Recently installed OmniROM 4.4.4 which has bought the Motorola Xoom back to life, however there is no option to REMOVE shortcuts from the homescreen or UNINSTALL apps. Whenever you long press on an apps to uninstall it it just makes a shortcut to the homescreen. I've checked all the settings, has anyone else had this issue and found a solution?

OK so I've found a solution.... I take it your using your Xoom holding it width ways? Turn it to the side & if you drag your app or widgit you want to remove from your home screen to the top of the screen you will see the screen turn Red, let go & it will delete from your home screen, just only works when your Xoom is turned.
& if you wanna uninstall apps go to Settings/device/apps & then uninstall from there.
Hope this helps mate :good:

Hi all!
Before posting i've searched in the forum for my issue with no success.
Anyway have installed adw launcher on my tablet with original rom but after some days when i enter in app drawer and rotate the tablet magically the drawer disappear
I've tried to tap the screen and the apps open correctly so the app drawer seems invisible and covered from the background.
Have tried to reboot the tablet, uninstall, re-install, delete data of adw but not solve the problem.
Anyone say how to solve the problem?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.

In ADW launcher, under settings, there should be a few options such as "transparency in tablet mode" - this would be available under the app drawer settings. Make sure you don't have two entirely different settings for horizontal and verticle as well.

Anyone?
Hi guys. A while back, some version of cm11, had the ability to disable the google search bar. Last night I did a complete wipe of my phone and reinstalled cm11 m9. Now the setting does not appear to be there anywhere. I have looked in the settings area and i cannot find it. I seen a post somewhere that said to disable the google search app and I did. It did take the bar away but there is still a big gap from the top of the screen to where the icons are, as if the bar is still there, just invisible. If anyone has an idea, please let me know! Thanks all.
Are you using the Google launcher or cm11s (trebuchet)?

I honestly dont know. Basically I installed CM and left it at that. So whatever is default for cm i havent changed it. If this is something i need to install let me know about where i can download it at. thanks for your reply. im just confused because used to be automatically a trebuchet settings in the settings page. Now there is not. Thank you
Apparently im using trebuchet because i tried to update, then the app crashed. Rebooted, and uninstalled trebuchet. Then was left with a blank screen. Rebooted, stuck in boot loop. So i restored nandroid backup and now im back to square 0. LoL

Hey don't know if you're still struggling with this but I stumbled on the answer. I had the same issue with a Nexus 7 I cleaned out and re-imaged with CM11. The setting used to be in some sub-menu of the settings panel. Now I could not find it. Looked and looked. Found in the home settings choices. Not sure that's the right name. But anyways...when you are on your home screen, if you long press in a blank area or you press the menu button below the screen if you have one, you get that grayish bar at the bottom with choices for Wallpaper, widgets and themes.
Just at the top of the gray area are three dots in a triangle. You tap those dots and the screen expands to show a bucn of toggles. Near the top is "Search Bar". Tap to togge off and it's gone! Could not embed images in post because new user but here's the screenshots.

Hello all,
I'm a relatively new OnePlus One owner and yesterday after I rebooted my phone, a new page showed up as part of my home screen pages. What was the first home screen page is now the second one and this new page took it's place.
Since I have no idea what it is, I'm attaching a screen shot for reference in hopes someone might be able to tell me. It's mostly blank with the text that says:
Get some extensions!
Looks like you don't have any installed
extensions. CM Home currently supports
DashClock extensions, so go get some and check
back here!"
Would anyone know where this suddenly came from and more importantly, how can I get rid of it? If I had wanted it there, I would have added it myself. Don't much appreciate a phone that doesn't respect user settings.
Thanks!
Tim
Nobody knows?
There must be some way of getting rid of this thing. It seems to have shown up after I updated to 38R. It's also mentioning something about Dash Clock. But since I don't have any app named Dash Clock installed, I have no way of uninstalling it.
Tired of these apps or themes, etc that just think it's fine to modify a user's settings and add whatever they want to a phone. I take the time to setup my phone for a reason. If I had wanted something changed or added, I'm perfectly capable of determining which apps I wish to have and where I wish to place associated folders, icons, widgets, etc.
Would be very appreciate if anyone could give me some advice how to get rid of that page.
Thank you!
It is part of the trebuchet launcher from cyanogen. You must have gone into the settings and turned on the CM Home search panel. Just go back into the launcher settings and change the search panel option to "off" and it should go away.

Thanks so much for the reply. I have looked already, but see nothing obvious listed in my Settings where I can find anything related to CM Home search panel. I have also searched for any apps that might be labeled as trebuchet, launcher, CM, etc. Would you mind telling me where exactly I can find such a setting as you mentioned?
Thank you again.

It is not in the phone settings it is on the home screen. Long press down on any part of the home wallpaper not covered by an icon or widget and you should see a menu bar pop up at the bottom with 3 icons for setting wallpaper, widgets and something else. There should be an up arrow near the top of the menu bar which when pressed will take you to the launcher settings, that is where you can change the options.
As the title says, I am unable to add or remove apps to/from home screen. If I want to access an app that's not on the home screen I have to go to the app drawer. Not sure when this started to happen. Running stock ROM since day one, using ADW launcher. Anyone have any suggestions, aside from a full reset?
OK, so I figured out what was wrong, it seems that I somehow locked the screen, that's why I was not able to add/remove apps.
Hi guys,
I found that there's no notification count on SMS, Whatsapp, etc on the icon. In the past with other phone, I always have it. I'm wondering if this is a configuration issue?
And the other thing is can I swap back and menu item? As well as change menu item to long press and show recent items to short press?
Thanks.

I can only say you can change the buttons in settings. (swap back and recent apps) You can also add Menu button. Try to play it, you might be able to set it the way you want. With notification count on icon am not sure as I use different launcher.
All this apply to CM rom, if you have stock rom everything you mentioned worked for me fine.

Thanks for the reply.
I couldn't find the button swap setting in settings page, did I miss something here?
I am still using original RON and neither original launcher nor Nova launcher showing notification count on the apps icon.
Thanks.

Try factory reset and test again. Maybe I was running custom launcher and now can not remember right IF I could see the notifications on icon on default or custom launcher. I am now on CM so can not test it.
Somebody else have to tell ya

Thanks mate, no worries. I will see how and update here if I managed to resolve it.
Does CM audio working in the latest build?
For the notification count in the icons you need a launcher that supports it. For example Nova launcher, but then you will also need another app as Missed It! or TeslaUnread.
With the stock ROM you cannot swap the back and menu button, but well, this device is so big, if you're a righty the back button is more useful in the right.
However I would love the ability to reconfigure the menu button and swap it with the recents menu item...

Thank you. Yeah I purchased Nova prime in the end and use TeslaUnread. As for the soft button configuration, I will wait for custom ROM. Cheers. ?
