Nope you still have the warranty unless you have not unlocked the bootloader.

I really don't know whether i have unlocked my bootloader or not.. I just know this much.. That i had used this web page link.. To update phn.. And i did it by going recovry mode and apply to sd card option.... Now just tell me.. What will i do when update is pushed to my phone...?

I installed lollipop ROM from XDA. It said its a soak test ROM. Will I get the official update OTA as others?

I never done it on the G yet, but I guess following the "how to return to stock firmware" or somethingly named guide in the Q&A section will do, without losing your data

Go on to superuser and there should be a option to unroot it

[Q] Downgrade to 4.3 without root / bootloader unlock.

Hi,
I am facing lots of difficulties with my Moto G 4.4 kitkat.
The sim gets disabled on its own and I am left with no network.
This my second Moto g and facing the same problem. I was thinking maybe if I downgrade to 4.3 , the issue will be solved .
Is it possible to downgrade to 4.3 without root and bootloader unlock as I don't want to lose my warrenty.

Download which ever applies to your model: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=14 then run the batch file.:good: Also remember to be in fastboot mode (reboot while holding volume down and power)

You can, I downgraded my phone without unlocking it, you just have to delete a few lines from the .bat file.

Moto g Downgrade problem

i have motorola moto g indian dual sim version XT1033
i already updated 4.4.4 through OTA
then i rooted and unlock bootloader and install custom roms like crdroid n5 experience
but i am not satisifed with custom rom (bugs sometime stuck poor camera quality etc..)
so i decided go back to stock rom
i already have 4.4.2 firmware zip file
i nstalled firrmware through mfastbot v2
but get error something like this
Ready to flash signed images!
OK: (time)
I do fastboot flash partition gpt.bin and I get:
Preflash validation failed!
SST lock failure!
pls anyone help me
or anyone upload 4.4.4 retail dualsim firmware or download link
Downgrade is always very dangerous. You can brick the phone easily.
You could try this:
XT1033_RETAIL-BR-DS_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.40_38_cid12_CFC_1FF_SVC.xml.zip
It's Brazilian Retail Global GSM Dual-SIM 4.4.4 firmware, so should work for you through fastboot.
Thanks dlink

The first command will fail if you are downgrading...it is supposed to fail...don't worry...just ignore it and skip it and continue with the other commands...

The procedure for 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 is the same for all models...All you have to do is flash the updated recovery and the SuperSU zip

Hmmm. So what can you do
i. If the update comes, you select the later option, or
ii. Root your phone or unlock your bootloader. This will void your Guarantee and support from Google.
Till the bootloader is unlocked and root access is given
Hit thanks if helped

First of all thanks for your reply.
I added SuperSu to the rom using Android Kitchen still it recives the OTA and the Bootloader is unlocked too. The worst thing is that it doesnt give any option like Later while updating to ICS from GB OTA
