[Q] Recovering files from f2fs partition - General Questions and Answers

Hey guys
I made a mistake and wiped the internal storage of a Moto G.
I already dumped the userdata partition to an image file but I fail to find an application that says it supports F2FS.
Do you know any apps I could use?
Thanks

[Q] Data Recovery from .RAW file Internal Memory

Hi there,
I have created a .Raw image from my Internal memory to recover deleted files from, using this tutorial successively:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/general/guide-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705
Now the problem rises because I am using windows 8, and the internal memory image is Linux EXT4 partition.
I have used many software to mount the image including : " Diskinternals, OSFMount, Ext2Fsd ... " but the problem arises because the data recovery software doesn't show the mounted partition even-though it is showing in My Computer.
I also have used many data recovery software that support Linux partitions such as: " Testdisk, PhotoRec, R-studio, Easeus, Geeksnerds, UFS, Active Undelete..." but all are only showing the files that are already there, and I need to recover the deleted files from this ext4 partition!

How can I change my Moto G XT1039 userdata partition from F2FS to ext4?

Hi,
I have a rooted XT1039 I want to use for testing some digital forensics tools and software. The tools I have do not support F2FS.
I understand F2FS is considered to be faster but I need ext4 for compatibility purposes.
I’ve tried reformatting the partition via TWRP advanced format and it doesn’t work - the phone never gets past the Motorola boot loader unlock message.
Does anyone know if there’s anything I can do to change the file system of the userdata? I have no actual data so I don’t mind changing ROMS or Kernels or whatever ...
Thanks!

Partitioning /data partition

Hello, I am interested to know if it is possible to successfully shrink /data partition in twrp recovery and make it accessible as an sd card in the rom, also if it is possible to make it survive an internal storage wipe. I would like to use that as a partition for backup files and flashable zips. Is it possible to complete the procedure without having to lose internal storage?
hi buddy, this is 2018, i guess you query was valid if you had made same post in 2010.. secondly /data partition is unified with /sdcard so your question is not valid at this date
Ok, I see, well thanks for the help anyways, cheers, the devs may delete this thread now.
