Hi Everyone,
I have a problem with my Nexus 5, few people told me that they receive from me double SMS, but my Hangouts shows me that i send only one. I tried factory reset but it didn't help. I use now Android 5.0.1. and I use only one app for SMS, which is Hangouts. I must also pay twice for this double SMS. I heard that a lot of people have the same problem but I didn't find any solution in Internet. Any idea how to fix it?
Yours faithfully

Dear Lethargy! Can you please explain your question? He has only one app for SMS. Are you trying to figure it out is it Hangouts fall or something in system? Am I correct?

Yeah, that's why I asked if the same happens with a different application.
Also, are you using merged conversations in Hangouts?
It could possibly be a carrier issue too. Which carrier are you on?

Yes, I use merged conversations. I'm on Orange PL, so maybe i should go to my carrier service and ask them to check if everything is okay with my SIM card?

See if it happens without merged conversations or with an alternate app first, then ask your carrier I guess. If possible, you could also try putting in a friend's SIM card and seeing if it happens with theirs.

Hello there,
I'm having troubles with recieving messages.
Sometimes, I just don't get a message, while I get all the other messages.
I tried, several things, but none of them work actually.
Does anybody know what I can do or tell me what the exact problem is?
I have had contact with htc and my network provider and none of them could help me.
Sometimes, people send me an sms and I don't get the sms on my phone,
when I look online, I see that people have sended me an sms but I did not recieve it.
I'm getting crazy of this problem.
Now I have got a new simcard.
But htc tells me that its software from google play that is blocking my sms sometimes.
Could somebody please help me with this??
I hope you guys know a lot more than HTC or my provider combined

Hi,
Are you rooted using a custom ROM or is your phone all stock?
Id also suspect a rogue app or an issue with messaging settings but if its working sometimes that doesnt explain it.
is it particular people or is it always random?

hmm
i still think its an app then depending on what you have installed... if you have titanium backup and are rooted u can backup all your apps and remove all of them and see if that fixes it then slowly re-install each one.
other thing u can try is get another sim card ont he same network and put it in your sensation and text it loads see if it gets the same issue. if so its likely the phone.
if you are unlocked u get more options like doing nandroid backup, totally wiping and doing fresh install... using some backup apps and doing a factory reset is an opion open to u.
basically its testing around trying to rule out either the phone or the sim / network.
hope this helsp a bit

Ok thx,
I have allready got a new sim, to swap with my previous.
So let's hope it's fixed.
Else I will have to hard reset and start again ( for the 5th time )
But there is no other way to check what is causing this instead of deleting everything?

i mean try a different sim with a different number but on the same network..
there isnt really any other way of figuring this out without removing things and finding out what the culprit is.
if u were unlocked id be saying nandroid backup, totally wipe and see if the issue is present.
I had the same problem some weeks ago, in my case it was caused by a problem with the gsm network of the provider in my area. To solve it I had to switch network mode from "gsm only" to "wcdma preferred".
By the way I'm in Italy, I don't know if this apply to you too!

I have this strange problem since 1 month ago more or less.
I'm not able to make call only to my gf, it's the only number I can't call. I can text her (sms and wa) but not call!
I tried to reset and change rom and kernel to my NexusS, and I also tried to reset her galaxy ace, and to delete my contact from her list.
nothing.:crying:
any idea?

If you REALLY did that, then it might be a network problem, a radio problem, or someone cursed you both.
But i think it's a network problem. Can you call other contacts normally?
Maybe try changing your radio! If that doesnt help call your provider or call somebody in the same network as her!
But maybe theres a reason you cant call her? (jk)

What happens when u call?
Nothing?
Voicemail? Or
Something else?
If voicemail then it could be her phone that has ur # set as "send call directly to voicemail"
If nothing then its ur phone... But if ur able to make other calls then try dialing her number with the 1 in front of area code then try without. It could have been changed somehow.
Lastly, do either u or ur gf use Google voice or any other service besides ur phone company? ... If so check those settings just to make sure.
Good luck

well thank you all for the replies first of all!
I had a look at her phone yesterday and there's no "send to voicemail" option activated, it was the first thing I tried.
She has no apps for blacklisting contacts and, at first view, no option to do that.
we both can make call to everyone, and she can call me but i can't call her: when I try I hear for a moment the "tuu" sound (hope you understand what I mean) then the typical sound of call terminated.
I'm pretty sure it's a problem related to her phone. It has a GB 2.3.7 custom rom installed by me last year, I never updated it but it always work perfectly!
I will try a different radio just for trying to speed up my internet connection, I don't think it can be related to this problem too.

Maybe your Nexus is trying to tell you something.
Lol, anyway, check both phones, Google voice, and carriers for any sort of blocks. I know that on some phones, it's easy to accidentally put someone on a block list.

Do you happen to be using two factor account authentication?
Tried clearing the app, reloading it, deactivating and re activating the phone\account via google voices web settings.
I am using two factor authentication as per a month ago. but if i recall correctly my google voice was still working with that enabled on my moto x before i got the nexus 5. I could be mistaken though. Anyone?
Mine originally was acting kind of funny upon first install - I uninstalled and re-installed it was fine.

If you're using a prepaid plan, I wonder if this is what you're running into:
http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/voice/bPJ0u3fJiFo
Look about half-way down the page, it seems that some have needed to have T-Mobile disable their own voicemail in order to get GVoice to work. Maybe this is the answer, maybe not, but I saw it and thought it might help. If you got your Nexus through T-Mobile/postpaid, may not be the answer.
I seem to of found the problem. I was testing calls from my work phone, and they were all getting directed into the Spam folder. You cannot view the spam folder on the android app, however once i moved the calls\voicemails from the spam folder via the web interface, they all came flooding into my phone.

I was noticed odd issues with Google Voice also. When I make a test call to my phone from my wife's phone and it actually calls me twice. Maybe someone else can help me confirm.. Call your phone from another phone and just let it keep ringing. See if it calls twice. Almost seems like its calling both primary and Google Voice #'s

Hey guys,
This is my first post, and I would greatly appreciate some help. I'm clearly quite a rookie at this. But I rooted my Verizon gs3 quite some time ago, and everything has run smoothly since. I did use it while in the UK on GiffGaff Mobile, and still worked fine. Now I am using Simple Mobile.
Just today, I installed the CyanogenMod 11 KitKat. I am able to send & receive MMS. And I can receive SMS, but I cannot send SMS.
I have tried changing the SMSC number using the dialer, but it keeps reverting back to "+12063130004",145 . I have also tried using different SMSC codes using the GoSMS app. I've played around with the APNs as well, but from the little that I know about this, this only has to do with MMS not SMS, correct?
Don't know what else to do, and I can't find any threads that have helped me yet.
PLEASE help, and I would greatly appreciate it.

If you toggle airplane mode or reboot the phone can you send an SMS? I haven't played with my phone at all lately but suddenly similar symptoms have manifested. I can send 1 SMS every time I reboot, but then it stops sending SMS after that one. Is this true with you? I haven't found a fix yet, but I'm trying to flush out the problem completely.

So what do you mean by go into the app? if I press menu> manage apps, and then under the tab "All" at the bottom there is a "Voice+". I'm on CM10.2 and it appears that the "Voice+" is part of CM. If I open my app drawer and scroll down there is no app called Voice+.

Hmm, that's odd that its not showing up in the app drawer. It should be. Do you use Google Voice at all? On my phone, the option to disable or uninstall is blocked when I go into Settings>Apps. But if you don't use the app and your phone allows you to, maybe try disabling and/or uninstalling from there?? Let me know, and I'll keep looking.

So, I have the option to force stop it. (no change in results).
I've even downloaded the "Google Voice" app, which added the "Voice+" app, opened it, confirmed that it was on disable and still no change.
I have no idea why this problem started this morning since I don't believe I am any changes to my phone the past couple days... I really don't know what information I can provide to help troubleshoot it...
I'm having the same exact problem starting this morning. I can send exactly one message and then I have to reboot or turn airplane mode on/off to send another. Everything was working perfectly fine yesterday, though. I've tried deleting my phone's cache in the recovery menu but it hasn't helped.

Carrier: Verizon. I was initially on CM 10.2 but both rolled back to CM 10.1 and upgraded to CM 11 to see if any of those fixed the problem. Neither did and I reluctantly (for now at least) went back to stock and unrooted my phone. Texting is working fine but I absolutely hate TouchWiz. I have no idea what could have caused the issue and, like you, I didn't make any changes at all before it happened. It literally appeared out of the blue.

A bunch of us on S4s seem to be having the same problem! The timing of this issue all happening at once is weird... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50552025
OK this really does seem to work for me as a temp workaround...it sticks through reboots and all. Go to the dialer and enter the trusty old *#*#4636#*#* then go to phone settings and change preferred network type to CDMA only then back out and reboot.
It kinda sucks cause it's slow on the go, but at least I can send texts reliably. I have WiFi most places I am anyway.
If anyone figures out a real long term fix please post!!!

Some people don't have voice+ and the solution you used isn't an option for them.
For those of us less fortunate than you, It seems you can fix the problem by loading a TW ROM and flashing the MB1 firmware. Then you can return to CM
I had XVoice+ for Exposed on my SGS4, it stopped me from sending texts. It was ok when i uninstalled it. I hope that might help.
Hey guys,
So I'm experiencing issues receiving calls and SMS on my OPO ever since I flashed a CM12 nightly in early February. I don't know for sure that CM12 is the issue because I can't find anyone that has a similar problem, but since the problem didn't start until after the initial clean install of CM12, I'd say this is a good place to start.
I'm currently running CM 12-20150223-NIGHTLY-bacon and have not changed anything else (kernal, xposed, etc...). I use AT&T and am located in the US.
SMS Problem: First off, I use Hangouts as my SMS application. Sometimes I will go hours without receiving any text messages, only to have a dozen of them all come flooding in at once. Usually this is prompted by me sending myself an SMS. I also occasionally have trouble downloading group MMS.
Call Problem: About 80% of the time, calls do not come through to me. My wife tells me the phone rings twice and then goes to voicemail. I do not receive any notifications of missed calls but if the caller leaves a voice mail, then I do get notified of that most of the time.
Does anyone know if this is strictly a CM12 nightly issue, or is something else going on? If the answer is just a full wipe and clean install of another ROM I'm ok with that, just wanted to get opinions from the community before I proceed.
Thanks in advance!
I am having the same issue with SMS. I am running the 20150225 nightly.
Bump.
Still having this problem. Is the only way to fix it to go back to KitKat?
You have described my exact problem to a T. Any updates on this issue? I am thinking about going back to CM11. Every nightly I update in hopes that it resolves this issue but it hasn't yet.

No fix that I've found yet. Here is another thread on the issue that has seen more interaction than mine. http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/cm12-delayed-messages-missed-calls-t3049583
Have you come across any fix yet?
Yesterday there were several updates related to mms..if you still use cm12...then install cynadelta app select last bacon zip. Then click on refresh, it will check the latest bacon file and update only incremental data..means you dont have to download entire rom. Saves your time and data package.
Once you see all the components are working.. Take backup using twrp and keep it in USB.. Incase you need to restore.

Hey guys,
So I'm experiencing issues receiving calls and SMS on my OPO ever since I flashed a CM12 nightly in early February.

Hi! I har the same problem after updating to cm12. I solved it by go to settings/ mobile network/ preffered network and chose 3g. That worked for me. Much longer batterylife too.
Setting connection to 3g is not a solution, but a workaround. For those of use who actually use LTE/4G, that's not really an option.
I have this same issue, but I'm using Carbon ROM. So it would appear it is a CM-based issue that has carried over.
Edit: I was just in contact with my carrier Tele2, and this is a known issue with 4G/LTE systems. If you have this issue, contact your carrier, and they can likely help you sort it out.

Bump.
Still having this problem. Is the only way to fix it to go back to KitKat?

You have described my exact problem to a T. Any updates on this issue? I am thinking about going back to CM11. Every nightly I update in hopes that it resolves this issue but it hasn't yet.
