What recovery you use? I use TWRP and everything is just fine. Make sure it supports up Lollipop. (CM12)

[Q] can someone make a flashable zip for latest OTA

i would like to install the latest OTA update for 4.4.2 but it keeps failing.
i flashed stock recovery and i have stock kernel.
when i apply the update it just states that the update was unsuccessful.
any idea on how to solve this? i have tesco moto g on which i flashed stock UK firmware. it is only rooted. i do not think that i have deleted system apps and i tryed disabling xposed modules.
could someone make a flashable zip if it is possile?
i would really appreciate it :victory:
I use the latest TWRP as my recovery and it updates the OTA files fine, so I would suggest trying that.

Are you getting the error about mounting /system? I tried the 2.8.1.0 version of TWRP and was able to mount the /system partition successfully. I haven't had the time to flash a rom but you can try if this version works for you.

After upgrading to lollipop, my TWRP password is incorrect

Hello everyone,
I think I have a big issue on my hands. My OnePlus One has always been encrypted. When I upgraded to lollipop for Cyanogenmod, I had to wipe my device because the encryption from lollipop was different than kitkat. That seemed to go well and lollipop is working fantastically. I encrypted my device again after installing lollipop. Now, when I try to flash a zip with TWRP, it says my password is incorrect and I can't mount the system. I am able to decrypt my device when booting into Android, so I know my password is correct, but TWRP doesn't think it is. When I upgraded and encrypted my device, I was using TWRP version 2.8.0.1. I have since upgraded to the latest version 2.8.5.1 successfully with no change in behavior. What can I do to get TWRP working again? It is pretty much useless when I can't mount the system and install anything.
Please let me know if this thread belongs elsewhere.
Thanks,
Chris

Have you tried flashing back to 2.8.0.1 to see if it still works?
Newer versions of TWRP have encryption problems.

I just tried 2.8.0.1 with no success. This appears to be a known issue (issue 333 on the TWRP GitHub repo), and people are suggesting to just upgrade nightly versions without backing up first. :S

Can miui official roms be flashed with twrp?

Can miui official roms be flashed with twrp? Or do they only flash on MI stock recovery?
If you have it as a zip for recovery than you can also flash it with twrp

Are you sure? Because I saw that someone said they are supposed to be used with MI stock recovery on miui forum. But it was just one guy...and I never saw anywhere that those roms provided by miui website could be flashed with twrp, that's why I asked. Have you tried that?
Yes, sure. I switch between miui 6 stable rom, miui 7 global beta rom and euphoria or cm roms almost every day

hello everyone,
how can I go back to MIUI ROM ? I want one message which I took backup using MIUI PC Suite. I was on CM12.1, copied 6.6.6.0 & 6.7.2.0 in my phone (for safety). I did clean for system, cache, dalvik-cache, data. Now when I'm trying to install 6.6.6 or 6.7.2 it's giving me error.
mount: failed to mount /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/userdata at /data: Device or resource busy
mount: failed to mount /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system at /system: Device or resource busy
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/Mi 4i ROMs/ Mi4i_Global_V6.6.6.0.LXIMICF.zip'
how can I achieve this ? am I doing something wrong ???
Please help me.
First wipe cache, data, dalvik, system and then reboot to recovery again then flash the miui rom wait for 10 min.

Whenever u switch from miui to any new custom rom , flash a patch 6.6.10.0 file .. u can avoid this error .. And then follow the usual process after flashing that patch file....

OTA CM13 update fails because of recovery

Hi,
I've got TWRP 3.0.2-0 recovery installed with CM12.1.1 YOG7DAS2K1 and am receiving the OTA update for CM13.0 ZNH0EAS2JK Incremental but the installation fails with an error message in recovery saying it's expecting "YOGDAS2K1" level but finds "YOG4PAS1N0". This happens whether I re-enable the CM Recovery update or not.
I found a thread here on XDA linking to all CM official updates. I flashed the recovery from "cm-12.1-YOG7DAS2K1-bacon-signed-fastboot" successfully and then tried the update again but it still failed. Again, happens whether I have CM Recovery update enabled or not.

So now I flashed TWRP again. Does someone know what I should do to install the update ? Preferably without returning to stock first.
Solved
Feeling a bit stupid really...
Right under my post in the list was this post which deals with my problem exactly. I just updated my phone using that guide.
