Hello! I'm curious where to find FXZ firmware files now that sbf developers site is down? I usually run stock rooted just for tethering, but want to try CM12. From past experiences, I never flash anything unless I have the current FXZ files. If anyone has anything on this I'd appreciate it.

Why not just back up what you have then flash CM? Easy enough to google original fxz files though.
Let us know how cm12 works out.. I need to improve my battery life in this ultra. I currently removed root to take updates and in hopes we get lollipop soon but now my battery life has taken a hit

I have had bad luck flashing a backup after CM. I gotta tell ya, I've had a hellava time trying to find the firmware through google search. But, all good now...thanks to the poster above I know where they are now.
jphillips.hd88 - I wonder how you are doing your "flashing a backup"? It's just too easy
to have it give you issues...

Okay my phone is the rogers version which is exactly the same as the skyrocket. I messed up my phone and im on the AT&T rom now which is not working well for me, for one its laggier and the APN is set correct but 4G LTE is not working.. Im begging someone to upload a stock version of the rogers rom!

Man.. once I see this out I'll finally consider rooting my phone. Unless there is another way of getting the sliding glass unlock screen .. LOL.

Are you a stock I727R user? If so, you can speed up this process by dropping by IRC and working with me to get the dumps I need.

I have a SGS II-727 Rogers. Full stock and would like to help, I just need full instructions. Actually its my second one cause the first one was stuck on the screen with the yellow triangle so I managed to exchange it from rogers for a new one.

Where can I find the stock tar? I'm new to this. I soft bricked my phone.. Galaxy S II LTE i727r from Rogers... I added a rooted version and a non-rooted version in-case you want to send your device back.
I don't know why this is wanted but here it is.

It's wanted for several reasons:
1. because if you lose everything, you'll atleast have the stock ROM to flash back
2. Warranty Service -probably want to flash everything back to stock and relock the bootloader.
3. Modding/Fun/Whatever.
The software configuration, and likely a few settings, are different on the EU roms vs the US one. I would've posted one, but I accidentally deleted /sdcard instead of /system last night (don't flash while half-asleep).
Also, just to confirm -- you didn't back that up with an account on it, did you? Just wanna make sure you're privacy isn't compromised

Yeah, see, if I restore that, I've got your account on my machine. That's what I was noting when I said make sure it's not. You can make the backup by first performing a factory reset (via settings). This'll wipe your info off the device.

YES. As I just explained, your Google account is on that ROM you just uploaded. I can access your stuff, delete it, etc. Remove the link!

One X was released before One S and international and has more interest cause the insides.
This phone will be good as well just wait its a new release and yeah.

Once you release that nandroid bro, I'll try and create a update.zip version that people can use as a base. I'll try and implement root and all that cool stuff....we'll see how that goes. Right now I'm in the process of moving from VZW back to T-Mo, partly because my wife wants to, but I want to as well lol....

No problem about to edit the OP to add in the rooted nandroid.
I uploaded both versions of nandroid.
Rooted version and Un-rooted version.
Please comment on the the thread and rate it.
I have followed your instructions of extracting the zip in to my phones memory but when I try to restore it says something about md5
the title says it all.
Right now i am using the third download listed in here to restore back to stock... is this the best choice?

I'm not sure what your reply means...I was asking which file is best for restoring back to stock...i have returned to stock and re rooted a handful of times now but not sure which file is best to use but i think through trial I have answered my own question....thanks anyway

I have used the two obake files yes, the one is the OTA and one is the version it was shipped with...both work but using the one it was shipped with is just a pain because afterwards you obviously get the OTA notification and then have to update anyway

Feel free to use this as a base for a rom or feel free to grab files for your rom or if you need any apks etc ALL I ASK FOR IS PROPER CREDIT :highfive:

i could care less if the relocked my bootloader as long as i have s-off an like scott said i never seen that but someone has to roll the dice lol...if some crazy way the ran the lock cmd i know someone close that has a java card so i would be back to s-off real fast...as i used java card to s-off my last 2 phones:highfive:

i'm sure someone will drop a stock rom real fast..this makes it lil easier for them. eventually i will be dropping firmware an a stock rom. i just dont get much help from others when i ask so i'll get there soon..maybe i can make one for this ota im only stuck on one part once i figure out that i'll be good...i thought i found my answer with kitchen so i was going to set it up but i was told that isn't supported anymore so there went that. back to google some more lol

This stuff is surprisingly hard to find. Anybody have that boot.img? I'm trying to flash the engKernel and I want to make sure I have something to go back to first. Playing with no-knox root methods which are flying around.
Going off of what I read from another comment somewhere on another thread,
you can download your firmware version and extract the boot.img from it and flash it back.
Hoping for someone to shine some light on this.

That's the AT&T stock firmware. Has a kernel for a totally different CPU actually, and probably other issues too, like the radio. But thank you very much for trying to help. Maybe that will be useful to someone else.
