[APP][5.0+] Ampere the charging meter - Android Apps and Games

Ampere
You can install Ampere form Google Play or you can download the lates APK from here.
Measure the charging and discharging current of your battery.
The app was at first designed for Lollipop only, but now devices with Android 4.0.3+ are also supported. Please read the pre Lollipop forum..
How to use the app: Start the app and wait ca. 10 seconds ("measuring" is on the display). After this time, the charging or discharging current will be shown.
The current depends on many things:
The charger (USB/AC/Wiereless)
The USB cable
The phone type
Current tasks running
Display brightness
With this app you can for example search for an optimal charger/USB cable combo.
The app is not meant to be mA accurate. It is only good for evaluate which Charger/USB cable combo is good for you.
Background info: The app measures the battery charging/discharging current. If your phone is not connected to a charger, you see the discharging current which is negative. Now, if you connect a charger then the current what the charger gives will be used to supply your phone and the remaining power will be charged into the battery.
If your phone consumes 300 mA without a charger connected, then a 500 mA charger will charge your battery maximum with 200 mA current.
Technical info: The displayed current is an average value from 50 measurements minus the 10 upper values and the 10 lower values. The displayed current can be shaky or unstable or even just zero which means, that the Android system provides such unstable values. Some phones, like the Nexus 4 reports such unstable wide spreading readings when charged with a low current charger (e.g. 500mA), that even the average value is just a joke.
Background info about batteries and how they will be charged: LiPo batteries don't draw the maximum for the full time it takes to charge the phone. If your battery is charged almost full then the charging current will be much less as by lower battery levels.
A nice article explaining LiPo charge stages: http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/charging_lithium_ion_batteries
Dave's (EEVBlog) LiPo Charging Tutorial:
If your Lollipop device (or later) shows 0 all the time: There are Lollipop devices which don't have a working power profile (the new Lollipop interface to get the measured current). But on some of them is the old interface still present and maybe also working. Please use the settings option "Old measurement method" in this case. You can force the app with it to use the old interface, if the Lollipop device has at least one. Maybe it helps...
If the app doesn't support your device, you can collect some info to help. Please read this post in this case.

Measure the charging and discharging current of your battery.
The app works only on Lollipop (Android 5.0+) devices.
Start the app and wait ca. 10 seconds ("measuring" is on the display). After this time, the charging or discharging current will be shown.

Great Work!
Perhaps you want to consider adding a real-time widget and some tasker integration to improve your app even more! Just ideas to make your app even better.

Ah just forget it, i didn't see [5.0+] xD

How is this different than CurrentWidget? Okay, yours looks much better but CurrentWidget sits on page 2 of my homescreen, happily tucked away...

awesome app .
tx so much

really useful.

Showing 0ma for Note 2 Internation version on cm12 5.0.2

Waiting a long time for an app like this!
Thanks!

Would it be possible to make it "locale" plugin? I would like to have toast when charging isn't full speed.

Very nice app!
Should be nice to have some kind of service that would enable stats or graph over time even when using other apps in system, that could also work in background to measure in screenoff

Hi,
Does this get info from:
cat /sys/class/power_supply/battery/*
If so why does it only support lollipoop?

Smart Dock Multimedia Hub

Hello, I'm using Verizon Galaxy S3 (SCH-I535). I need the support of 'Smart Dock Multimedia Hub' - at least on HDMI part. The latest Verizon stock SW worked with that dock was 4.1.2 (I535VRBMB1); unfortunately it does not work at all on any later stock releases. I still have to use that obsolete 4.1.2. Is anybody know any custom ROM with support of 'Smart Dock Multimedia Hub' ? Thank you.
I looked at the webpage provided. It doesn't even show its compatible with the S3
Compatible with the Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy Mega (Not compatible with Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy S 5)

[Q] Why is a Samsung Galaxy S3 faster than a Samsung Galaxy Note 4?

Hey there,
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (octacore running Android 5.0.1) and one of my friends has a Samsung Galaxy S3 (quadcore running Android 4.1.2), also rooted. Yesterday we met and thought of putting them to a test. So we used Haxplorer to search a random number (the same number on both devices) in a random game, and what we had noticed was that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was way too much slower in finding a result than the Samsung Galaxy S3, infact it was about 5x slower!
Now my question is, does anybody know why this happens? I know that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is way above the Samsung Galaxy S3 in specs, but still every time we try we get the same result. I also tried restarting and force stopping all other apps and still without even doing any of those to the S3 it just beat my Note4 by the mile!
Please someone explain to me how this is possible! If any more information is needed please ask me to provide you with anything.

from my experience using a Galaxy Note 2 Galaxy Note 5 or galaxy s6 a galaxy s6 edge, a galaxy s5, a galaxy s4, and even a galaxy s3 connected to both my galaxy gear s and my gear s2 the only one I've had issues with is samsung galaxy note 5 & I think it's kind of hilarious seen as how it has 4 gigs of ram and an octocore processor, that being said the few differences I have noticed in the functionality of the gear when using different Galaxy devices is minimally changed. The apps that will not work are generally not phenomenal apps. And they are usually not updated anyway. In theory if you got an s4 versus any other galaxy device with one and a half gigs of RAM will probably have the same basic usability. I hope this help. I guess to shorten it down if you're trying to save some money. The Galaxy s4 will probably do you just fine. If you want to be 100% sure you have absolutely no issues at all you want the best bang for your buck get an S5. It's almost the perfect device for the gear.

thank you for your answer, this is exactly what I wanted to know. I think eventually I'll get a s4 because I will use it as a second phone only for the gear and little else and buy a s5 only for this seems like a waste ...my phone will remain the main iphone 6 with which I am comfortable in the hope that soon will also be released the app for ios... then there is to say that here in Italy, for what it costs to buy a samsung, to have 4 GB of RAM I was watching the new OnePlus 2 (the same price of the galaxy s4 ......) but in that case lose apps made just for samsung .. shame ..
