nexus 7 show up in the list just fine, but there is still this random phone connected to my account. Should I be concerned? And if so, what should I do? Is there a way to remove it, not just hide it?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Did you edit your build.prop to try and change which device the Play Store thinks you have?

Then unless you've given access to someone knowingly, it would be a good idea to change your password.
I suppose you can contact Google after doing that and ask for more information.

This recently happened to me and freaked me out too. Until I did a bit of research and backtracked my timeline a bit. Turns out it was Bluestacks on windows. So if you recently installed and logged into your google account on the bluestacks player, this is the device that will be added.
I hope that helps any other future googlers

Amazon Alexa

Hi,
Can someone drop the HTC Amazon Alexa app?
I am in a country where it's no supported. Do it's not pre installed. Although I do have a Dot. Which works fine with my home automation.
Thanks.

Hi there, here you go. But she is still a bit buggy.
Seems to work pretty well for me, I'm in Australia, so missing some features. I had to get a second Alexa apk (from google) to enable skills etc, but works well with my Harmony hub (turn on TV/music etc). Understands my accent a bit better than Google too
