huawei MT7 CL00 (Chinese verison?) - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a huawei MT7 CL00 , its the chinese verison and everything is mostly chinese even when i set it to english. My question is do any roms or stock roms exist that i can flash and use all the features but pure english? What are my options ? Example on sony phones i can flash a rom from singapore or etc for an international type version, can i do that and if so how? thanks for the help ( i cant read the menus, in chinese)

CL00 has so many preinstalled apk in it, that may confuse you.
But CL version is China Telecom customized and is actually no suitable for international roaming.
Such as it has only LTE band1 /3/41 , it's CDMA only support BC0.
So I think there will be no international ROM usable.
The only way should be :root it and remove some preinstalled apk, and install google play store apk from third party website.
PS.
If you unlock fastboot and at command, an AT command to set customization area code maybe usable.
But that can cause the status bar network indicator issue.

language support packs for custom ROMS

Greetings
I was wondering wither it exists or not in, wither the code group of the language can be separated from the ROM itself.
I used to have a Motorola with linux based OS (RAZR2 V8), and i used to modify custom firmwares to my likings, after modifying a new firmware (ROM) anyone could easily flash the language pack code group into that firmware and the firmware becomes supported to that language pack with everything else working without modifications.
Is this thing possible with Windows Mobile phones? i.e. i could install any custom ROM and then flash a code group (language pack) to make the ROM compatible with the languages i want? (without re-making the ROM again)
i tried to search the net for something like that but i couldnt find, maybe i used wrong search queries, if it exists (or even possible) please let me know
cheers

Garminfone A50 / A10 How to flash ROM's

Credit to vs2 who discovered this.
This is not flashing a custom ROM, but rather flashing another official Garmin ROM onto your phone from another country.
Try this at your own risk. Consider yourself warned.
This is reportedly working fine on the A50 (Garminfone) & A10.
I found this posted over at Howard Forums by "vs2".
I wiped my T-Mobile Garminfone and put A50 firmware for Canada's Videotron on it. It works fine and does not have the "offers" etc. that bloated up the T-Mo version. Traffic works just fine too. I now have French rather than Spanish on it.
You may need an unlock code. I did after I did a Master Clear. But if I did not do the master clear, I was fine...

Instructions: (worked for me)
1. Have two micro SD cards
2. On one put the same update file that is already on your phone.
2. On the other put the new firmware you want to update to.
3. With phone off practise taking phone cover off/on and removing SD card.
4. Turn phone on with SD card that had existing firmware update on. Update notice will show and ask if you want to update - say yes, then it should say update is the same as already on your phone do you still want to update, don't accept or decline. Now quickly pull off cover and exchange SD cards and put cover back on. You may get a message about battery cover - go ok. Then the same 'do you want to update' message should appear - go ok.(you may need to pull down the yellow exclamation from the top to accept the update if the window does not show) Be patient and wait your screen will show 'verifing' then reboot and could be a black screen for 10-15 minutes. (try it with out a Master Clear first, your apps will still be registered and you may not require an unlock code!) as your old settings/apps will still be on phone. It may be ok to leave them on??

Some countries have packaged them inside an .exe file (OPTUS for Australia). I used WinRar to extract them from the .exe and followed the procedure above.

Hello,
I don't know if this thread is still alive or if anyone is listening, but I'll try anyway...
I need to reflash my Garmin A10 ROM back to "out of the box" state. But I have been unable to find the proper .update file I need.
My A10 model was manufactured for European Open market with Android 2.1, European maps and all languages incl French.
Among the files you mention above, none would suit my device...The one I could possibly use would be the DK_Open market (Denmark); hoping it contains all the other European language options. But it seems to be for the A50 device; so I have some hesitation as to flashing it on my A10 model. Are both models so close in hardware features that this would work ?
Otherwise, the original ROM I need is this one :
A10:2.1-update 1/ERE27/A10-V5.071-user-20101027EUOM
If anyone has this .update or knows where I can get it, I would be so happy !
Seems it has been removed from all Garmin Support/download sites, as I was able to find all the ones you mention above, but not this particular update...Possibly it was not available for download because A10 models sold in Europe that were not Open market, could then be "jailbroken" and therefore accept any SIMM and telephony operator...My guess anyway.
But also possibly this ROM was downloadable for some time and perhaps someone would still have a copy of it...
Thank you very much if someone can help,
gtournier

Samsyng Galaxy Trend Duos GT-S7562C - changing CSC

Hi, XDA-Developers,
I am back from China where it bought this little phone (which is DUOS - means supports two SIM Cards):
The phone is China Unicom Branded and updates in KIES just fine:
AP: S7562CZNUANB1
CP:S7562CZNUANB1
CSC:S7562CCHUANB1
It does not seem to be SIM locked, since local SIM cards seem to work fine:
As i am located in bulgaria and have two major problems:
1. Lack of any Google apps and services - no google maps, google play store..
2. Lack of any Bulgarian local settings (only English and Chinese).
It seems the ROM is multi-CSC - displayed when starting in recovery mode.
However all operations related to changing CSC or installing google apps seem to require rooting the phone, which i am not able to find any reliable information. Any information i find is about GT-S7562 which is pretty much different phone it seems.
So i am a bit stuck on what i can do.
There is mentioning that you can flash CSC from another region using ODIN, however i could not really find reliable information about this and source of proper CSC files.
Best Regards, Chavdar
I have this phone and I can help you with number 1. Unfortunately number 2 can't be fixed because this phone was only released in China and as such it only has 2 languages. If you still need help reply and I can guide step by step
Please advise steps of fixing number 1.
Thanks.

System languages (128GB version)

Hello,
has anyone any idea as to why there are so few system languages in the 128GB version of the U11? Mine comes from Dubai but has no German, Nordic or Eastern European languages to chose from. Previously, I had an S7 DUOS also from UAE, but that had a long list of languages I could chose from.
Any hint?
Thank you.
Markus
You might need to flash a European Rom version to take over this issue.
I'd like to bump this. Is there any way of getting more system languages without installing a different ROM? I've got the 128GB steel SIM and worry that another ROM may not have the dual SIM capability. If also rather not void my warranty.
This is an HTC thing where they limit system languages by region. You can use an app like MoreLocale2 to add any language you need. It works without root but requires to give permissions using ADB commands.
There also was another way, but in my phone the disable button is greyed out, so it probably doesn't work on the U11.

How to install emui 8.0

I've read on internet that is possible to install EMUI 8.0 on Huawei P9 through the use of HiCare (but in my phone doesn't work).
This is the step:
Launch the HiCare app. You will be notified to set a location or region.
Set the location to China or Chinese.
The selection is mostly right above Hong Kong option.
Now provide proper permissions.
HiCare app detects your location automatically.
When prompted, do not change the location back to your own country.
Once setup, go to HiCare main page. Let it download necessary content for your device.
Once done, you will be get a new firmware update.
Most likely the latest Android 8.0 Oreo.
Anyone know if it's possible to do?

Never seen or heard that changing location for HiCare makes it possible to change the cust (AFAIK, changing location in HiCare is about getting local support, customizing Gallery App and its content, and about HiCloud).
Changing cust for firmwares requires to have unlocked Bootloader and to flash/change the oeminfo.
Besides, even when you make it and upgrade to Chinese Oreo, mobile connection will not work without flashing the needed network patch.
So forget doubtful YT and who-knows-where Internet 'guides', here on XDA you have a thread (with large and active community) devoted to rebranding to the Chinese Oreo AL10c00b540, with instructions and resources how to fix the modem (network patch), Magisk/rooting, and even to add Face Unlock (that does not come with stock Chinese Oreo)

I'm not talking about HiCloud but I'm talking about HiCare. It's two different software, but I doubt that this method works.

I wrote above that changing location through HiXXXX apps affect what you get through those apps (and IMO, you don't change location separate per each HiXXXX app, but once for all), but that all that has absolutely nothing with changing cust for firmware.
And I know very well what is HiCloud and HiCare....
However, HWOTA7 method as here on XDA (link in the previous answer) does work
PS: If you take time and read OP insrructions in that thread, you will see that rebranding is not that 'easy' as it would be by declaring your Hong Kong residency. Even when you change cust and download and install the Chinese Oreo firmware, you still need some adaptations (network patch) to get it work on the mobile networks outside of China
Writing you all this from such a rebranded P9 with the Chinese Oreo, hence knowing very well about the matter

Why trying impossible
Link to the thread with the guide for rebranding to AL10, installing Oreo b540, patching etc is in post #2

You must have done something wrong.
The method worked for everybody else, many, many people from elsewhere, both on L09 and L19, and starting from different cXXX ( just look into the thread how many participants)
If you still want to do it, better describe what did you do (by points in its OP post #2) and by which point it 'fails' for you.
And it would be more effective to post for such help in the thread, there will be better chance to get an accurate answer
not working in iran

Method does not depend pn your location.
You must only have access to Internet to download all files you will need, as precisely described:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77161313&postcount=2
If you don't receive OTA Patch02, just skip, it's not crucial.
Everything else you download and install by yourself, hence you cannot be blocked by Huawei by your loxation.
However, you will need to download about 2,5 GB or so of files
