Hi!
I want to say, that I'm not a serious developer and I'm programming just for fun.
So, I'm presenting you my first application that I have ever released to public.
It's free and if you find it useful you can leave some feedback.
For those haters out there - cmon, it's not a serious project, not meant to sell or stuff, so please keep your mouth shut
SMS RECORDER v0.9
About:
Android recording application which is activated remotely via SMS message.
How it works:
Download and install on device. Configure all the necessary settings like keyword, which will activate recording, FTP parameters for uploading file to remote site, recording time etc. When application is started it will check for SMS which contains the magic keyword. When keyword is found recording will start and afterwards uploaded to your remote FTP site and send you back reply sms.
So...?
So you can use your old/backup/dedicated Android phone/tablet/whatever device to act as remote, discreet recording device.
Technical Details:
This is BETA, bugs are expected. Feedback welcome.
Audio is recorded in 3gp file format.
Recorded files will be saved on device too
SFTP does NOT yet work.

So is this a "spy on your girlfriend app" ?
Pp.
^Ha, ha, no, it's not . Actually, it's meant more like a programming training for me and as a gadget, not as a serious purpose app. This is my first app with sort of working GUI.

And downloading and I'll be using by the next week, I'll give you some feedback
Looks like a nice app.
Is there anyway to download without Android market?
(my Android phone is not preinstalled with Android market and the manual install is not yet succesful)
I've attached the apk for you.
Wow, I was just planning on looking up an app like this and it pops up on the XDA news feed. Thanks so much! I'll try to post some feedback too.
I'm trying this application for some days now and it is really straight forward to use.
Today I forgot to stop an activity, so the timer showed to much time used for this project.
Is or would it be possible to edit the recorded time?
Thanks!

WiFive
Wi-Fi chat
Let the social be with you.
Launch WiFive application and immediately start chatting with whose who is using it too within your Wi-Fi network. No Internet needed. Also, there is no need to set up a server. Simple, eh?
But of cause there are some conditions.
In order to receive messages your device should not ignore broadcast UPD packets (as long as I know some devices are doing it, for example HTC)
Your Wi-Fi network should not block UPD packets (as long as I know some network managers are doing it). But it's OK if you are creating Wi-Fi Spot yourself. Google it, it's pretty straightforward.
Also, be aware of some possible message loss.
Have fun with unlimited communication!
Application is also available in Google Play.

I believe you can't make that open source..?
Hi your application is exactly what I need. I want to built a rover controlled by an arduino that is connected via usb to the first android phone. With the second one I want to send the control data (speed, direction). I've already implemented the control of the arduino and i can stream the video to my controller application. Your application would be the perfect way for exchanging the control variables between my phones.
If you could post the source code it would really help me a lot!

Google announced today that the Hangout app for Android and iOS will get a major update. It starts today with the Android, the version for iOS will follow later.
This update will be focused on "staying connected with friends and family", who then is the purpose of basic Hangouts and any messenger program.
We see point point what are the new notes, although Google says that there are others not announced, but find out only after trying the app:
Sticker : penguins, pirates, koalas and of course cats at will! 16 new sticker pack (and more coming), saying with images what words can not.
Filters for video calls : sepia, vignette, black and white and others. Just a swipe during a video call to try them all and make the conversation more original.
Last seen : the same way as WhatsApp, Hangouts will inform us of the last activity of our contacts
Smart suggestions during conversations : for example, if someone asks "where are you?", Hangouts will show an option to share our location on the fly.
And beyond that, of course, the graphics in Material Design .
At the moment we don't have the APK to share, and for now the Play Store does not give hints to update, but we will update this article when it becomes available the file to download. Bookmark this and Stay tuned!
Hi,
I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I want to share some website & Android app I made.
Last year I thought about how it would be fun to just speak to my laptop/phone and get animations in return.
When I looked for such a website, I couldn't find it, so I made it myself:
voiceflick.com
I also made it into an Android app:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.voiceflick.voiceflick
My nephews and nieces love it , I hope other people will also enjoy my website & app.
I made it just for fun, it has no ads, or anything else that will bring me profit.
The website only works on Google chrome, because it uses Chrome's built in speech recognition.
This was the first time I ever made an Android app, so there might be some bugs
If something doesn't work, please let me know, and I will look into fixing it
All feedback is welcome.
I hope you will have fun with it

More info about the app:
To save battery, VoiceFlick only records while you hold the mic-button.
All returned animations are appropriate for all ages.
The animations are rated G: General Audiences – all ages admitted.
VoiceFlick uses Google App for speech recognition.
So if something doesn't work, please check if Google App is installed and working:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox
The voice records are not send to VoiceFlick, it is processed by Google App, (Google App can be configured to use offline speech recognition).
