Light blue ... I assume it's when wifi is turned on but you have no network/internet connection.
So check in a different wifi, if it works there.
When the connection issue is only in a secial wifi network, you may have to check the wifi router's settings (that your device is allowed to connect).
Or try to forget the network in Settings > Wifi > ... and connect to it newly.
If it doesnt help, please register on xda and post in the Xperia E3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.

The device is just 3 months old and I dont want to root it to preserve warranty..... going to service center is the last optiin for me as they are going to take much time... anyone faced similar issue ? Is there any work around apart from rooting the device ? Seeking some help .... really frustrated...

Thanks for your suggestion... I did that after posting question here ! but it didn't worked as well !
If you're sure that it's not a problem with your network but your tablet and a factory reset didn't fix it, it should go to the service centre.
Can it connect to other wifi networks? What do you mean by never turns on - does it say its on but not do anything?

Hi There,
The device will connect to some network only when it's wifi is turned on ! The WiFi status shows "Turning on the WiFi" but it never turns on and shows me available networks to connect...
Anyways looks like visiting service center is the only option for me ! Thanks for your time mate !
Regards,
Prashant
Same problem here, BUT!!!

Hey,
I have the same problem after updating my (tab 2 Wifi-3G 10.1) to Android 4.2.1. the tablet was working so well after updating, but after that I wake up and I had that anoyning problem. the problem is when I click on the setting and try to turn on the wifi it shows only (turning wifi on...) and nothing happening. it feels like the wifi cant start or establish the connenction, therefore no available wifi routers or Hotspots can be listed.
What happened the last two days, I tried to check if the tablet will work again after 2 weeks no charge and drain all the battery, SO IT REALLY WORKED BUT ONLY FOR 5 MIN and the problem came back again.
I downgrade to Android 4.0.4, tried fix apps like "FIX MY WIFI", also download the patch file " wpa_supplicant" and all these steps did not really helped or fixed this issue.
Internet and google didnt really gave me the good answer and also there are many tablets with this problem.
NOW, If anyone KNOW anything about that problem PLEASE TRY TO POST YOUR SOLUTIONS.....
Thanx alot
Hay guys,
My rooted Xperia GO was working flawlessly before I decided to give it a factory reset. Buf after this reset, WIFI, USB and BT are not working.
To explain how they're not working:
- The WIFI on/off switch is sometimes in sort of a "disabled" color. I can switch it, but nothing happens and it remains in this color. The other times the color is ok, but as soon as I try to switch it, it again gets that color! I believe it is "trying" to turn on the wifi, as this is the message I get when trying to turn on the "WIFI Hotspot" too.
- The Bluetooth on/off switch, cannot get switched on; It immediately jumps back to its previous positions (off).
- The USB: when I connect it, it feels it. Because it starts chargin the phone, AND when I disconnect it it gives me a reminder of water resistance and stuff. But for example in the USB Tethering section, it says "USB not connected". And also I don't see any notifications on the dashboard.
Please help me urgently, as I've just moved to a foreign country, and my phone is a vital thing to me now!
PS: Note that I did not unroot it before the factory reset!

Yep, it happens. I think there occurs some problem with the device settings, walk to your near-by service center or browse or call for such assistance. If possible exchange your mobile device. Have no idea to help. My friends are using Sony Xperia of different versions. so they being enjoying. As far as I know with wi-fi hot spots you can try change your router settings and so that you can browse securely.
I've just posted this question on a more appropriate place:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2355413
But I don't know how to close/move this thread.
Good evening, XDA. I have a Nexus 4, the bootloader is unlocked but it's otherwise running the 4.4.2 factory image as of this post (act of desperation).
I have a working data connection on cellular: syncing, downloads and all such matters work just fine. But the connection indicator in the notification shade toggles will not turn orange. If I put the device into airplane mode, then exit airplane mode, it's orange for approximately 5 seconds and reverts to the white state.
If I enable WiFi, the same issue occurs: orange for a few seconds, then reverts to white.
I am no beginner. I've modded hundreds of devices. I know the OS like the back of my hand. I've rescued dozens of devices by jtag. I cannot state strongly enough how many troubleshooting steps I've taken. If it was on Google or XDA, I've tried it: verified APN settings, cleared services framework, go back to stock, try a new ROM, try a new modem, try a new kernel, airplane mode and back, swap SIMs, etc. etc. etc.
I am here because I am hoping the collective wisdom, as a last resort, can solve this problem. How does the same issue persist on both cellular and wifi data?!
And while we're at it, does anyone know why my Nexus 4 doesn't exceed 0.6Mbps on 5GHZ 802.11n?

It turns orange when you do not have a data connection. Thats all this indicates. Other than that I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. After your phone has made a connection to either wifi or mobile data, it takes a few seconds to properly set up the connection, then turns white again.
White=connected to the internet
Orange=connection problem
I'm by no means a pro, if I'm wrong I'd be happy if someone corrected me

I thought orange was the new blue in terms of indicating connectivity! So to confirm: not only did they move connection color-coding to the drawer, they swapped the states? e.g. color = no connection, whereas it used to mean that you DID have one?

Take a look at this article for a decent explanation:

Hello,
A friend of mine got a problem with his galaxy tab. The WiFi button doesn't turn on. When you try to turn on the button, it gets greyed out and there is a message saying: "Turning on..." After 5 seconds the button turns OFF again and this goes on and on and on.
The WiFi used to work properly for about 1 year, but now it acts like this.
It is definately not a router issue, because all other defices work fine with wifi on. It also doesn't turn on when I appoach a different router.
Then I rooted the tablet using Odin, but that didn't help.
I read through several forums and people with the same problem did a factory reset, but that didn't help either.
Anyone that could help me please?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I'm talking about GT-P5110, using Android 4.2.2 and build number JD39.P5110XXDML1

try wiping cache partition and also reset router if you ever changed some settings
Just reset the device
It happened to my p3100
And it worked for me
I installed the 3g/4g optimizer app (see screenshot) after reading about it in an article. After installation, I changed the speed to the highest setting. I rebooted (as instructed) and was unable to get my hotspot to function. I changed the setting back to normal and rebooted. I still couldn't turn on the WiFi hotspot. I uninstalled the app, rebooted, still no WiFi hotspot. I did a factory reset, no hotspot. I had been running the hotspot up until the first reboot to fuel my tablet. I press to check the box "turn wifi hotspot on” the check shows up, albeit grey. The connected icon never shows on the notification tray my other devices can't pick it up. I also noticed when trying to turn on bluetooth tethering, settings is forced closed. I DO HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION for my hotspot. Can you please help me, my hotspot is vital to me.
Seriously? No ideas? Surely it's not over EVERYONE'S head...
