Im looking for a one click root! Every root I've tried so far doesn't seem to work if anyone can find one I'd appreciate it!

I read everywhere that in order to root the Droid X on .621 you needed to be rooted before and had bootstrap. Well ive never rooted my Droid X before and I want to root it. Is there any way yet to root .621 without being rooted before? And if not will a way ever be released? If there is a way please thoroughly explain it, because I am a noob at this. Thank you, all help is appreciated!
i own a motorola razr hd (dev edition) purchased directly from moto. its not droid (verizon) branded
i want to root it but i cant find any info for rooting a non-droid razr hd
does it make a difference? will i ruin my phone if i root with droid root?
if i can use the droid root with no ill effect i would be grateful to know for sure,if not, i would appreciate links to the needed pages.

I have XT925 International Version of Razr HD and I rooted using motochopper. It worked. You can find info here in XDA.

Are you planning on running stock recovery? OUDHS rooted for me after I flashed it... wasn't going to bother with stock at all but when I went in to make a nandroid it detected no root & prompted to see if I'd like to root, after which I made a titanium backup as well before cracking into some ROM's - worked like a charm. I assume CWM/TWRP does something similar. Rogers/Fido XT925.

Hello! I bought XT925 just a few days ago. It had JB 4.1.2 out of the box. I tried to root it for a few times without a sucess using several different methods found on the internet. Then I was sucessful with ˝motochopper¨ ! This is, as far as I know, only method to root XT925 with JB 4.1.2. On other android versions everything will work but on JB 4.1.2 XT925 only motochopper works. Phone works great after the root. Don't worry about using this on your device... I had a droid RAZR maxx HD with PAC ROM on it and was in love, and with this phones hardware and the updates to PAC I feel like it would be a thing of dreams, but I would need unlocked boot loader and so I am wary on taking updates as I am worried an exploit will come out for the old version after I upgrade, even though they aren't posting any security patches that doesn't mean they aren't changing it a little. Anyways I am just looking for other peoples opinion on whether I should go through work to unroot update then reroot and hope for an exploit.

He said he HAD a razr he doesn't anymore. I wouldn't be concerned about taking updates the boot loader is probably never getting unlocked. But if it did right now the moto x can downgrade to 4.2.2 from 4.4 so I guess we would be able to as well.
So I would just have to fxz back if an exploit comes out?

I'm not sure it is that simple I haven't really looked into it but I know it can be done on the moto x it is actually part of the root process at this point for the moto x.

i want to use the moto x eclipse rom,
which version of moto x software i have to install?
4.4 for moto x verizon? or at&t? tmobile?
then just boot at twrp and install the rom?
anyone did this before?

BUMP...same question. the dev is working on a version for the maxx, but says they are waiting on a new x to write it on which lends me to think it will work as is. i am sure somebody has done this. if not, can anyone speculate worst case scenario flashing without flashing stock moto x firmware?

You can use Eclipse. You have to use version 3.1.2. Flash it right over the Max's stock 4.4 system. I've tried it. It works perfect.

I currently own a Motorola XT 1080 (also known as Motorola Droid Maxx). I have spent about two weeks now trying to root my phone using guides I have found on here and other sites. However I keep running into either a problem with the guide being for android version 2.2 or earlier, or it not applying to my specific device. I am very new to all this, however I do understand what rooting means. If someone could type up or direct me to a guide for my device using android version 4.4.4 I would really appreciate it.
