[Q] Remove OTA update notifications - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had a hell of a time downgrading back to Kitkat from Lollipop. Now I keep getting the Tegra OTA update notification. Is there anyway to disable this? Freeze or uninstall?

Freeze doesn't seem like a bad idea... well, if you mean Disable the process you're seeing. I'm still a little wary of Freeze after it bricked a friend's tablet.

Discussed and solved already, mate

I think you can't. Unless you dig an app able to do that.

[Q] Xperia E1 Crashing Randomly

Hey guys!
Long time lurker here decided to post something because I wasn't getting much help elsewhere. Also since E1 doesn't have a sub-forum I guessed this would be the place to create the thread.
So the problem with my E1 is that is reboots absolutely randomly for no reason at all - even when I'm not using my phone or doing anything that's resource/hardware intensive.
Have any other E1 user been having this problem? Any ideas what could be causing the problem?
I tried contacting Sony Support but all they could tell me was general stuff like don't stress your phone and install fewer apps on it but that doesn't actually help. So... any ideas?

There is not much you can do actually.
Probably a kernel fault.
Switch to another firmware maybe?
But ummm....

I'm sure that requires the phone to be rooted. And the E1 doesn't have a working root till now at the moment AFAIK. Also am on the latest firmware build from Sony - 20.0.A.1.21 - so I can't go higher than that...

Removing apps won't help.
but you will need a kernel to flash[which requires unlocked bootloader]
As far as I know, random reboots are caused by kernel only.
Btw,you can disable all the unwanted apps. Might help a bit.
Till you get root, only thing you can do is keep messaging sony regarding this.
Also, don't forget to ask them whether you'll be getting updates.
Oh well...

*sigh* I suppose that's all I can do then. I've tried disabling apps and uninstalling unnecessary ones when Sony Support suggested it. Didn't help. Random reboots still occur. I wonder if I'm the only E1 user with this problem or are there others too?

Pm any admin/or a moderator.
Chances are high that it'll be included in this section only.
And it should be actually,it's xE's successor, plus is not too high end to get a new forum.
I'll pm a moderator as well.

I don't really think that will help.
Because repair should be done when there's damage.
And Xperia E1 has no root,so technically no fiddling with system and hence no damage?
Been there done that

No... I've tried that... and also factory resetting and hard resetting... Uninstalling everything etc etc. Device still randomly reboots. On some days it will run fine 2 days straight and then on some days it'll restart 3 times at the very least.

Definite kernel problem. Roll back to previous update if it helps? ( if you have it, BTW I read somewhere, e1 will be getting 4.4.2 update )

Yes it will. But knowing Sony and the fact that the E1 is quite the budget phone, I doubt updating it to 4.4.2 is at the top of Sony's priority list.
I'm not expecting one until late June or July at the earliest.

Error message on Lollipop

Hi guys. I just updated my Nexus 5 to Lollipop 2 days ago, and this message keeps showing every once in a while, without any reason, it just appears for few seconds and disappears again, and then it shows up later again. It's not affecting my phone in any way, but it's bothering me. Can anyone explain what it means? I would appreciate it.
Regards.

It's basically developer speak for "Lollipop sucks and was rushed to market. Please revert to 4.4.4."
It is from some app u have installed.
Check for recently installed/ updated apps to find the root cause
Or try booting in safe mode and see..
Does battery doctor work?

Has the VR and AR shaking been fixed w/ B392 update?

Like the title says, has the VR &AR (in PokemonGo) shaking been fixed with the new b392 update?
I have B389 and problem is still present!
The only solution I have is to roll back to MM and Emui 4.1!
Any info from Honor? Do they even know about this? Or even care to fix this? :/
Thanx for your answers!
I'm on b385 (l04), I do face the same issue.
And I guess honor knows about this issue and working on fixing it.
Yes it is working fine in frdl09 c432b392, no bugs in gyroscope now
Problem is still present for me:
It is better to report this issue to honor
TBH Honor doesn't care. This problem persist since the Nougat beta, it was submitted multiple times, but this still happens. For every issue Honor support just tells to do the factory reset which is pointless.
That's bad
Ohh no .. I was hoping for better results.. I hax Honor on every single post about it on facebook and on all web page's ..and I will continue to do so until they fix it..
I dont want to roll back to EMUI 4.1 and Android 6 :/

Have anyone tried greater firmware then 398?
Through Firmware Finder for Huawei on google play there are found ,399 ,400, 401, 402 these greater firmware versions.
This has never been a problem for me. I have no idea why people keep saying that this problem exist when I haven't noticed anything. I guess you just have a bad luck.

If we indeed no custom ROM for q6, may I know how is lg stock ROM update history? Do they drop the ball after a year?
They have given two update about 500 mb but both are for system improvement and security patches still waiting for the next major update to oreo

Did anybody notice that screen seems to be over sharpened? I saw in one of the YouTube videos that the reviewer also has over sharpened screen. Did anybody notice that on their q6 ?
Not sure of custom roms but yeah, at least Oreo is confirmed for us! Can't wait to experience it.
Then? LG is notoriously bad at update software. Unless we have custom ROM the phone will become abandoned in 2 years for sure.., unless oreo update has treble then maybe some little hope

Major problems with this update, Ulefone Power 3
Hello,
I downloaded and installed this OTA Update on my ulefone power 3, GQ3056MF1_HCS986a_Ulefone_V40. The phone was working perfectly well before the update, but after restarting after installing the update, the display double prints everything. The display is completely undreadable, with lines accross it and printing in double. Is there anything I can do to remove this update or roll it back? Thanks a lot
First read the txt that comes with it.:good:
It says if you have problems after this update > PLEASE make a works-reset.
And then restart your phone.
Here its working fine.
i have v36
