i tried youtube 6.0.13/6.0.12/6.0.11/5.18.5 but same problem
my screen is 480 x 854 pixels does it have a relation with youtube not displaying 480p or 720p ?
i'm new to android can you suggest me other program

Hey guys, I'm on stock rom (non-rooted, bootloader unlocked)
Youtube videos looks pixelated even in the so called 'HD' quality.
But regular offline video playback is great..

Yes I have exactly the same problem. I can confirm this is not a bug with the you tube app, this is a bug of our XL because in my Asus MeMoPad there is no pixelation at all while you tube app version is same.

The problem is in the youtube app itself, uninstall updates and see, no pixels
The problem only appear in some device due to weird reasons

I think I found a strange bug on my nexus 5. I just recently installed the xposed framework and now inside the youtube app I can not use the 1080p option anymore. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution to this?

Occasionally it even works but only for one video and the next video then only has the 720p mode option.
(All the videos that I have tested are HD videos that I know and which do normally have a 1080p option)
I have the lg g3 (at&t) i recently updated my youtube app to the latest 5.14.5 update and the highest quality i can watch videos is stuck at 1080p , even while watching a 4k video !!!! Can anyone please help with this issue ??

Sign out of YouTube. Clear YouTube cache in settings-apps. Sign in to YouTube. Load a 4k video. How is your DL speed on wifi? 4G speed?
hi i want to know is there any way to watch 1080p video on 720p screen ? 1080p is runnin smoothly on my phone so it wont be problem. is there any modded youtube app or maybe i have to change something in system files.

hello saba19993 your problem can not be fixed like this could you briefly write some details like your device's: brand , screen type , model , etc...
after that your problem could be fixed easily.

Hi, I am on stock from with xinfinity kernel R3. My phone's camera app shows video recording as HD 288p doesn't record in HD and file is saved in 3GP format which is of really bad quality. I'm not able the figure out why it is showing only 288p. Has anyone else faced this problem? Please help me solve this issue..

If you're stock other than kernel we can only assume it must be the kernel which is breaking your HD recording. If you want a custom kernel then try flashing squid's kernel which Xinfinity is "based" on anyway.... it seems to just be the same other than some extra governors and apparently broken video recording.
