Hi, I use a note edge N915G (Australian vodafone) , but I have found that it is very hard to find a custom made ROM for this model, so I wonder if I can flash a custom made N915F or N915S ROM for N915G note edge? Thanks in advance.
Todd
From what I can gather so far no you can't sadly. But I would gladly accept someone proving me wrong lol
915S most definitely not as it is for exynos. You need Snapdragon rom...
The 915F rom might work but you would need to have a custom recovery and re-activation lock off(unticked) or you could end up with a brick... Just make sure you have you're stock rom ready to flash in case you need it...
Samsung removes the region lock from the Note 3 to put in different models per region for the Note 4/Edge to stop the grey imports.... Real Sh!theads aren't they...

Many thanks, mate. It is sad no one has created a customised ROM for Note edge N915G yet, and I really hate Sumsung made different models per region for Note Edge .

I've been doing a little research on the hardware specs of the g model and the t variant. From what i can see, it looks possible, just on the surface that is. I've also read that people have flashed different region firmware with no probs too, this was mainly for language options, but they report all functions working. So i'm gonna have a crack at it tonight. I've done my Nandroid back up, so i believe i am safe to go back.
I'll report findings a little later.
Samsung Note Edge Australia.
Ok just boot looping. Not good
I'm also interested, more importantly with the release of CM12 for Note 4. Just wondering what happens when you flash a Note4-ROM over a Note Edge. Apart from brain implosion or explosion, do you guys think it's remotely possible?
you can not flash SM-N915S for example to SM-N915G it will fail , if you are SM-N915G you Can flash all SM-N915G Roms even these made for different region

Should work but you will loose your Edge notifications... I tried to replace the Aircommand menu with a custom one from the Note 4 but it wiped out the Edge notifications - replaced the framwork-res.apk file...
The Note 4 has the same specs as the Edge except for the screen. so it should be possible, however be VERY careful as this is an expensive toy to brick on a possibility...
And of course you can't flash a 915S rom, it's an exynos CPU. The 915G is a Snapdragon CPU, however, you should be able to flash a different region rom for the Snapdragon CPU through a custom recovery as long as the partition table doesn't need to be flashed too...
neckabutu, it would have to be a modified stock rom... Unfortunately it won't be flashed through ODIN like other phones can do but through TWRP or CWM...

sounds really tempting. Do you think one could perhaps flash a Note 4 ROM (i'm thinking more of the CM12 rom), and add specific .apk such as the cocktail service applications and it's related frameworks manually back to the Edge so that the edge screen works again?

As I said I'd be really careful doing this. If you're interested in trying though I would suggest the same region rom. If you have the n915g then use an n910g rom.
Best chance for recovery. Also, and this is a must, have a nandroid backup on external storage in case of bootloops.
Might be all the difference between a brick and a working device...
I found the custom n915fy rom just bootloops.
Bloody Samsung and their quest to stop grey imports... As it's my device I should be able to put what I damn well like on it without their interference, and buy it from wherever I want.

I have been wondering the same thing. Have you gotten any further with this?
I'm in South America and would like to flash an INT ROM hoping to get LTE working here. LTE Band where I am right now is 1900 mhz. Would flashing an INT ROM "unlock" the phone for that? Are there other "consequences" that one should be aware of when flashing an official International ROM? Any comment on this is appreciated :good:

no i haven't found any information on it sadly :/
Im searching information about too. I tried install some 925F roms then flash 925p kernels but no luck. GPS not working, data/voice not working, even no mobile operator setting in setup.
You would need more than just download and flash!!! You need to port libs, xmls, framework, apps etc to make it compatible with Sprint
Anyway of getting a sprint compatability zip?

Thanks for the info. In my case I don't need to make it compatible with Sprint since I'm in South America. Any suggestions on how to flash an official International G925 Rom?
I think that will happens only when somebody write unified kernel for F/I/*/*/*/and P version of this phone. I researched this and found that noone from kernel makers want not do this. In nearby thread one programmer offer to try modified bootloader for 925p (to be able rollback to 5.0.2). He can't even find testers(. No one want brick their phones.

S6 G920F roms on S6 G920P?
Dear users
I would like to have S6 International roms on my S6 Sprint but I can't,
is there a compatibility for sprint file to fix the other touch screen and other processor (exynos and snapdragon)?
Please, can anyone reply if you know it?
PS: Sorry for my English, it's not good.
Hey, what's up guys?
Need some info please....please don't bash me...lol
I will be getting my Note 5 soon and would like to start tinkering with it, I would like to know if i can install another firmware on the device? I did some research and to my understanding, only corresponding firmware can be flashed. e.g. any other country N920i firmware can be flashed on a N920i variant.
I will be getting a T-Mobile variant soon and would like to know if i could somehow wipe the device and flash another variant's firmware?
I know it could be done with the HTC M8 so i'm a bit curious if it can be done with the Note 5 device too.....
p.s. I chose the t-mobile variant because of all the attention and development its been receiving compared to the other models. International variants usually have the most developments, roms and especially faster software updates....but t-mobile seems to have the lead for now with roms etc. Feel free to enlighten/correct me please......
I have a S7 Att model.. Can I only install the 2 s7 rom in the att section or can I use any s7/s7 edge rom

You can't flash a stock ROM for a different device, bootloader etc are wrong and it will fail (if you are lucky) if it flashed you'd brick your phone
Only way to flash a ROM for a different device would be if it was modded to be flashed in TWRP etc, with the bootloader/modem removed, or whatever was incompatible
As long as the two devices had identical hardware
For example, the G900F S5 and the G900T S5 are the same phones hardware wise, but you can't just flash a G900T stock to the G900F or vice versa, you need to mod them and remove BL and Modem first, then flash with custom recovery

The only stock ROMs you can flash with ODIN are the ones for your model S7
For example mine is the G930F, I can only flash G930F stock ROMs
If you go custom, you can flash whatever custom ROMs are available for that model S7

Hey everyone,
I picked up an S7 SM-G930L yesterday which has come with a lot of bloat.
I'm hoping I can just flash over it with the SM-G930F international firmware. Does anyone know if this is possible?
I tried searching for an answer in other threads, but couldn't find anything which said it would be possible. There's a bit on the US variants of the S7, but I found little about the G930L.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that if you are planning on using Odin to Flash a different Firmware it's going to fail... That's based on my experience trying to Flash Tmo Firmware on a Canadian Note device (accidentally by the way) - But it definitely failed..... You may have better luck with the S7 - But I wouldn't count on it.

No man. It won't work. Just use a custom firmware and by the way, g930l has an unlocked bootloader.

I have tried mine bro. It just don't work. Odin keeps on failing.
Thanks for the replies.
However, I actually noticed on the back of the phone that the model is SM-G930S, despite the firmware being SM-G930L under the settings.
Seems like the shop I bought it from (refurbished) have reflashed it. I may actually give it a go and try the G930F firmware.
Does anyone know if I try another firmware if it will brick/cause an issue with the phone? E.g. will it wipe/reset the phone, or require me to reflash the original?
Also got smg930l phone. Please let me now if you find any solutions. Sms on this is really sucks.
Hi,
I've bought a couple of S6 flats which are potentially American variants, I haven't received them yet. I used to have the G920F and we had BTU and XEU firmware that we could flash which didn't include any carrier bloatware.
My question is, is there a similar firmware CSC for the American variants that doesn't include T-Mobile bloatware for example?
Thanks.
I have the T-Mobile variant S6 Edge, but I don't know of any official firmware that can be flashed directly onto a T-Mobile that doesn't have their bloatware. I know you can flash any custom ROM like OdexLite on it that supports either the G92xT or G92xW8, as they are both compatible with each other. The downside to doing that is that you'll obviously trip KNOX, the upside being that you'll have a very debloated ROM, even more than what you would have being on an official, non-carrier ROM.

Ok thanks for your response, I'll probably flash custom roms on them if they turn out to be full of crappy apps.
Thanks.

There is really many good ROM's with support T-version From those what I tested, every one support T/W8 And also good kernels like N0G33K or Aldeon. ROM's are really diffrent so I cannot recommend you anyone because you could'nt like it But for me best are two S8 ports: Ultimate and Noble and also Ultimate but "normal", S6 stock-based

I'll probably go with odexlite, it's stock based. The phones are for family who just use them for daily use, texting, calls and photos. I used to have noble ROM, odexlite, Griffin ROM etc on my s6 a few months ago before I got the s8.
