Hi,
I broke the charger of my Lg g3.
I going to buy a power bank instead of a new charger, in this case the RAVPower RP-PB07 (about 25€).
I wanna know if charging every day with a power bank, in the long period the power bank could cause bad effects on my phone or on battery? Is it the same thing that to charge a phone with a proper charger? :fingers-crossed:
i guess if you can buy the right power bank same electric flow with your original charger ,then it won't cause
any problem .but some people said power bank will harm the phone anyway .
Why not just buy a new charger? It doesn't have to be LG, Belkin or Hama are just as good. Just make sure it's a 5v 2a one so it charges at regular speed.
Anyway, a powerbank isn't harmful. It's still just a USB charger, regardless of the fact that is carries its own battery.

I though that it's helpful a charger that I can use alway and anywhere it's portables [emoji51]
And I read the feature and it's 5v and has 2 USB (1A and 2A)...the genuine charge LG is 1.8A!

The phone won't draw more than it can handle. (And If you use a 1.0A charger, it will double the time it takes to charge your device.)
Oh I fully apprpve of a powerpack. I don't go anywhere without my 15600mah X-Storm. But to use it as a charger replacement at home is a bit of a hassle, as you will still have to remember to charge the powerpack every day. For on the go it's a lifesaver.

So I broke my Optimus One LG original charger, and I can't find an original LG charger anywhere! I've gone through two local chargers, but they don't last more than two weeks with me.
Would another company's phone's Micro USB charger be alright for my phone? Any specific company or phone which would best suit the Optimus One?
I'm asking because I used to think all Micro USB chargers are the same, but the local ones used to screw my touchscreen up if they were plugged into my phone for 30 mins or so.
A generic USB charger is fine. The way the phone is wired in side determines if it is going to pull 3volts or 5 volts from the usb charger. If you were trying to charge an Ipad then you need to find a high output charger. I've been using my HTC usb charger and Ipad charger on my OP and it has been charging fine.
That's the beauty of Europe mandating phones have the micro usb chargers. No Vasaline required when you need to buy a new charger and cable.
Androids are sensitive to chargers, but any half decent MicroUSB charger should see you through. (The roadside ones don't qualify as half decent ofc )
I carry my Kindle charger usually since it's very compact and many Indian buildings have moved to sockets that take both Indian and American plugs, and it works fine with the phone.

Im just using a moto cable and a blue ant wall plug, now It charges fine, but I used my friends microusb bb charger, and it pumps out more power. Are there cables wired diffrently?
Sent From My P-509 With Xda Premium App
blackberry chargers and moto chargers have the data pins shorted in the charger themselves. This is because they have have high speed/low speed charging detection system (as do most android phones now).
If the data pins are shorted, the charging rate is up to 1000ma, without the data pins shorted, many phones limit the charging rate to 500ma. This is to keep the phone from shorting out USB ports on computers by drawing too much power through them. The wall adapters that require separate USB cables don't always have that, or they limit the power output to about 750ma. The dozen or so smartphones in my office require about 700ma to operate, so the effective charge rate is +50ma, which takes FOREVER to charge.
I took an old 5v 1200ma wall wart from a router and cut the end off and soldered on a USB connecter (with the data pins shorted) now I can plug use those multi-plug extendable USB cables for charging any kind of phone just by putting in the right adapter tip. My P509TN will charge from dead to 100% in just over an hour.

I'm using nokia's one and working fine...
I have the LG original charger, but everynight I use a Samsung charger near my bed, because it has the wire longer, but you can't separate it to do a usb wire. Anyway I only use it for charging in the night. I think every charger that fit your jack is fine. Like everything in this world, if it fits, then it's ok.

True... I'm hardly ever using the original LG charger. Any micro-USB cable will work. I used HTC, Samsung, Kindle, etc. so far. And my battery's still working splendidly
Has anyone managed to get a car charger for this phone?
I've just tried to charge the phone with my car charger modded to "AC" mode by shorting the middle pins... and the S4 gets nada...
Have they changed the charging mechanics?
Is that what's going on? I was wondering what the heck was wrong with my charger!
Yup, the car charger still charges my old HTC, even with the Samsung cable... so there's definitely something different inside the charger...
I have a 2A usb car charger with generic cable to charge my devices. It's nothing special, but it works with my S4. Hope that helps.

Hmmm will have to look into getting a decent 2A charger then and NOT modifying it...
So I opened up my car charger and un-modded it back to original and it works like a charm now
I've got a 1A Belkin car charger and it seems to overload after a while when charging my gs4.
The green light on it blinks and my phone makes that sound when you plug in the charger.
Takes a while for it to happen but gets more frequent the longer you have it plugged in.
The charger works fine with my gf's nexus 4.

I'm using the Motorola charger (big blue circle). Got it for my Razr Maxx a year or so ago (I've gone through like 4 phones since then) and it works wonderfully. It's the best micro-USB car charger I've ever seen. Coiled cord, huge blue light (but not too bright since it's an ambient-style light), and charges quickly.

Seriously, the best car charger I've ever owned. 950mA is also one of the highest car chargers I've used.
I used to have that same motorola charger but I just switched to this one by SPIGEN: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0069EGLFY/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It charges at the same amperage as the stock wall charger that came with the S4. I use the Galaxy Charging Current app to check.

Different USB cables do pass different current even if using the same charging main. From tests I've done so far, a generic 3 ft USB 2.0 cable I randomly purchased online only allowed around 400 mA. An old Blackberry Torch 9810 cable allowed around 1200 mA. Original cable that came with the S4 allows 1900 mA. These numbers are from using the original wall charger main that came with phone.

Gday All,
I realise that this topic has been mentioned in a few threads, but from what I could find, there is no definiteve fix.
Is there a way to disable this so that a non-genuine charger will work once the screen turns off, or if I was to root the device, is there then a way to do it.
Please dont flame me, I'm a total newb to android, and I dont mind admitting that.
Bit dissapointed that Samsung has sunk to this.
TIA!
Not sure what issues you are having but I have been using a few different chargers without issue. Which exact charging method are you trying to use (cable type, charger type, charger rated output voltage and amperage)?
Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
The problem isn't that the charger is 3rd party.
The problem is that the device requires a 5.1V 2A charger or higher.
Anything lower than that is simply not powerful enough. You can find these specs in small lettering on the charger. Most cheap 3rd party launchers are 5V 1A.

I was one of the ones having problems with it needing to have the screen on to charge. It was a problem with the charger (yes, it was marked as a high amperage charger), changed to a different one (Anker 40W 5 port) and it's working fine.

Huge second on the Anker. I love that charger by the way. With various devices I would get irritated with some refusing to charge on certain chargers (my BlackBerry Bold in particular). I've since switched to the Anker 5 port 40 Watt and no longer worry about which cable I'm reaching for. Every device gets the power it needs with no fuss.

That's because the retention rate of the S3's charger is higher than that of a generic cheap 3rd party one. Where the S3 charger actually delivers 0.8-1A, the cheaper ones usually average around 0.5A.
This is why charging over a usb 2.0 port without any power boosts also (usually, there have been some exceptions) doesn't work.
I usually charge mine with my Note 3 or S5 charger, as the three are all the same charger.
I just received my One+ today. I went to charge the device as it was at 38%, but the cable they sent was non-functioning. I'm using another cable but it is charging extremely slowly. Is this normal. Will it only charge with "their" micro-USB cable faster?
I have a repair request in to the One+ people, but don't know how long that will take until it is repaired.
Can anyone recommend a better cable to use or one that doesn't charge so slowly?
Thank you in advance.

Yeah its pretty normal. Their cable and charging brick charge the phone extremely quickly. If you have a longer cable it will charge slower. For 6ft cables you need a 22 guage wire and for 3ft cables, a 24 guage wire should work as well. Just remember the lower the gauge, the thicker the wire.

I bought this external battery pack because I wanted something to power my Nexus 6p, with rapid charging. I can confirm that this battery pack registers as charging rapidly on the lock screen. This charger also can charge 3 devices at once. It has a USB type c port, 2.4a USB port and a quick charge 2.0 USB port. The charger still delivers enough amperage for rapid charging while charging 2 devices at the same time as shown in one of the pictures.
Finally this charger has 4 indicator lights on it to display how much capacity is left in the power bank. The size of this power bank is a little bigger than a nexus 6p and it comes with 2 USB type A to micro USB cables. Overall this power bank is a great value and already came in handy many times!

I really like mine. I pretty much use it wherever I go. I actually bought two one for home and one for work.
hows the weight on this thing? Seems beastly ... is it pocketable? Id like to get one but concern about the size. I'm used to easily putting an extra battery in my pocket so not being able to replace battery will take some getting used to. Wish this came in like 10,000mah at half the size
weight is fine, but it's too thick and wide to be pocketable. I've posted more in depth in the other thread for this, but it's a really good product that delivers fast charging and plenty of juice
