[Completed] [Q] Rooting majestic pc android tablet MJ20A - XDA Assist

My Nexus 7 crashed while traveling in South America. Found a cheap replacement locally - a tablet sold mainly in Europe and South America. Model MJ20A
Part of the MTD series marketed as Majesitc PC TAB MINI 7
Android 4.2.2 Kernel Version 3.4..0+ .

Build number full_gs702c-userdebug 4.2.2 JDQ39 eng.root.20140417
I cannot find any way to root it so I can use my usual rooted utilities and ubuntu.. Would appreciate any pointers - coverage of this tablet is poor to non-existent - but I need to use it until I return to the US this summer.
Thanks Anthony

Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device. You can try one of the generic root methods at the top of the list here,
XDA Root Directory
If that doesn't help, you will need to ask for help here ,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Also, it's very unlikely you will find Ubuntu for your device... A developer would have to port it and it's doubtful that will happen. Don't flash versions of it that aren't designed for your device, or you could be in a mess. Also, unless you find the factory firmware for your device.... If anything goes wrong tinkering with it, you'll have no way to reflash your device with factory firmware. I'd be very careful about what you do to it.
Just my 2 cents. ?
Good luck!

Thanks Darth. I came across GNURoot and am able to get Debian Wheezy to work enough to let me use Linux utilities I like. I shall keep my eye open for rooting that will allow use of many root enabled programs I purchased on Google Play. Gretings from Vilcabamba Ecuador where one finds a goodly number of Canadians from the northern climes - here for nice weather and a cheaper life. One newcomer from Galgary told me it was the first time in his life he took a cold shower. I have taken the Artic route from Britain a number of times on my way to California. Northern Canada from the air is majestic and immense.. Stay warm.

[Completed] Hello to all, Neebie in desperate help with S5 rooting or the best way to go..

I just shelled out about $900 for a really nice Pioneer AVH-X5700BHS in dash DVD, Sirius and what I looking for specificly was the ability to utilize the Mirorlink or AndriodAuto orAppRadio Live - whatever. I spent countless hours on the phone with the salesmanager from Crutchfield, oh before I forget- This is the second radio I have been sent because they keep telling me my S5 will work and do as shown. I am a starving student so very penny I dont spend on school, I put into my car/hobby/girlfriend - whatever.lol So here is where im at after watching and reading everything I could on what to do, I thought before jumping into just rooting my phone from an unknown source I would ask a community who knows this phone inside and out.
The Phone: Samsung Model SM-G900V
Android Version: 5.o
Kernel Version: 3.4.0
Any additional information will gladly be given
From a Youtube video of a guy with the same S5 was controlling his pioneer deck, being able to utilize EVERYTHING that the product is claimed to do, however he said he had to upload a root (didn't give name of source) and dropped his firmware to the 4.4.2, furthermore he said he needed to revise his Kernel to 3.4.0 - so that in his screenshot of his phone after his build number he stated it needed to read " SE for Android Status - permissive. Furthermore he said in order to utilize Screen Mirroring he had to download chrome cast, I couldn't understand why and that is why I am going to attach a link for anyone that is interested or can help!
I appreciate any and all help and or suggestions at this point - God Bless Jon Proctor San Diego Ca

Hi
Just so you know , there is a possibility that rooting your phone might not help your case.
According to these threads.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/help/mirrorlink-toyota-drivelink-t3015197
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/help/galaxy-s5-mirrorlink-t3007992
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/help/lollipop-mirrorlink-drivelink-t3019969
Stock Mirrorlink on lollipop devices has compatibility issues.
Maybe you can try this application first before rooting.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/mod-drivelink-mirrorlink-mirroring-t1951960
Again I am not very sure that rooting has "helped" a person to connect to a radio when the radio software doesn't support the device.
In case you decide to root this thread might be of use..

[Completed] Huawei Ascend Mate 2 Build change

Hey guys New to the site.
Purchased the HAM2 from Consumer Cellular at Sears as a replacement to a broken phone.
I noticed on my phone its a B147 MT2-L03 (JB 4.3). My goal is to change it to B148 to hopefully snag the updates as i saw on the Hauwei site the 147 isnt on the list.
I have moved my phone from Cons. Cell. to ATT.
I am handy on a PC but this phone stuff is killing me. I have looked here and all over Google.
I have followed steps using Rooting, TWRP ADB etc. 99% of the time it says cant find updates, incorrect name of some sort The upgrade package is not detected, the list goes on. the other 1% it just stares at me...
The number of files I have downloaded amounted to around 10gb of .apps etc.
I have even tried doing backups from other peoples phones.
Used steps by Joshua Bass and Geek Redneck etc on youtube. and alot of the steps on this web site. I am at my wits end.
Thank you for reading this!

[Completed] App not installed error

I've tried every solution I have come across to fix this, still
Nothing. Please help, I'm using an old Kyocera Event that I haven't
Been able to root yet. It's become a hobby phone as 6 months
Ago I knew nothing about smart phones but now I can set up
My new smartphone to a wireless printer without the USB cable
Despite the many that told me it couldn't be done.

[Completed] ZTE BLADE B112 (Boost Zume 5 network locked) Root possible?

Hi guys.
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I've recently broken the screen of my Xperia (sucks) so I went into town and purchased about the only cheap decent phone available which just so happened to be network locked to boost/telstra (Australia).
Seems a soft network unlock option is available through third party websites but I figured why not try my hand at rooting the phone and loading a default android ROM onto it (I hope I have that terminology correct).
So the phone type is in the description and I cant seem to find anything that will help me out in rooting it.
Kingo/iRoot both seem to fail and I cant find a forum or really any information on this phone anywhere online.
I'm hoping someone may be able to help me out - ultimately the end goal is to remove the network lock and maybe if possible remove the bloatware.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Version >Android 6.0<
PS. I did find this post here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319257 ~ No idea if this is what I should be doing. Again, any help is appreciated.

Greetings and welcome to assist. Yes that thread should be fine for rooting your device but rooting it will not normally network unlock your device. As far as I am aware the only way to network unlock it is from the carrier
