[Q] Smartwatches- pedometer data - Other Tools & General Discussion

Hi, guys! A few days ago I decided to try developing an app for android devices and smartwatches, but I'm a newbie. I want to know if it's possible that the app on the smartphone/tablet can use the data from the smarwatches' pedometer.

Hi,
Yes, assuming your are looking to develop for Android wear, you can access sensor data though Google Fit's API.

[Q] Questions about Android Apps

Recently got the captivate and am a newbie to the Android OS.
Got a question about background apps.
If an app is in the background, is it still capable of sending/receiving data on it's own?
For instance some apps have the ad supported, does that mean even in background , it will continue to pull in ads from 3G?
Or if google map is in background and I am still driving, will it continue to pull in maps as I drive?
Appreciate any info on this.

[Q] Is it possible to run iOS apps on android or windows phones?

I tried searching for this but it seems all the posts I find are from 2012 or 2011.
There us 1 app that I need for work that I can only find in Itunes App Store. Is it possible to run an iOS app on either Android or Windows? As far as software I prefer android, but I have become used to the iPhone because of work. How ever I am disappointed with the screen sizes with the Apple devices. Is there an emulator out there that would work?
Thanks in advance
David
No.
Try looking for alternative apps or contacting the app's developer if you want.

Removing Bloatware, how to?

Hey everyone, first post.
I just picked up a Gear S2 classic. I started playing around with it and so far I have a few questions and issues with a couple things. I'm pairing it with my Galaxy S7.
My first and foremost concern is the removal of the stock and bloatware apps. I realize most people may use the fitness aspect of the watch, or its other built-in features, but I won't. All of the pre-installed apps are cluttering the watch for me. For example, I won't be using the email app (I use Gmail solely), Buddy, Find My Phone (I have location turned off), S Health, Running, S Voice (I thoroughly prefer Google), Samsung Pay, World Clock (it's really irritating and pointless to have 4 different clock apps on the watch. They should be lumped into one like on the phone), Messages (unless this can work with Textra), Music Player (I use another music app on my phone, although I do appreciate that this one somehow controls the music once it's started on that app on my phone). This is a make or break point for me as far as keeping or selling the watch.
Next, is the only way to use the Galaxy Apps store to have to sign into your phone with your Samsung account? I absolutely don't want to be connected to the Samsung Cloud. This is the only reason I'm not using Samsung Pay. If I sign into anything on my phone with my Samsung account, it signs my whole phone in and connects me to the darned Samsung Cloud. Many people have their information synced up there even with all sync options off, so I want to avoid this.
Third, some notifications like the ones from Snapchat are not being acknowledged by the watch at all. And yes, all notifications are selected to appear from the Gear App (Snapchat included). And no, I don't have the blacklist setting on.
I appreciate everyone's help with this, thank you so much. As much info as possible would be wonderful.
I am just wondering why you bought this watch if you don't want any of the connected features that come with it? . In any event I don't know of any way to remove pre-installed apps

I mean, it's supposed to be something like the best smartwatch out there in a lot of ways, and I wanted essentially an extension of my phone on my wrist that could function on its own too. I also have a Moto 360 first gen I play around with here and there, and for a first generation smartwatch, it does well. So far, with the issues outlined above, I can't really say the same about the Gear S2.

Question GW4 Hidden Features, Ideas, Possibilities, and Experimenting Discussion

Hello... I'm curious about the extended functionality of using both the Galaxy Wearable App and The Wear OS by Google app with Galaxy Watch 4.
Normally, you can't sync to Google Wear OS once the Galaxy app is synced. However, is it possible to force or trick to system to connect to both of them? Possibly through two accounts? Ive been messing around the secure settings and wondering what capability they can have if assigned values manually.
Such as the voice_interaction_service or voice_recognition_service. Google Assistant for Wear OS is possible through the Wear OS app for OTHER wear os compatible watches. I KNOW GA SUCKS RIGHT NOW! That's not the point. The point is unlocking or tweaking the watch to unlock additional services or features.
Let's talk about potential features and experimenting! I wanna hear what you guys have tried and had no success with and what you had success with even if it is only a peice of the puzzle. Currently, I'm using Bugjaeger for tweaking my watch and AutoWear to add automation possibilities.
