[Q] Can someone read the code of this apk for me? - Other Tools & General Discussion

Not sure where to ask this
I bought one of those wifi rear view camera's off ebay and the android app they provided is HORRIBLE!
The app in question can be found at: http://www.agptek.com/download/CarMoniter.rar
The SSID is GLW-CAR-R0001209 with password of 88888 for the camera itself
Can someone look into this apk and find the encoded username and password for this camera, as that's the missing piece that's keeping me from using better IP Camera apps!

Mod please move to appropriate section.

Have you had any luck with this?
I bought one of those cameras too and want to use a third party app to be able to record the video. So far I know the wifi box that came with the camera is DHCP server, gateway address 192.168.2.1 and will distribute DHCP range 192.168.2.2-255. I tried to port scan TCP port 1-99999 on 192.168.2.1 but did not find any open TCP ports.

Nope still here no luck with cracking it either, so far just stuck with what we have now.
Sent from my LG-D851 using Tapatalk

I ran the carmoniter app and did a netstat. It shows that there is a connection to 192.168.2.1 via port 8000.
I also downloaded the IPCAM app to scan for compatible cameras and protocols but with no avail. If this fella is running some form of RSTP protocols, the URL needs to be correct. I may need to use a laptop and mobile router to scan for more activities from the app itself.
I'll update if I manage to find out more (with limited knowledge of what I have here)

Thanks, that would be great!

Friend, My wifi camera is the same, SSID: RCAR0043057 -- downloaded app called PPVideo to watch in the cellphone, do a port scan... port 23 telnet is open AT+ command, then port 80 (user/pass needed), also port 8000 to pass video I think.
Can anyone do some reverse engineering to the ANDROID APP to get the user/pass. Maybe they will have some options like change SSID, network range, and adjust car mark values.

Tethering Via WIFI & Videochat

Guys,
First of all I want to thank all of you for all of your hard work accomplishing TRUE TETHERING on the G1. It works flawlessly. THANKS!!! You guys are geniuses!!!
I have a question to ask with using tether-1.6.tar
Most of my programs I have that require internet access work all for one stinking video chat program I always use to chat with my family while I'm away on work assignment. It's a program called ISPQ. I can log into the program, and it pulls up the directories with all of the users signed in, and I can send quick messages, but when someone sends me a message the picture field is blank and in the directory when you click on a persons name to see their profile the picture area is blank as well. On their website it shows what ports you need opened for the program to run successfully as I'll post them down below. When I used to Tether with my TMO DASH the program always worked so I'm sure there is a way to get it working using the G1 tethered as well.
Thanks again,
Anthony

Thanks for your response. Strange when I run the built in network utility in that program it DOES say it's detecting a firewall when there isn't. Probably a quick uninstall/re-install of the program should get it working properly. Everything else other then that single program works great. Streaming live video and audio works flawlessly as well. Amazing how this is true tethering and it blows the doors off of Tetherbot.
The people who got this all going are like god to me.
Yes! I also tether with this method, and it works flawlessly, I get 135KBpps down. And 85KBps up on edge, and on 3G I get around 900KBps down and 240ish up. It's funny though, after running a speedtest, it said my phone was located in kansas when I'm actually in cali, maybe its a ip address location error. But back to your situation, I haven't had any issues with ports on of the programs that required specific ports to function. =)
The location is correct, T-Mobile sends all their info through a proxy in kansas or some place back east, and that is why our speeds are sometimes slow.

Neoobs, Would that be the case in the Philadelphia area as well? I'm asking of this because if Tmo sends all of their info through proxy in this area as well, that's the reason why my videochat program isn't working properly (laptop/G1 Tethered).
Strange is that when I hook up my old Tmo Dash and tether it, ispq works fine but it's terribly slow running on Edge.
3G gets sent to a different proxy but both are sent through proxies.
I know there are some ways around it just not able to get the info right now as I am AFH

I searched and searched with no results. There has to be a way around this. If I can video chat with the Dash Tethered to my lappy, there for sure has to be a way on the G1.
Neoobs,
Any word or source of a way around the 3g proxy/videochat with my post?
Thanks again......
Since TMO's 3g/edge connection goes through a proxy at the main how could I find out what Proxy IP and Port it is? In the program there is an option to log in through proxy so I guess I would need to know what's the proxy address they use for 3G in my area. Anyway I could find out?
It isn't like a software proxy, it is a hardware proxy, there is no info you can put in to get around it really. I will test this and see.
I can't find the info on how to get around it but I know I did because I was running programs (torrents) that were saying I was fully connected and even had someone remote into my PC while I was on it (was a friend) so nothing should be blocking it. BTW I was using openDNS servers maybe that is what helped.

I'm about to beg you to download ISPQ and set it up (via Wifi Tether) and see exactly what I'm talking about. lol It's actually a pretty cool program and it's a free 21 day trial.
I will download it and get back to you in 24 hours.
Thank you so much!!!!
It all works fine for me, lets me log in and see others. What is the problem exactly?
Thanks for trying it out. I can log in but I can't see the user profile pictures in the directory and also when I receive a qm from someone the picture area is blank. All I can see is the text they sent in the message, not the picture..
Can you run the network diagnostic test in the programs options? Doesn't work here.
Can you see the users in the directories profile pictures and if someone qmed you, you can see their image along with the text?
I can see the users listed in the directories but no pictures of the users and the qms, I can read the text in the qm, just can't see the users image. Funny part of it all is I can successfully video chat in there and I can see the users video while video chatting. Your help with this is very appreciated. You can private me your response if you may.
Thanks again..

[GUIDE] How to bypass T-Mobile's tether block using Firefox

Hello everyone, so I recently finally got blocked from tethering by T-Mobile after a long time of sucking it out of them by being rooted and on a custom ROM like all of us here.
The way they know you are tethering on their network is by the User Agent that is sent to them by your desktop/laptop computer browser. When they see that a regular browser is accessing their network, that's when you get the infamous T-Mobile Hotspot Screen we all hate.
I've recently discovered a Firefox Add-On called User Agent Switcher found here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/?src=search
Download it and install it to Firefox. Then download this (right click, "Save as") http://techpatterns.com/downloads/firefox/useragentswitcher.xml
Go to Tools>User Agent>Edit User Agents (a window pops up) click on "Import.." and add the .xml file you just downloaded.
Then pick a User Agent that resembles the Sensation webkit and BAM! Free tethering for all of us.
I'm using it right now
NOTE: If you use a Googlebot User Agent, you will be able to tether and always load up full webpages instead of mobile versions. - Thanks to The Archangel and chadwick3nser for discovering this!
You can also do the same with chrome.
Been doing it for since the day they released it.

What are you using to block the IP address? I was thinking just changing the IP to not be the standard DHCP that the phone would give you still shows it coming from another MAC address on the same connection and would be obvious to the write sniffing rules?
I realize this isn't a requirement I've been using the UA for a while from canary but I easily see them stopping this workaround w/ better sniffing rules.

This is a very bad advice as pretending to be a googlebot may get you either blocked or banned from many websites (especially if they use ZBBlock) as this behavior is rated as a spammer/bot activity.

Okay I've been tethering fine for a while on FF, but T-Mobile finally blocked me yesterday... I figured out that it was the second I started to watch a YouTube video. Guessing they're able to see activity on my cell account at the same time as my login is accessing YouTube and put 2&2 together...? (That may be obvious to some...)
Anyway... I may try the user agent spoofing but this is really aggravating since I'm traveling right now and the internets in my hotel are $10/day.

Anyone figure out how to use netflix while spoofing in Firefox? I've been settling for Amazon Prime instant video, but I'd love to have Netflix back. With the UA spoof, Netflix won't play movies. At least I haven't figured out how.
This method no longer works for me

Android does not use hostnames, everything uses localhost.
If you have a real requirement for a hostname you can use an alias in the /system/etc/hosts file after the localhost entry. Though most if not all android app are made to work with localhost.
If you are say running an ssh server you would just need your IP address to get to it externally. This will work with any service including something like air droid.

Guess I could've put a little more detail in the OP.
I'm having issues connecting to a forum I use quite often, but only through my phone. The admin asked for the hostname of my device. Which brought me here.
Something about conflicting host names and another banned user.

You can't delete that file. The next time you boot, you may end up in a bootloop. If you are having issues then you probably used some sort of ad block software, they usually have a way to put your hosts file back to stock in the app you used. I use ad away and it edits the hosts file to block ads, but I can put it back to stock from there as well.

Well, then you are getting assigned an external hostname from your cell provider, they do that. I have the same issue with IRC when using my phones. IRC has a way for mobile users to connect over sts though. I would explain, to that site admin, that you connect from a mobile phone and that your hostname is being sent from your mobile provider. And that you can't control that. I can't tell you how to find the hostname they assign, easily, other than asking your cell provider, I had to get mine from ATT, and it was a pia since it is a dhcp hostname and changes with your cellular IP.

Can't they just use your mac address? It's not going to change (unless you spoof it), and it's an easy way to identify hosts.

Yes, you can.. but you probably wanna do it on your computer - root explorer will truncate it and cut off a lot..
Or you can clean it out entirely, and then use an ad blocking app to enable/disable. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34498720&postcount=253

You can edit the host file as you see fit, but blatantly removing it obviously can cause problems because it's a go to file for DNS lookups, and DNS is integral to network operation . If you want to block a site you set the url to point to the local host or more specifically your loopback interface 127.0.0.1
You can remove ad.fly if you want because if the address isn't defined in the host file, your browser, app, whatever is doing the lookup will try your connection's DNS server next. If you wanted to prank someone, you could for example set google.com to redirect to anything you wanted by adding the entry in the host file.

Be careful what you tell people, please, do a little research before answering someones question, if you don't really know for sure.
The hosts file has NOTHING to do with DNS lookups, it is a local hostname file, and is used instead of and before (if setup that way) DNS is used. DNS is handled by the resolv.conf file and tells the os who your DNS server is, there is also another file that tells the os the order in which you perform EVERY lookup (usually that is the nsswitch.conf file).
Here is a wikipedia description of what a hosts file actually does, it is a pretty accurate description:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_(file)
As for the ad blocks, they are using full DNS names to resolve hosts back to the local loopback address which is the black hole of networking in an os (that is because it will send any request back to itself and put it in a null space, since there is no web-server running on the phone or localhost). The DNS search order on an android phone is hosts file, then DNS, that is why the ad block works as it does.
The ad blocking used in scv7 is from a plugin in the ROM kitchen, that does the same thing that ad away does. You can remove the line, but you would be best to remove all but the localhost line at the top. As alteredlikeness mentioned it is best to edit it through adb. Completely removing the file is a bad idea though.
Dns requests will look for remote hosts ip's from host/s file (1st phase). If remote distenation (normal case) is not in hosts file, then the DNS client (in this mobile) will try to resolve it via the distensions lookup table file (2nd phase)
So, by default, the internal loopback 127.0.0.1 is in hosts file,if you added xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx as *.yahoo.com in hosts, the client will connect to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx directly if you requested www.yahoo.com (without trying to look to distensions or to ask DNS servers)
You can trace ad blocking app action (replacing the hosts file with addresses of ads servers and redirect them to 127.0.0.1

What good is that going to do using google dns servers? He is getting a hostname from his cell provider that is conflicting with one that a site that he frequents, has blocked. changing his DNS servers will do nothing to help that. And to the person who asked about the whole deleting the hosts file, this also does no good. Technically this would be a great solution for someone having issues resolving things, but no one in this thread is.

Again you are the one who does not understand. the hosts file has NOTHING to do with DNS!!!!
A hosts file is a local resolution and happens BEFORE dns is ever called. I do this for a living!!!
take a look at the wiki I posted, and I quote from my above statement:

It just helps to explain information in simple most of the time correct terms to people, that may not fully understand. It listed it out, very closely to how I explained it. I have been in the UNIX/Linux computer world for 20 years. I have been doing networking and designing systems for a very long time.
UNIX and linux servers and hosts files existed before DNS existed, so DNS is a whole separate thing from the hosts file resolution.
If you do not like wiki, then here is another link that explains it as I have also said it:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/hosts-files-explained/
If that was meant as a slap, I just have to laugh! But again, I see it too many times that people think they know, but they are only 80% correct most of the time, if you do not know and can not show your work, don't post it. Sounds like you have something to prove here, so go ahead and school me!
Well this thread got a little lively...
I'll ask about the MAC address. Otherwise, I'll just deal with it when I'm on the go. At least for now...the "ban" is lifted on the 14th, so we'll see what happens then.

You can find it on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rosaneng.vpnsettings
Or download the APK below and install it yourself:

Do you feel annoyed every time when you need to access your Home or Office VPN with your Android device because you have to open up the System Settings and then open the VPN Settings?

QuickShortcutMaker
Thank you for your work.
I wanted to say that I am using this app QuickShortcutMaker (see the PlayStore for this, can't post outside links at the moment) to create a VPN-Settings shortcut.
Now I am searching to a way to activate a specific VPN-Profile with one click, but i think its not possible at the moment.
nice!
Actually using VPN service is the best for many reasons like changing IP address, be secured, encrypt your tunnel, speed up your connection, bypassing Firewalls and any restrictions to get free and unlimited browsing.. Personally I am using bVPN https://www.bvpn.com/en/faq/1032/ on my laptop and Galaxy note 4 with one account and I am totally satisfied..

Well depends how you look at it, yeah you will be using your own internet connection to go online and you will be able to access your own network. However it will cost you data from your carrier of course.
For me there was a free option from Asus that came with my router to setup a VPN and there are some free services out there as well (Mostly at limited speed and limited data amounts.). Just google "What is\ How to setup a VPN" and you`ll get all the answers you need:good:

[TOOL][2.3+] Share files over wifi

"Share files over wifi" (ShareBox) it's a new free tool app aimed to easily share files over wifi through web browser
When using ShareBox, you will not have anymore let friends and relatives take your device to show them your photos or videos. They will see them through their own device, be it android, iphone, windows, blackberry or linux, through their web browsers. And they will only see what you want to show in a quick, comfortable way and simultaneously!
As other devices begin to connect you will immediately know what they are watching through the informative Sharebox log list.
Get it at Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.b6dev.sharebox
Features that makes this app special:
Share the files through browser, so you can get them from any device that has a web browser be it android, iphone, ipad, windows, blackberry or linux.
Only shares and shows the files previously selected.
May be used with wifi networks, own wifi hotspot and also on phone 3g connections.
When ShareBox server is on, you are presented with a URL link to see what others are going to see.
As other devices begin to connect you will know what they are watching through the log list.
Very useful for photo shows as it presented by default as gallery, but also has a list mode that may be more suitable for other kind of files.
Go and try it!
Anyone to provide feedback or suggestions for this application, please?
Came here cause I saw the app in the XDA portal, seems simple enough and ultra handy for the people who really struggle to send files. :good:
I also saw this on the XDA portal. Looks like a great idea; I have to try it out.
A few questions:
1) How do you connect over data (e.g. 3g)?
EDIT: I see the server status page has a WAN IP as well. Do we need to do any port forwarding or anything like that?
2) Can you download the files as well, or just view them?
3) Is there a way to add whole folders?
Hmm I like the concept !
(Not yet tried app - wishing you had a direct download link to fileshare service along with G-Store link)
Here's what I would like to be able to do and hoping your app can handle it.
Share a folder, then view / download those files through the browser.
Guessing http //device.ip/share

Portforwarding is common for any server, u might need to do it if connect to a router
I think u can start the server on mobile network directly
Sorry for my bad English...
Sent from my HTC Desire 200 using XDA Premium 4 Mobile app
Yeah I managed to download the app, with VPN & G'Play..
Nope, I cant add a whole folder.
Every-time I attempt to look at settings *CRASH*
I added a screenshot to share, it shows in PC browser as link, but wont download /open
Looking at path tells me why
http 192.168.1.133:4321/shbx_uri/ictures/Screenshots/Screenshot_2014-10-27-14-17-01.png
'ictures' ? Really
I would rather use port 80 or 8080..
hence why I 'try' open settings, after tapping settings, about 6 seconds later. *CRASH*
The app works perfectly on my Oneplus One, it does exaclty what it says and it saved me from a lot of trouble.
Thanks!
Nice idea and works.
maybe add themes for the Web interface.
let me know if u need any help with that.

The connection is made through ip sockets, so you may connect not only through wifi but also through all ip addresses your mobile may has, at the time you turn on your ShareBox

Yes of course! If you do it from your mobile web browser keep your finger pressed over the target file till the contextual menu shows up. If done through computer browser use your secondary mouse button. Easy!

Adding whole folders may be done through workarounds (using third party file managers or file compression) but is not yet "officially" supported

Could not reproduce your error, sorry!. Certainly the uri is composed based on system path folders names, so don't know why it appears that way

Yes, you may change the port used through settings menu, but restriction to use ports below 1024 is keeped. As stated before, please report your crashes with as much information as possible.
Thanks!

Yes, I did via G android.
I will sit down later and give you more information
But, dinner comes first
Summary
Samsung Tab 3 10" - Tap Settings - a delay, screen stay same - then after 6 seconds, maybe bit longer, app closes with msg box (every time)
Would it be possible to enable nfc "sharing"?
For example, if I have sharebox opened and running on a certain ip and port, and I tap another nfc device, then the other device's default browser would open up, already displaying the sharebox url.
Kinda like I can share a web url or maps location via android beam, but this time the beam wouldnt be between two identical apps, but between sharebox and the default browser of the other device.
Cheers!

Ok, that was a good clue. It seems an error that happens on this kind of devices. Published new version that will hopefully ammend it.
Thank you!

Mmmmm, not a bad idea
At first sight it seems that it should be possible if both devices were running ShareBox app with this feature implemented. Will have to study...
Thanks for your feedback!

Definitely needed something like this. I'm tired of having to upload to google drive just to port some app that says "incompatible with this version" within play store on my painstakingly slow phone.

Thanks to you for reporting and helping to sort out! Some other error reported by other users has also been corrected after that, so sorry if you see some other update.
Thanks again and enjoy Sharing!

Hey no problem, I'll just update again..
I dont mind reporting bugs..
What I really need though, would be an app which can share a folder.
(Not just an interface that lets me share all the files in the folder quickly)
Something which shares 'that folder' live..
So if folder contents update 'live', refreshing the page will reflect the changes, much like a web-server would
If I try to add a cloud pic (I click add file, select stock kitkat gallery, click on a picasa / g+ image) the app force closes.
Can cloud pics be added? I dont think that nowadays people keep more than a few recently took photos on their device, both for memory and sync / backup reasons...
