Update: 3/2/2015 I fixed some battery icons when charging. Also fixed when battery become transparent.
Hello guys! I just ported some icons from my S4 systemui.apk(4.4) to my phone's systemUI and got a nicer interface. This should be helpful. Bye!
Note #1: I'm working on the battery scale.
Note #2: I'm also working on stock 4.4 touchwiz UI
Note #3: Everything is ported from S4's systemUI (Except some because it bugged so I retextured), I just rescaled and renamed them.
Note #4: This is for GT-S7270! FOR OTHER VARIANTS, PORT IT MANUALLY
Installation: *Requires ROOT*
First, goto ADB
adb devices (check device, if not listed, check manuals)
adb shell
su (requires root!)
mount -o rw,remount /system
chmod 777 /system
chmod 777 /system/app
exit
exit
adb push SystemUI.apk system/app (Make sure it is "SystemUI.apk", it is case-sensitive)
adb reboot
Now you should see the new interface.
I don't mind if you want to copy my work.
See attachments below :good:
Hei, nice job
can this work on CM11?
Works in galaxy ace Lte Gt-s7275?
Will this work on GT-S7275R?
It took me 10 mins to port it for S275R.
Going to post soon.

*****YOU MUST BE ROOTED*****
This will theme well over 90% of everything you see that has to do with the android os and blur if its still there.
Download my files here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=59KOD7MS
By downloading this you agree to take full responsibility for the actions you are about to preform.
Original files if needed http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0RNAMSQ3
If you have kousch's recovery installed, make a back up, if not use root explorer and make a back up of the following file.
/system/framework/blur-res.apk
download the other original system files here
Sorry no MM method only terminal emulator, so you have to suffer through typing about 10 lines of commands....
Unzip the entire contents onto your sdcard
open terminal emulator
su
mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
cp /sdcard/Services.jar /system/framework
cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk /system/framework
your phone will auto reboot. If you havent already applied a changed services or framework the boot animation will take a long time. If it by chance freezes, or does the boot sound but never shows the screen do a battery pull.
Once your phone reboots you will see a new lock screen and dark status bar with white font, if this is not the case you need to redo the steps above.
If you have root explorer, long press on the /system folder choose permissions. Make note of what permissions are set, grant everything permission for now. Change this back when your done. Failure to do so may cause an apk to not apply.
If you prefer you can reboot after each line command by simply typing reboot and hitting enter, just to make sure it boots clean, but its really not needed.
Put capitol letters when seen!!!! failure will cause duplicate applications!!!
Dont apply anything blur you deleted and dont want on your phone.
In terminal emulator
su
mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
cp /sdcard/BlurPhone.apk /system/app
cp /sdcard/BlurCalendar.apk /system/app
cp /sdcard/BlurContacts.apk /system/app
cp /sdcard/BlurHome.apk /system/app
cp /sdcard/Browser.apk /system/app
cp /sdcard/Gallery3D.apk /system/app
cp /sdcard/Music.apk /system/app
cp /sdcard/Settings.apk /system/app
this one goes to new directory so pay attention, dont get type happy
cp /sdcard/blur-res.apk /system/framework
now type reboot and hit enter
phone may or may not have an extended boot.
If you use handcent and want it themed, uninstall your old one
su
mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
cp /sdcard/com.handcent.nextsms.apk /system/app
mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
reboot

Whens the download going to be up?
Ok. Now that i reverted to stock i can't get my themed google maps to install.... sucks. Also my themed launcher pro keeps my registation code. So if i release that its stealing. I will work on these two tonight and see what i can do.
Either way, a dl will be posted in the morning.
Sorry

any time, head over to my 2.2 thread for a few upgrades, they still work for users on 2.1
I have finally received my OTA froyo 2.2 update. I am considering rooting to be able to use custom themes and such. I have a few questions.
What is the best and easiest method to root/unroot my 2.2 droid X?
What all do I need to download in order to successfully root?
What is deodexed? ( I keep seeing this as necessary for certain themes.)
What do I need to download to deodex my droid X?
Thanks in advance.

Best way to root/unroot:
Answer: EE THIS LINK: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-x-hacks/82584-droid-2-root-dx-ota-2-2-a.html
or Rootz wiki has some links if you search for it on google. I'm not sure that links are allowed here, or I would provide it.
ANSWER: There is a one click root/unroot made by Sil3ntkill (could have spelled wrong) over on alldroid.org. I have not used this method tho. I used the step by step process.
This also has the link for what you need to download as well! =)
DEODEXING:
Deodexing your phone modifies the .apk files on your phone (for the framework and services) I believe, which allows developers to then make custom themes, as these "deodexed" files can be easily modified and replaced.
How to Deodex:
I recommend just doing some searching. I think if you look in the themes/app sections of the Droid X forum here you can find an update.zip such as the following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793664
This is the black glass deodex method. You use the update.zip with koush's recovery and then use his back to stock method to remove the theme (black glass) that comes with the deodex process.
There are a lot of links out there that will tell you how to do the manual process. I did it manually myself, but have had a decent amount of experience with linux/command line. If you don't have a lot of experience, I might recommend using a method such as the black glass method I mentioned above.
If you are confident you can do a manual process, go for it! I think it's always more gratifying to try things the manual way... but that's just me! Hope this all helps =)

Once you get rooted, check my thread out for easy deodexing... {Deodex OTA 2.2}
EASY ROOT WITHOUT ADB
you will need:
*rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin
*su
*Superuser.apk
*Some sort of terminal emulator in the market.
*enable USB debugging.
Settiings -> applications -> development -> USB debugging.
* EDIT: any line below that starts with a * is optional
- open up your favorite terminal emulator program
- cd /tmp
- cp /sdcard/rage*.bin /tmp/ (without "/tmp/" worked for me)
- chmod 777 rage*.bin
- ./rage*.bin
- ignore it's output, we are thinking outside of the box here, just wait for it to finish and return a $
- now go to settings -> applications -> manage applications -> running -> terminal and force close
- relaunch the terminal app and you should be greeted with the # symbol. you now have a root shell
- the rest is pretty much the same.
- mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
- cp /sdcard/Superuser.apk /system/app/Superuser.apk
- cp /sdcard/su /system/bin/su
* cp /sdcard/busybox /system/bin/busybox
- chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
* chmod 4755 /system/bin/busybox
- mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
- exit
Once your all done, go ahead and reboot your phone.
*if you decide to unroot.
- open your terminal app
- you should see a $ symbol, now do the following
- su
- now you should see a # symbol
- mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
- rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
- rm /system/bin/su
* rm /system/bin/busybox
- mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
- reboot your phone.
Has anyone begun working on rooting and customizing roms yet? I know the device isn't out for a week or so but I would figure I would ask. My vibrant I so much better rooted and I wanted the same experience on this sidekick.

Oh really? Cool. So far all I've used is one-click root for the Samsung Epic.... is this similar? I'll check it out, thanks!
Has anyone tried using SuperOneClick yet?? I will probably try in a bit and post back with my results..
Ok... well I didn't try SuperOneClick, but I did root it via the rageagainstthecage exploit...
Want to help me do the exploit on my SK4G to root it man ?
Give me instructions ?!
I got it working on mine too. The basic steps were
1) enable debug USB mode on your phone
2) install Samsung drivers for the phone - right now Samsung's site seems to not have a choice for the Sidekick 4G's model (SGH-T839), but I grabbed the drivers for the Vibrant (at www .samsung.com/us/support/downloads/SGH-T959ZKDTMB) and they worked.
3) get adb shell working on your PC (Google it)
4) download the rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin and Superuser packages from the links in this page: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=HTC_Hero_%28CDMA%29:_Full_Update_Guide (be sure to unzip the files into the directory where your adb.exe program is unless you've put it in your path)
5) reboot your phone and plug it in
6) adb push rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin /data/local/tmp
7) adb shell
8) cd /data/local/tmp
9) chmod 755 rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin
10) ./rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin
11) wait until you get booted back out to your DOS command prompt
12) adb kill-server
13) adb start-server
14) adb shell
15) you should now be at a # prompt. The first few times I tried, I wasn't - I was at $. Doing this from a fresh boot seemed to be the trick. Reboot your phone and try again if you're getting a $.
16) mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/stl9 /system
17) exit
18) adb push su /system/xbin
19) adb shell chmod 4755 /system/xbin/su
20) adb push Superuser.apk /system/app
21) adb shell mount -o remount,ro /dev/block/stl9 /system
22) exit
23) reboot the phone then run an app that requests root, such as Root Explorer, to verify
(p.s. sorry for having to mangle the URL's above, XDA won't let me include links since I haven't posted 8 times yet)

Just to note, on step 16 and 21... it is /dev/block/stl9 rather than st19
Also, after step 20, I had to run the following commands for the superuser application to grant root privledges to applications..
adb shell echo "root::0:0:root:/data/local:/system/bin/sh" > /etc/passwd
adb shell echo "root::0:" > /etc/group
Awesome to see it being rooted so fast.
I'm really interesting in getting this phone but I'm not in the US. Does anyone know if the phone will work outside US?

Dang, good catch, thanks. That's what I get for not copying and pasting from my terminal window...stupid, since I was just chastising two people at work for making the same mistake yesterday. I've edited the original post to prevent problems for people who might start before reading the entire thread.
Interesting about having to create a passwd and group file...I've only run a few root apps so far, but they've worked without me doing this. I wonder if it's app-specific.
Now to start removing some of the damn bloatware this thing comes with!
19) adb shell chmod 4755 /system/xbin/su
i get stuck on there it says unable to chmod no such file or directory . there's SU in my android-sdk/tools
i'm so glad this thing got rooted. i used to be a scene kid with a kick. i dont have this phone, i doubt i'm going to get this phone considering the sensation is droppin soon.... but for nostalgia purposes, i'm glad it got rooted. now you can really hack it!!!
not like the old ones!!
Good looking out...I rooted mine earlier today. What version of Clockworkmod Recovery are you all using?

Double-check your step 18...that's the step that copies the su file from your computer onto the phone. I forget the exact output format, but it shows you a Kb/second number of how fast the file transfer went when it finishes successfully.

I'm not brave enough to try putting the ClockworkMod for one of the Samsung devices on the list onto mine, for fear of bricking it. Don't know enough about that works as far as hardware differences go.
I have removed the APK's listed below from /system/app with no apparent ill-effects. Not that YOU should remove them necessarily - just that they're things I don't have a need for:
AccountAndSync.apk
AmazonMp3.apk
AppPack.apk
DriveSmart.apk
DriveSmartHelper.apk
install_flash_player.apk
LiveWallpapers.apk
LiveWallpapersPicker.apk
Memo.apk
MiniDiary.apk
MobileBackup.apk
MyFiles.apk
PhoneSetupWizard.apk
Twitter-2.0.1-121.apk
vvm-signed.apk
Though there must be something I don't fully understand, because even after a reboot, Amazon MP3 and AppPack are still on my phone, and they still work.
FYI, don't remove Settings.apk - I got stuck in a loop where the launcher kept crashing then reloading itself (thank goodness I was able to put it back in place with adb).

Will this phone get a proper sub-forum on xda?
Advantages or disadvantages
- Odexed ROMs are slightly faster, deodexed ROMs are slightly slower
+ You can make custom themes for your ROM
+ Performance los is negligible.
Requirements
xUltimate - http://www.droidforums.net/forum/xeudoxus/47283-release-xultimate.html
Busybox installed
Root
Automatic deodexing - Method 1, by r33p
1. Connect phone to computer
2. Start xUltimate, we will now get the required files from our phone to deodex and zipalign it which we will describe in the 3rd step.
3. Select option #15 then "do it all".
Deodexing (little harder, but contains useful information for your future Galaxy Gio modding experience)- Method 2, by me
1. Connect phone to computer
2. Start xUltimate, we will now get the required files from our phone to deodex and zipalign it which we will describe in the 3rd step.
3. On the main menu of xUltimate, choose option 5 (Pull and deodex all). Everything will be done for you here. Don't worry. You will see all your finished files in the folders 'done_app' and 'done_frame' which are located in the installation directory of xUltimate.
4. move folders 'done_app' and 'done_frame' folders to your sdcard, you can find these folders in the directory of xUltimate as described in the previous step.
5. Make sure the sdcard is not mounted to pc anymore
6. Open Windows Command Prompt and type the following commands.
adb shell
su
stop
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/stl12 /system
rm /system/app/*.odex
rm /system/framework/*.odex
busybox cp /sdcard/done_app/* /system/app/
busybox cp /sdcard/done_frame/* /system/framework/
chmod 644 /system/app/*
chmod 644 /system/framework/*
mount -o remount,ro /dev/block/stl12 /system
sync
reboot recovery
Click to collapse
7. Now data and cache reset in the recovery menu...
8. reboot
If one of the commands, for example 'cp' is not found, try putting busybox in front of the command:
eg: busybox cp /sdcard/done_frame/* /system/framework/
How to odex again
This may put you in the right direction. You may need to edit some steps.

I am curious to
I suggest you google deodexing and zipaligning.
Deodexing in short means that it will allow you to have custom themes.
Zipaligning improves performance of the apk/jar files when reading
There is a lot of information you might want to look up!
I just added r33p's suggestion. Thanks!
Dhuu, just google it.............
I did, but it gives no answers.
I thought it was about the holy grail, or the fountain of youth..............
But no..........
But comes close
So tell me, does it works on the fly or must you reboot to aply changes?
I tiedy this metod and it works. Tank you
I'm having a problem..
I'm on xUltimate, I go to the advanced menu (15) and I type 1 (Do everything) and then it says that I don't have files in done_app folder.
Please help
Edit: I have rooted my phone, it's on Gingerbread.xxkpo. Do I have to Un-Root my phone and then do this ? Also can I root it back when the ROM is on ?
Please reply fast :S
I'm having this issue,,, what does it mean? i pulled out all the files with the automatic process and went fine. But then in the deoxed process:
How can i solve it? Thanks :3
Hello Friends,
Here with a simple project which will help many users like me READY COMPLETE DEODEXED APPS & FRAMEWORK for your stock firmware
Reason behing making this ....
I have come accross many users asking for how to deodexed ROM.. Note 3 being very new device has very less options available in terms of roms etc to choose from so i decided and learned how to deodexed apps and frameworks and uploaded here so users with the same firmware can just use ADB SHELL Method with Root access and apply this deodexed files and make the complete ROM DEODEXED without any issue
Note : It will just replace the current apks and frameworks files with deodexed files
These files are taken from "INS-N900XXUBMJ1"Change List 01.10.2013 -} 1624790
U can apply these apks / files on N900
You have to install Using ADB Method "How to Setup"
Requirement
N900 firmware N900XXUBMJ1
Rooted Device
USB Debugging Enabled
Download
Here
Use the below command one by one once your device is connected and give access once its asked on the device to start the process
HTML:
adb shell
su
stop
mount -o rw,remount /system/ /system/
cp /sdcard/done_app/* /system/app/
rm /system/app/*.odex
cp /sdcard/done_frame/* /system/framework/
rm /system/framework/*.odex
mount -o ro,remount /system/ /system/
reboot
