[Q] Hide Lollipop search bar - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm on Android 5.0.1 and was wondering if there's a way to disable/hide the google search bar as was on kitkat.
Thanks in advance.

In the launcher - use another launcher - same thing as KK
In Overview (recent apps) - use a custom ROM which has cherry-picked the commits to hide it, or just deal with it being there

So no flashable mod to get rid of it? ICS and JB had flashable mods to get rid of it.

[Q] CM cLock on Rooted Stock ROM [Answered]

I was able to install the CM Trebuchet Laucher on a rooted stock ROM and although there are some bugs, it still functions like I need it to function. Does anyone know how I can install cLock on a stock ROM?
Found my answer, as it turns out lockclock aka cLock is only built for 4.2+

Kitkat 4.4 Theme for Xperia C (Ongoing)

Kit Kat 4.4 theme for xperia c
What's up guys?
I'm a new themer/developer and i want to show my new theme project. While we don't have a custom rom or a stock kit kat rom for our Xperia C,
why don't try to create a theme based on Kit kat AOSP Rom?
Well, until now, Xperia C developers has already ported a custom Recovery, and I do't like to use themes with Xposed Frameworks (many icons and functions doesn't work well).
So, I'm editind Framework-res and System UI, and trying to customize many stock icons to a new theme based on Kit Kat.
Until now, I edited some icons and there are my modifications:
*Edited Status Bar transparency and stock icons;
*Kit kat stock soft keys ported;
*Some Stock Apps installed (Camera, Gallery, etc);
*Nova Launcher based Kit Kat Installed;
*Some others modifications.
Need to finish:
*Port some stock apps to kit kat UI;
*Edit notifications bar;
*Edit System comfigurations to Kit kat UI;
*Port/edit some other icons PNG.
So, if you want this Theme Project, ask what you want and help me to create a simple and clean Theme for our Xperia C.
To install, your Xperia C should be Rooted and with a Custom Recovery to install theme Package update.

I just need to have a little time to odex some apks ported from jelly bean. After it, I'll import icons (I port some of systemUI), and start to work in framework-res after decompiling the same. Well, in some days I upload for you guys systemUI :good:
Yeah..if someone could inject the kitkat platlogo in xc settings.apk...that would be great!:d
It is possible to inject platlogo in XC setting.apk. The problemas is: some apk in system app folder has an odex file, and I have no idea how can I chance this. I port deskclock, google calendar, gallery and some others apk that doesn"t need an odex file.
Send from my Xperia C
do you need deodexed system apps to inject it?, maybe the guys could help you by posting them coz my xc isn't deodexed..the method they specified on deodexing doesn't work for me so just tell us what you need and the guys will supply:laugh: and thank you very much man your work is appreciated:laugh::good:
Placelogos are set in SystemUi.apk not the settings.apk

Man, Sony doesn't tell us any chance to XC be updated for 4.4. Maybe our XC will die on 4.2.2 or if Sony update it, probably for 4.3

[Q] lockscreen stock 4+ for 5+

Hello,
I'm running lollipop, cm12.
Before, I liked the stock lockscreen of ics, kitkat or jellybean : launch apps with swipe, same as stock lockscreen cm11.
Today, I don't find a lockscreen as it for lollipop to launch apps with swipe, with 5 or 6 apps.
Please, could you help me to find a lockscreen old style for lollipop with launch apps with swipe [emoji4]
Thanks.

How to get android pie like recents panel on my device ?

(I m sorry for for all the noobishness in this thread because it is my first question being asked on XDA)
I am on Galaxy J2 2016 with a custom rom installed dotOS v1.2 Android 7.1.2 (ported). I am tired of old vertical recents panel and want to get some new kind of recent task overview. I just want a different type of recents. I think that android pie's recents are very easy and compatible with my old gpu . If it is possible to extract from some either rom and port in the devices's custom rom then please tell me. I tried to get task changer when i was on stock touchwiz ui but android compstibility was one of the problem. The stock rom was stuck on android MM without any OTA updates for Nougat. I was tired out of the compatibility issue so i decided to move to a custom rom. I will be glad if you suggest your views on this.
