As the title implies, been looking for quite some time on how to change the volume panel, expanded or not, position on the screen.
The reason behind it is that on >5 inch displays, it's kind of hard to reach the top slider, so moving the panel position, say screen center or bottom would definitely do the trick.
If someone would please point me in the right direction or provide an answer as to if it's even possible, would gladly appreciate it!
Cheers!
Evanovici
Edit: speaking of KitKat, I'm running a OnePlus One

The Purpose of XDA Assist [Please Read]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Perhaps you can't find posts on how to root your phone, install custom recovery or maybe you have questions about how to navigate and use features on the site.
Our XDA Assist team will give you links to threads/forums that are relevant to your problem. You may be pointed towards guides and instructions that can be quite complex, so you will still need to read carefully and be cautious before attempting to make software changes to your device. It is essential you are in the correct forum for your device model; what works for one can ruin another.

*******PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ ABOUT THIS NEW AND IMPORTANT UPDATE COMING TO THE XDA-DEVELOPERS FORUM SELECTION.*********
Hey guys, TweakMan here. I have some wonderful news for you. Coming soon to XDA-Developers, will be new forum section to choose from, dedicated for the sole purpose of helping you!
As most of you have seen. the very first thread in the Development & Hacking Section is the "General Questions & Answer" Thread. It was opened a few months ago, with the intention of helping you get your questions answered. But as you may have noticed, this thread has grown to an enourmous size!
For this reason, an entire new section will be opened and dedicated to this purpose! It will be the same concept as the current "Question & Answer" Thread, but will be far more organized, therefore helping answer your questions faster!
The original concept still stands. No question and no comment, no matter the subject, device, or reason, will be turned away from this new section. Any question, about any device, theme, program, or situation, can be posted here, and WILL NOT BE OVERLOOKED!!!
Now, in the past, it has been hard, and sometimes impossible to post a question in any section other than "Development & Hacking" , and actually get an answer to that question, but with this update, this is all about to change. If you have ever used the currenct Q&A Thread, you know that you will get the help you need, and get it as fast as possible. With this new section, things will work the same and better!
Wether you are a junior member, who has owned a PPC for two days, or a Senior Member, who has owned 10 PPC's and wrote 30 applications, this thread is perfect for you! If you ever have a question, from what the name of a theme is or how to power on your device, all the way up to coding programs or cracking applications, you are welcome here.
So please watch for the opening of this new forum section. By agreeing to use it, you are not only helping your self, but you are helping your fellow XDA members, and that is what this site is for. Thanks for your time, and I hope to see you there soon!!
PS:
If you are currently an active perticipant in the "General Questions & Answers Thread" in the Development & Hacking Section, please read the update in the first post of the thread. And thank you for your past support, and the support I know you will show in the new sections. You guys have made this possible, and this is for you!!!

Hi,
I'm just want to know a bit about everybody here and the whole app development community in general.
Why do you guys come to the forum?
I'm part of a few open source forums, and I feel they are different than the ones here... in the sense that there is no central project to it.
So I was wondering why and how people come here and whether there is any type of cooperation that takes place...
in other words, do you guys think you work together and help each other out?
and if so, in what way?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions &

erm...thanks. Sorry for that.
The thing is that I was going to change the title to discussion rather than question. but wasn't able to.
I really wanted it as a discussion more than anything else.
But thanks for moving it anyhow.
I've personally joined this forum for the huge amount of information on here supplied by very knowledgeable members.
It does make posting here very hard, as:
1-If you search the forum, the answer is definitely somewhere to be found
2-There's always a senior member here to help solve your problems or point to in the right direction

and what sort of information are you looking for.
Is it something specific, like a problem with your device.
Or is it general, like hints and tips, or tutorials?
In regards to the following article: http://www.xda-developers.com/psa-g...ock-affects-many-5-x-roms/#comment-1976777656
I've earlier posted an anonymous suggestion to resolve the above matter by mentioning the use of Battery GSAM -> App -> Manage -> Disable 'Update Service' to prolong the battery life, which I'm now currently still observing if that could be a real help.
Based on current observation, the moment I've had the above done, my battery life stay stagnant at 89% from 10.35am till now 12.05 pm, without any further drastic drop. Hence, I've shared the above comment to XDA as part of the above article comment & hope that it will be a good help and benefit to the community.
However, I noticed that my submitted comment initially went into pending moderation, while later being removed without any reasoning.
I hope the moderator is not cancelling some of the idea / suggestion which could benefit the community ground, and brand it to their own advantage.
Hello XDA Visitor,
While it is fantastic that you want to contribute within XDA, very few members will actually read the posts at the bottom of that article, but thank you for bringing that to our attention.
Also The XDA Assist is a special Forum a place where you can get help in finding your way on XDA.
This is not a support forum, but rather a place to get some help by being pointed to the right thread.
Our dedicated XDA Assist staff members are on standby to help out XDA members or visitors that need assistance!
Our recommendation is that first you actually join XDA and not post as a visitor (anonymous)
Then find the correct forum for the devise you are posting for (your phone model) and post it within the General section of that device.
Thank you again!
I am a web developer but have a few questions about developing an android app. The app is a little complicated so I want to see if it is even possible. What would be the best forum to post the question? It's basically a "is this possible, and if so, nudge me in the right direction" type question.

Hello,
You may visit here App Development Forums, the experts there maybe able to assist you.

I have an app that my drivers use for signature and pickup info. It also comes with fleet tracking GPS. I use Note 2, 3 and 4 phones and this error comes up on 21 of 60 phones. You see the error when logged into the App server where it records everything the driver does with the app. Phones are all set to high accuracy. The error reads: "JavaScript timeout (enabled)(LA 280 RB) repeated 2 times". The number after LA changes all the time and is not consistent. I have gone to the app developer and for months they have been trying to figure it out with nothing. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be great. I came here because I have always gotten great info and learned a lot about swapping ROM's and rooting my personal phones. Thanks in advance and I hope this is in the appropriate area for asking for help.
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
Ok, This is going to be an intricate process for you if you want to get the best help available here. It isn't going to be easy but I will start you off with as much assistance as I can to get you going in the right direction.
First, since you are having this issue on an array of devices, you will be best served if you post your questions in the forums for each different model of device you are troubleshooting, this will increase your chances of finding an answer, but!! PLEASE note that if you are going to be posting your questions in more than one forum here then you will have to keep your questions specific and related to the device you are posting about.
It is not usually permitted to make multiple posts everywhere on XDA for the same issue but if you keep your questions varied so that each question is specific to the forum you are posting in then you won't be creating an issue or bringing unwanted attention on yourself. Our Forum Moderators keep a close eye out for multiple postings of the same issue and moderate the postings when they find them.
To find where to look/post for each different model you are working with, you will need need to use the "search all forums" search box at the top right of the page when viewing this forum in a mobile or PC browser. Type each model number there and when you run the search, it will give you links to different forums and threads for that model number. find the Q&A/help forum for each model. post your issue and look through different threads there, maybe you will find help and answers. Remember, doing this for each model number will increase your odds, you will probably be making a lot of posts on this journey, just keep them focused on where you are posting.
In addition to the posts you will make in each devices' forum, I will link you to some threads where the helpful members are knowledgeable of many devices, issues and operating systems.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help
The experts in those two threads may be able to help, on top of the posts you'll make in each devices' forum. Post in each forum about details of the devices and post questions about the apps and GPS in the two threads I linked. Good luck.
