When will android one get android 5.0 update? Seems like it's taking forever.
The devs are working hard. Most of the releases are not very stable and are currently in alpha stage. Be patient and keep calm. Good things take time
The MOAR rom recently became available.

I am sorry if I have Posted in the wrong Section... I have HTC Desire GSM , ROOTED and have Cyanogen 7.10 as OS. I am very Pleased with this ROM ,but I wondered will future Updates of this ROM be available for this Phone ???? or will I have to get a more up to Date Phone ??.Will Ice Cream Sandwich be the next big Update to Android OS
CM7 is still showing updates on the changelog, so most likely will be another update. However, there were a few things that came up with the CM7 team that kind of slowed the process down. The daily updates to the nightlies stopped about 2 weeks ago. Not sure about your second question, as to what the name of next major Android OS will be called.
For the last months CM was updated on a regular basis with the newest versions of Android. So, for the future I'm sure if your device will meet the requirements for the update CyanogenMod will provide it.
Hello dear friends !
here arose a question for me , about calling some custom or official ROM's ; what is the difference between ordinary releases and Nightlies releases of them.
It may seem a simple question, but I will be thankful to everyone answer me....
thnx a LOOOOOT !

hi
daily updates are nightly, every month the RC release that contains more 'updates nightly. After when a rom does not have bugs and 'head is released stable
Nightlies are like experimental or starting releases.the people interested try it,and the developers work hard to make it stable and usable for day to day use.i am a noob
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
Ordinary Releases or sometimes in roms RC's are largely redone versions of the older versions with usually more features, bug fixes, and sometimes a complete rebuild/overhaul of the ROM. They are usually released from every few weeks to every few months. Nightlies are released daily or near daily with small bugfixes and sometimes new features. Sometimes could be a redo of an unstable build from the day before due to problems like bootloops and others which are due to a bug or a kernel problem as I used to deal with.

Sorry to dig this thread up, but I didn't want to start a new thread about nightlies when I found this one!
I am currently running CM 10.1.3 on my Xperia Tablet Z (SGP311) and was tempted to install the latest 'nightly' version... CM 10.2.
What I was wondering was... is there any chance my device could need flashing back to a stable build from installing nightly builds? It took a lot of perseverance to get CM 10.1.3 running on my tablet and since Cyanogenmod can now be updated as if it was the standard android (I mean you can just check for updates and install without any hassle with flashing) I want to avoid having to flash my device again.
So 5.0 is out on the SDK. Has anyone decided to try to start making an AOSP build of Lollipop? I'm new at developing and I am currently setting up my environment. I have my own captivate and would like to start building AOSP for it with anyone who would want to start

I have plans to do it as a project. I make no promises however, but I can't see it being terribly difficult.

I too would love to see lollipop on my captivate if you have the time, and would be more than willing to beta test if needed. Thanks
Looking for Lollipop in captivate
Hi,
I also eagerly waiting for Lollipop roms [captivate.] And willing to test roms on my device.
I'm currently in the process of building my development environment so hopefully lollipop won't be too far off
Hi all.
I've been using for the past months slimsaberCAF by yoshi.
All developers involved in slimsaber development are moving away.
CM stoped working on the 5.1.1
I was wondering, which groups will continue develop 5.1.1, because 6 still has problems and I do not want to use it as my daily driver.
Thank you
I don't think that we need any more development on slimsaber now. The rom is fully stable without any bugs. I'll just wait for the 6 to get stable. Probably by end of this year or early next year. Till then just enjoy the Final build of Slimsaber CAF
Since Android Oreo 8.0 will release in a few days
I just want to know that will the developers create a custom rom based on the new android 8
I have been using my Sony Xperia L for so many years & I have used from 4.2 to 7.1 All of it
and now I'm using the nougat rom its very stable and I like it very much
If custom Oreo is created please give me a reply .Thanks
Whoa, slow down there cowboy.
It's not even out yet - and it usually takes a couple of months for the most popular devices to start getting good ROM builds. The devs can't work that quickly; don't forget that these are not official OEM updates.
The OEMs get the source code earlier, and they have entire teams working on them. Error checking (and fixing) takes a lot less time when you have teams that big. That's why it seems like they release stable builds "right off the bat" - but in reality they've been working on them for a couple of months.
If the developers don't want to do it, they won't. If they want, they will. Don't nag them about this, and don't be ungrateful.

Sorry for being so quick
But I saw a video about Android 8 beta running on a pixel device. And I really liked it
That's the reason that I asked about the ROM
And for making a ROM it's really hard and I know it after reading your reply
I thank all the developers for the amazing work they have done and I'm really grateful.
I'll wait.
Thanks
