HDR Video Recording - HTC One E8

Hey folks !! Did any one tried recording an HDR Video?? I can't find an option to do so. According to HTC support, there should be an option when we switch to video mode. Link: http://www.htc.com/sea/support/htc-one-e8/howto/531849.html
But there is no such option in mine!!

Even I don't find the option. Chill maybe there will be an update soon which may solve this or if not you should trying finding out tweak or better have a talk to them.

As you know, our Galaxy R has "autofocus" in photo mode, but I cant activate it in Videocamera mode.
Someone knows how can I record videos while the camera is focusing?
Thanks!

Try lgCamera app from play store/market as the stock one doesn't have the ability to auto - focus in the video recording mode.
Hope this helps.
Hi!
I've tried it... But nothing has changed, the camera didnt focus while recording
Another solution?
Thanks!

Tried it myself, though there is an option for activating auto focus in it but it doesn't work. I don't know any other app which allows to auto focus, but if I get one I'll post it here.
Okay, i'll try this!

[Q] LgCamera App bad quality video on Samsung S4

Hey everyone, I have a stock Samsung S4 that I like recording concert videos on.
I had a real big issue with the audio. I might have that fixed with BootlegMic. I have also installed LgCamera in hopes of finding a fixed focus for my video. I found that this app did let me use an external mic that my stock app did not, but I cannot seem to get a decent quality video from it at all
I have tried changing video resolution, video encoder, video bitrates, and file formats. Every conceivable combination that's possible, (I realize any video res past 1920 X 1080 is not supported), but cannot get any video quality even close to the stock video app.
Is there anyone with experience with this problem that can help me get it sorted out?
Thx. Jerry.
This may be late
This may be a late reply, but just in case any one else happens upon this thread, it might be worth looking at Open Camera app. Lots of tweakable settings, fixed focus, exposure lock, external mic, etc.
BTW, I just put together a bootlegMIC and it is fantastic.

[GUIDE] 4K Recording on CM13 and Custom Roms!!!

As we know, for all Cyanogenmod Users was the Camera app a little bit flawed, it did not let you record in 4K. I found an easy workaround
for that, which should work with any ROM, not only CM.
Just go to the Google Play Store and Download Open Camera, with the link here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera&hl=en .
The open it and click the Settings Icon, go to Video Settings and set the Resolution to Highest; 4K Ultra HD. And that is basically it!
The app overall is a great replacement, it has way more controls over Focus etc. There is a bug though, when switching to video mode, the brightness will go on the lowest level. Clicking the settings and going back will fix that. I hope I could help you, Feedback is welcome!

WhatsApp can’t handle some U12+ videos

Hi,
I’m experiencing difficulties sending Videos using WhatsApp on the U12+, and I’d like to ask if anyone else has had the same issue? The problems have been...
1) WhatsApp throws up an error message, telling me that the video cannot be sent and that I should try another file.
2) Audio within some sent videos is corrupted (loud screeching/crackling noises).
If my mind serves be correctly, the problem seems to happen mostly with videos where I have zoomed in at some point. However, I because 95% of affected videos never sent in the first place - I can’t check back through my history to be sure that I’m right about that.
I found a German forum where somebody asked the same question, but no clear answer was found (although there was a suspicion that it had something to do with the audio recording mode). Additionally, the Play Store only has only one app review from a U12 user and he/she also refers to problems sending video.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Craig.
Got the same type of issue with Facebook Messenger, where the app was complaining about this "mp4 video format" not supported.
I recorded it with HTC camera app in 1080p 60fps.
No issue anymore if recorded in 1080p 30fps. Have a try...

I ran across something interesting yesterday when I was researching YouTube compatibility with the U12+'s videos.
What is your audio set to, 3D or High Res? High Res results in the video being saved as an .mkv, which isn't widely supported. 3D results in a fileformat that I'm unsure of, but it's apparently common enough to upload.

Crap, sorry. I thought it was worth a shot.
Ni,
I had the same problem but unfortunately those times that happened to me I was not able to give an explanation ... I also assumed that it was a problem of use zoom but in the last wrong posting I had a video without apperenti problems of 42 seconds converted in 11MB he didn't want to go. So today I tried all the combinations of options that I found in the camera and the only one that gave me an error in sending was when I selected sonic zoom audio.
The real problem is that I think that in some way changing from the front camera to the normal one somehow changes the option, or during some updates.
So my advice is to check before registering if this mode is active.
For example in the last test I've recorded with the normal camera with high resolution audio then set to 3d audio. Now in the front camera I find high resolution audio but in the front I never touched options and I'm sure that before the beginning of my tests it was on 3D audio.

hello there, you have to be on the FHD resolution unfortunately... anything higher than that you lose a lot of other features. see screenshot
