Broken glass or screen ? - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Hello,
my poor P6200 has been hit by laptop and screen is a bit damaged.
It works without problem, touch is OK but this huge, long scratch.

So is it screen shield damaged or screen itself?
I've seen some shields available on Amazon for $20 but I don't know to take it or not

wait you have no sreen protector ????
I would say its just the plastic "glass" that is scratched might consider polishing it (please test on a CD first not to dull your tabs screen trying stuff)
its only a bit of plastic so should be fairly inexpensive at your local repair shop
IF you have a screen protector on its most likely just the protector can upload my screen protector pic looks like my screen shattered at the bottom is only the protector 1.7$ well spent

I think it is only digitizer (touch glass) broken, not screen itself, because I can still use screen, touch works flawlessy but it is just matter of time when this crack will make touch worse.
I think that glass is cracked, it cost about $20 and you must tear tablet apart to change it.
Am I right or it is not just glass broken?

That looks like the part you need. From the included picture, that looks like all that is broken.

not sure about that model but the only i had for my old himalaya had plastic all over
I have this case for my trinity and it doesn't protect the screen
The one you might be looking for is also found at e-bay. It is a silicon case that has a hard cover screen to protect the phone screen.
See here : http://cgi.ebay.nl/Capdase-Silicone...tcZphotoQQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I myself bought the aluminum case. Good thing is that I can use the phone while the screen stays protected. Big downside however is that the aluminum case completely blocks the GPS signal. Bummer.
I still look for a crystal clear case that has a flip to open screen protection like the silicon one.
Personally I find the silicon version look like you just put your phone in a condomn.
The shop where I bought the phone from said that leather cases also block about 60% of the GPS signals.
those crystal screens are not hard at all..
I've gone through 2 of it.. most of the time it crack from where the bottom is due to weekly removal of the top to clear all the dust.

Worst screen protector application?

I had 1 tiny fibre under my screen protector and was going to put on a new one.
So I had some fun!

I don't know if you can see it. But I have full strands of hair in there.
EDIT: Oh my, is there some way for me to scale it down for th forum?
you are too free my fren.... =.="
Doesn't look good...
Try an environment with little dust, eg the bathroom after a shower (humidity helps),
Use sellotape to remove fibres, specks of dust from screen or protector,
Make sure the protector is the right way round (yes, there is a top and bottom for the DHD which are subtly different, as I found to my cost - I think your protector is on upside down, looking at the bottom left corner).
I have never has success reapplying protectors (apart from "during" the first application), whatever the manufacturers say. Easier to buy a new one. A lot come in packs of 2 these days
Yeah I know all this.
When I got my mobile the girl at the shop offered to put on my screen protector and I thought why not! Bad choice... She put it on upsidedown...
So I put on my 2nd one. Then the 1 tiny fiber annoyed me so I took it off and put on ANOTHER one.
But this one was super cheap and didn't fit so I got annoyed and scrunched up the protector, chucked it in the bin but then had an idea to pull some hairs out and be stupid and take a picture.
Time to go buy a quality screen protector!

iMyth Anti-Glare / Matte Screen Protector

Bought this screen protector off eBay, the only cheap matte one I could find. Don't fancy paying £10+ to mess it up.
The top quality Japan PET material is imported from Japan : high transparent material and frosted material. Transparency:99%, Anti-Scratch, Anti-Dust.

Some photos of it fitted, as you can see the edges don't stick down very well.

The case if anyone is interested,
You can't really tell from the images but it does make the text soft and it has a hazy effect like you'd find on a old touchscreen computer. I do like the matte finish as it also doesn't show greasy marks as much.
Overall the cost of £2.39 for 6 I can't complain and it will hold me over until I find a better replacement. I don't want to post the eBay link up but you should be able to easily find it.
This has been my experience with 95% of the matte screen protectors I've tried. The *only* one I've been happy with was an SGP one on my Droid X.
Which case is that you're using?
You're going to have problems with your phones proximity sensor because from the pictures above, the screen protector is covering it.. I would suggest you cut a hole on the top left corner of the protector before application..
With this current setup, your phone screen will not come on whenever you receive a call...
Woah, that looks really nice! I just wish matte protectors didn't ruin the clarity.

[Q] IllumiShield S6 HD Screen Protector

Call me a Sammy fanboy if you may, here I am who jumped into the wagon and join others who are so eager to get S6 and was oblige to get a screen protector to protect this $700+ device. I’ve ordered IllumiShield screen protector from Amazon, because at that time it was really selling relatively cheap and also the product has nice review. I’ve received it recently and was totally satisfied. Easy to apply, stick and peel kind of thing, no damn water spray or special potion to use during application. Result was smooth, feels like glass, and does not look like thin saran wraps or so. Easy to take off and re-apply. For stubborn hair and specks of dust, the masking tape did its job wonderfully. So, there’s my new found screen protector.

So have you gotten your screen protector? If so, what's yours?
Yup I am using it too. I tried two tempered glass screen protectors (iSmooth and a generic brand) and they both had some serious halo effects due to the nature of the curved screen on the phone. Too bad, I really like glass screen protectors, but I don't think that it's possible on the S6.
I used illumishield for the Surface pro 3 and it was perfect so I tried it for the S6 and it is almost perfect. You have to get it on exactly in order to avoid the halo effect but it works and it works well.
Yep. The key is to do the installation properly. It takes time to master it but its worth it.

Review Arktek tempered glass

Today i received tempered glass from Arktek. Temp.glass have round edge and i dont have problem with dont stick bottom corner. Glass is little bit smaller that screen but that is ok for me after i try few (6,7) temp.glass. Touch responsiveness of the screen is normal. This is one of the better temp.glass i try. In package i received two temp.glass with all you need for install. Very recomended.

the size of this tampered glass is slightly smaller which is in turn a blessing in disguise. It makes it compatible with the variety of phone cases. I had issues with my phone case and the tampered glass protector since the protector covered more area around the edges, which kinda touched the edges of the phone cover and made it (glass protector) come off often.
Horrible
