[Android 5]BlissPop Notification Light - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hallo,
Can anyone tell me how to activate the Notification Light in Silent and Priority Mode?
Notification Light works fine on "All" Notifications but there it has sound or vibrations and i like it silent with light.
Thanks in advance!

It's not a Blisspop problem! Its a overall Android 5 problem, one solution I found after 1 hour of searching is to use light flow manager and Priority mode! Than the phone is silent + notification led.
Enjoy

I asked because you put Blisspop in the title of this thread.

[Q] Looking for Color LED notification app

Guys, I have tried light flow and light manager and I can't get these apps to work properly. Do you guys know any other app that works properly on Nexus 5 to control color of notification LED?
Thanks

LEDBlinker is another one
Yup, LEDBlinker Pro gives me no issues whatsoever, whereas Light Flow and Light Manager gave me nothing but issues.
Perhaps I'm just lucky then, LightFlow has been working fine for me on OmniRom.
Did you set up the app as per the developer website instructions?
Yes, I have tried many settings but it never worked right. I'm gonna try ledblinker now... fingers crossed.

Latest Light Flow disabled all Vibration?

Hello,
I just received an Update for Light Flow with new UI and after a reboot I have no vibration at all for any app. But for the Notifications I can see that I can now customize vibration. Do I have to setup everything by myself now?

Nothing has changed regarding how the vibrations are controlled within the new version. There's a setting in settings->labs to do with notification vibration, maybe change the state of that?
OK, i will try a reinstall.

I think I've found the issue. It works for repeating vibrations and from the main notification list, but not within the "tabs" section for initial vibrates. If you set it in there and go back out, you'll see it returns to "not set". I've found the issue and got a fix ready for that to put out in the next couple of days
Thats nice. Thank you.

[Q] Real silent mode in Lollipop? [Also Whatsapp/Viber Priority Interruptions Issue]

So, before Lollipop we used to slide the volume down to zero to get in to vibration mode, and press another time to go complete silent.
I used to have my phone in silent mode at work, sitting on the table, because vibration on a table is pretty noisy. I just silenced it and the notification light showed me any incoming notifications.
Lollipop introduced this new "Priority Interruptions" mode, and if you don't have any interruptions set up it is basically like the old silenced mode. The issue is that in priority mode the LED notification light doesn't light up anymore!
So, any help replicating a completely silent and non-vibrating phone showing notifications through led?
Thanks in advance :good:
UPDATE:
If you use a third party app to light up the light while in priority mode, you have to enable his notification access:
Settings > Sound and Notification > Notifications Access > Check Lightflow/Light Manager Access
Also you need the notification app itself to be activated as a priority interruption:
Settings > Sound and Notification > App notifications > Lightflow/Light Manager > Enable Priority
Thanks to sorcio91 on figuring this out. :good:
Meanwhile we found out some apps don't obey to priority rules. Whatsapp is one of them, and also user naelya reports Viber is creating issues. If you find any issue with some other app let us know in this topic. According to sorcio91, dowloading the version at http://www.whatsapp.com/android/ solves the issue.
I have my phone on silent 24/7 and rely on notification light too.. Frustrating they removed a basic feature like putting ringtone/vibrations on silent only..
Glad I'm not the only one having this issue. I use timeriffic to setup profiles, but it's pretty much useless now. At work I usually have my phone on silent and use my watch and notification light for notifications, but that doesn't work now. Looks like the final build is more of a nod towards the N6.
Will tasker get round this?
I have a problem with that too....
And: with priority interruptions active, whatsapp continues to make sounds when notifications arrives...is for you the same?

Had the same issue on the developer preview, but i thought it was a preview bug at that point. Didn't receive many notifications in the last few hours, but i'll see if i experience that also.
Back on the notification light:
Is there anyway we can report back to google? But this is more of a feature request than a bug i think.

Dear friend, i've just found a workaround...the version of whatsapp downloadble at http://www.whatsapp.com/android/ works well with lollipop notifications manager, but if you update or install it from the play store it will (in some strange way) bypass the notification manager and it will "ring" even in priority mode.
Let me know if it works for you...
my whatsapp seems to be working ok, just the notification light thing is bugging me.

Can you please check your whatsapp version number?
Have you tried if lightflow or some app like that does the job for the notifications?
I just tried with a friend and Whatsapp rings full volume in priority mode, even if it's not set up to. That's strange, becasue I thought that ringtone volumes were blocked at system-level.

Yeah, it should be...!!!! Damn, I don't want that some app wakes me at night because it could bypass the notifications manager

I use Light Manager but I don't think it's the app fault. The led does not light up even with in-app basic light settings. I wrote to the developer to know if he eventually can override that behavior (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56706374&postcount=2015).
I also have Lightflow PRO from the Play Store, but didn't have time to try that extensively. I doubt it will work though.

That's bad. But it's also possible that Whatsapp uses some deprecated code in the app development that results in this. It's not the first time that this multi-billion company shows examples of really bad app design...

I have just opened a support ticket with Viber for a similar issue.
I have app Light Flow. It work. But seems there is one trick for this. Install Light flow app. Then go in Options/Accessibilitiy and and turn on Lighht Flow Lite!
Please answer if this working for you.
I have find REAL silent mode! Top ****! =]
Just click volume button, and there is priority mode. Just click first option! Or set priority mode. In priority mode you can turn on notification for like SMS, and turn of for incoming calls!

I know that you can use NONE, but that way also alarms are silenced. And in the morning I need to wake up to something :good:
By the way without any third party software you can't have notifications light up when in priority. Don't know if consider this an issue or an intended feature. By the way, with light manager, notification access is also enabled but doesn't seem to work anyway.
I still can't get it to work. I have the full version of the app. I have it activated, no persistent icon (other than the L Preview one it puts on automatically) and then I have set priority mode on with no active notifications...but nothing lights up.

No LED notification in Pie

Hi all,
Does anyone have this issue? I just updated to Pie (latest version) today and find out that LED notification is no longer working. The battery charging LED is ok, but no light for missed call or message.
It works fine in Oreo.
Works for me.

did an app work? if so, which one?
Lightflow works for me on Pie, especially for app specific colors. However I have to use the "always on" feature. Blinking on off setting have never worked on my PH-1.

might be worth double check the other LED related setting "don't blink light" under "custom restrictions" though you probably have already
Just want to update....in my phone, LED notification only works:
- gmail
- Voice mail waiting (but not work if there's missing call)
Does not work in SMS, MMS (doesn't matter in stock messenger or Textra or ChompSMS)
Look like Android Pie issue (I'm using latest Pie)
Any suggestion or solution is appreciated.

Update: After April update, LED notification is working in Textra but not in stock messenger or ChompSMS.
Missing phone call is still not working. I hope after May update, everything will work....cross my fingers.

Replacement for LED notification ?

Is there some sort of feature that replaces the notification light which the ultra 20 lacks. They have this weird flash and edge light feature that only seems to work when the message comes in but if you miss the notification it is useless because it doesn't periodically blink. They have a reminder feature that you can only set to go off every 3 minutes (or longer duration); but it seems to be audio only.
If they were going to remove the notification led i would think they had a replacement feature ?

I don't use it and don't really care that it was removed but this thread on this forum might be what you want.

How do you tell if you miss a message if you leave the phone in the other room? Tap the screen ?

AOD is intended to replace LED notification. I'm on my second Frontier watch, which is how I monitor notifications. I don't try to type with it, but I use it to decide if a notification is worth digging out the phone or not. I also use it for Samsung Pay daily.
Fone settings......... accessibility.......... advanced features.......notificationsns......... turn on screen/camera flash flash.
While you are in the accessiblity notifications, turn on notification reminder, set how often you want it.
This is far better than the little led, will definitely get your attention.
AODnotify is what most of us use to replace the LED. Search for it here on XDA.

Can we set the flashlight only for phone calls, instead of for all notifications? I get many notifications, i don't want to waste my battery for each n every notification.
I dont know of any set up for which app gets the flash specifically. But I would set up those apps for silent notification that you dont want any sound, vibrate or flash.
I use LED Me Know and it's awesome.
