So who is disappointed they reduced the screen size to a reported 5.5 inches?
Its now G3 with a curve and better processor.
Very disappointing, i was really looking forward to a 6" screen and ext sd support..would have been perfect.
That said they will probably lock the Bootloader anyway!

I am also disappointed with the larger bezel size. Wish they could keep the 6in display but shrink the bezel a bit to achieve a smaller footprint.
Screen size of the device only disappointment for me. .

I like the six inch screen on my OG Flex but 5.5 isn't to bad either. I love how I can drop my flex and it doesn't break the screen. Dang near indestructible but reading that the flex 2 is even more durable definitely makes up for the reduction in screen size
I'm not that disappointed by the screen size. 5.5 ain't that bad at all they're just trying to gain more customers so to me even though i have big hands screen size is great especially with the specs it has. I'm definitely getting this device just hope that there's root for atleast i don't care much about changing roms and such but if it's available i wouldn't mind neither.
Lol, the reduction to 5.5 is awesome for me. 6" is just too big for me, 5.5 is a little bigger than I want, but doable. Flex 2 is at the top of my list now.
I loved the orig Gflex but only 32gb of storage was a deal breaker for me. I figured LG would provide expandable storage on the 2nd version so ive been anticipating it.
Def want a bigger screen than on my notes and now looks like a nexus 6 will be what i end up with...even though it also lacks an ext sd card which i dont like.
Man LG why couldnt you just add the storage and call it a day lol.if its not broken dont fix it!

Well it was broken lol, they barely had any audience on that first G Flex and even though yea the curved helped out a bit so one could have a good hold on it that phone was still too big. I have big hands but my flex was constantly falling out of my pockets when I'm entering a car or when I'm even at the gym.
Gotta understand 5.5 ain't that bad and yea 6 is a nice size but 5.5 is the sweet spot I'm just glad they didn't go smaller then that because then it would have been a deal breaker for me and i do also hope that development is much better in this one then the last.

The Flex 2 I believe has an Micro SD slot. It's right above the SIM tray. I saw the Micro SD logo on the inside of the back cover right next to the SIM tray. Definitely considering the device but I'm looking for something with a lot of developer support.

Yes it does indeed, good that they added that feature it was needed badly.
Hopefully there will be better development on this version but LG already has a 5.5" inch device out so people may not bother with the GF2.
The bigger screen on the orig is what set it apart from the G2 at the time but then again the orig didnt sell very well lol.
Time will tell.

It appears to me the specs are enough better than the G3 that the flex 2 might have a shot at developer support against that, even with the same screen size. I'm more concerned that devs will hold out for the G4 though.

I would assume that LG will continue their anti development trend of locking the bootloader again.
This will def hinder development until a workaround is sorted out. I was bent on getting a G3 the day it was released as i loved my G2 but the locked BL absolutely killed it for me here in Canada.

Sadly this does seem to be a continuing trend...
People complain about big phones until they get one. Don't knock it until you try a 6inch phone. The nexus 6 is smaller than the HTC max and the exact same size as the og gflex flex. Wish the flex2 screen was bigger but I'll stay with my nexus 6 I can't go smaller than 6inches two handed or not it's just really nice to have all that screen

5" or bigger?
why not simply got with a Tablet?
Samsung 7" or 10" android galaxy tablets are both hacked and can be used as a phone/data
forgot which of the model has the AWS bands
Really? Phones aren't getting exponentially bigger for a reason, they're not fracking tablets. If it gets above 4.5" then it's hard to hold in any position and isn't able to fit in an average pocket. But cell phone companies likely won't stop until they get a 500dpi screen that covers the whole front of a 5 inch long phone. But that's decades away. Nevertheless this is a fail troll.

HTC Athena is a freaking huge 5" phone that is at least 5 years old, and i still use it
the only reason i barely user it's due its weight
but 5" is easy to hold on 1 hand, and use the thumb to press the buttons
not easy to fit in Jeans pockets, but a normal pants pocket fits just fine
if you are not afraid to sit on it, and squash the LCD

I have the exact same Note III running Tweaked and the same theme.
The battery on the OnePlus One crushes my Note III, as for the camera...well it's about a tie. I do miss eraser mode from my Note III bit not enough to start using it again.
I've had my OnePlus One for about two months now and my poor Note III just sits on my desk. I just updated it to the latest Tweaked the other day but it still just sits there.

I read the OP, I still fall to see the point. As you can see you get one guy saying 'X' is better and another guy saying 'Y' is better. In the end you get no useful information and you need to make the decision for yourself.

I can see the point, it's kind of like bouncing an idea off of someone.
Sure he was probably already leaning one way or another but the majority of people seem to agree and resonate with his opinion, so that's the choice he's choosing. Had they not agreed, maybe he wouldn't have or maybe he would, either way he'd probably feel better that 'some' people see it the same as him.
That's my thoughts anyway, I like reading these, as long as they aren't huge lol. I think they serve a good enough purpose for the people creating them.
But that's just my opinion

I have both an international note 3 and a Oneplus one.
The Oneplus camera is better in low light.
Oneplus battery subjectively seems slightly better due to less bloatware apps running in the background.
The Oneplus firmware is also much smoother again due to lack of bloat.
Only real advantage of note 3 is the pen itself so if you don't need that I'd go for it.

I also have Note 3 T mobile running Tweaked. Love it. I did have a Oneplus One as well. I also liked that one. I had to send it back however as my volume keys did not work. Actually right now, I am trying to decide if I want to try with another one or not. I really liked the phone. My main concern, and it is a big one, is that I might get another bum device from OnePlus. It took one month, literally, to get approval to send my last device back for refund. If I get another bad one, I don't know if I wanna deal with that, again. I am still waiting on the refund too by the way, but should have that this week.
The phones are both great, but I think you gotta consider the customer support too here. Supposedly OP is working on that aspect though, but I haven't seen it yet.

IMO after messing around alot with my freind's note 3 and owning a opo, if i had to compare i would say they are about equal, both have their advantages.
I still have my Note 3 with me as a development phone. As I still have KNOX 0x0 and am not binded to any bootloader lock, I just flash everything on my Note 3/install everything on my Note 3 first before my OPO.
In my opinion, the camera is WAY better on the OPO. The focus and the clarity of the lens is far superior than the dumbed down, slow focusing, Note 3 camera. Try this with your Note 3: Put your finger 10cm away from the camera and try focusing on just the finger with a bunch of paper in the background. This takes around 5-7 tap to focuses compared to OPO's 1-2 taps. I am using the same camera apk file to compare - Google Camera, however no difference when using TW camera and/or CM Camera.
The screen is the only thing you would miss your Note 3 for. The screen on the OPO looks a bit washed out compared to the dense blacks and the vibrant colors. OPO still has great viewing angles, but you're comparing a JDI with an AMOLED - two different technologies.
The OPO has eMMC v5.0 which means faster data speeds compared to the Note 3.
Sound, not really much of a difference. The fact that there's two speakers on the OPO vs. the only one speaker on the Note 3 shouldn't be a deciding factor as the speaker on the OPO isn't running on real stereo but dual mono.
Front facing camera bump up to 5MP is better for those selfie-lovers. Not my thing but if it's yours, then go ahead.
When holding the device, I feel like holding the Note 3 with a full aluminium bumper and an aluminium battery cover actually FEELS NICER than the OPO, as the OPO's thin profile more heightened design feels more delicate to the touch. The OPO definitely feels more premium than the Note 3, as the Note 3 feels like you can break/cause damage to any bit of the phone (screen movement in/out, home button alignment issue/unresponsive click, S Pen slot crack, etc) but with the OPO you have a more sleek profile with a more premium feel.

It really depends on your needs and preferences. Before my opo I had a note 2 a great phone with a lot of features. But I got bored with the note 2 and it's stock features and touchwiz interface. And since flashing aosp ROMs wasn't the same experience as a nexus device. I got an opo.
I have a note 4 and my Opo I have to say I love my note 4 but my Opo still feels more fluid. I love the s pen but as soon as aosp development starts for the note 4 as well as there being a method att aosp is going on the note 4
S-pen handwriting, camera OIS, SD slot, removable battrry, QHD screen (without a hint of yellow), dual SIM make it a clear winner for me.
2-3 months ago OPO was a clear buy. Now, it's maybe 4th or 5th in my eyes.
Don't get me wrong - I still like my OPO. But it just feels a bit dated and generic. Consequence of the fast-paced tech cycle, I guess.

I have seen 4 note 4's and all of them had screen problems from yellowish tint to blue tint. All of them were replaced and after the 4th had the same problem he decided to get his money back and he is going to get a Nexus 6
I thought the screen problem on the Note 4 was well known.
By the way only one of them had any gap worth noting on the side and it was worse at the top right than the bottom right.
so i think the Edge 6 plus in gold just look phenomenal. it looks like the note 5 kind of comes in a goldish color.
how does it look? is the S pen worth it to get over the edge 6+? i know that's the only difference in phones and that it weights a little more. can u tell with the weight?
any other reasons i should pick the note 5 over the 6+?
thank u!!!!

This is something only you can answer because it's all personal preferences. I myself do not like curved screens so any edge variant is out of the question for me. As for the S pen it all depends if you will use it or not. I could live without it but it's there if I do need it. My main reason for purchasing the Note 5 was the screen size and camera.
I went and got the note 5. Coming from a note 3 for over 2 years, it was rooted, recovery and with roms. I was able to live without all that now, for a nice screen, camera and no sd card/removable battery. I like my note 5 but your wants and needs are different than mine. Best of luck and get the phone that you like
The Note 5 and Edge plus are the exact same phone minus the spen. I know a lot of people over the years said the pen is "nice to have" but have not even used it once. I personally use it to sign documents and take quick notes of things I don't want to forget. Apart from that I don't have much use for it myself. Only you know if you are ever going to use the pen or not. If it's not needed, I'd definitely stick with the Edge plus. Not only is it lighter, sleaker, and curved, but it's also got one less piece for you to worry about getting lost/broken/stolen/poke somebody's eye out/etc.

I was in the same boat. Two things turned me to the Note 5 over the S6 Edge+:
1) I actually use the s pen a lot while internet browsing because a lot of the sites I visit use mouse-over to navigate, also signing docs and occasional photo editing
2) The case I would probably be using will cover up the beautiful edge+ anyways
I hate the edge variants. Pointless just for looks imo. I heard the s7 going edge so my next phone will not be the s7.

Me too bro
Coming from G3, almost didn't go to to LG because of it. This thing is a whole different world of awesome. Things that overheated and throttled my G3 don't even warm this thing up, and best part, no data issues going from WiFi to mobile!!! Love the second screen too. Now when I'm navigating and streaming Bluetooth at the same time, I can change tracks without leaving nav app, notifications don't interrupt games/videos...Extremely happy so far!

Yeah I'm agree with you I love the second screen its one's of the things why I get this phone and I like to see my name on the top ? of the screen lol
Need to point out that realistically it is only a 5 inch screen.
With controls and second screen. You effectively have only a 5 inch screen with a whole lot of bulk. Granted the internals are great. Although it is not in any way a 5.7 inch screen. Great phone, but let down on such a massive phone with effectively no more screen area than a S4.
Not to mention. NO blinking notification and no temperature or humidity sensors. Infered is marginal at best.

Umm, no, it's not a 5" screen. The main screen is 5.7" minus how much space the buttons at the bottom take up, which is like any other phone not made my Samsung.
The second screen is a completely independent 2.1" screen. Please don't spread misinformation.
And they didn't put a led light because that is what the second screen is partly for. And if you want all those sensors, get a Samsung.
Sounds like you need to do more research before you buy a $600+ smartphone only to be disappointed for you own lack of research.

Actually, if you go get yourself a tape measure, the 5.7 doesn't include the second screen... And if you're really tech savvy, you can hide the navigation bar when you aren't using it... So on both of those counts, you are wrong... Also, all your notifications appear on the second screen, which to me is more convenient than a blinking light, since I don't even need to open my phone to check my notifications. And also, the infrared controls my stuff from anywhere in the living room, which works fine for me... Considering Samsung no longer has this option, it's a plus. Other than that, sorry to ruin your phone bash, have a super day.

This phone made me love it. My G3 started getting the BSOD and honestly I'd planned switch to a Samsung S7 Edge in March, or whenever it is released. Went to the store to try to get a used G4 just to hold me off until then but they didn't have any. Walked out with the V10. Unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP and SU and have been loving it ever since. I'm not really sure why because aside from the standard faster processor, gig more memory and slightly larger screen, it wasn't that much different from my G3 but I've really grown to like this thing. Second screen is the phone's first bullet point but it's kind of gimmicky and I don't really have a use for it, but besides that stuff just seems to work better on the V10. It doesn't have Bluetooth connection issues like my G3 did, phone doesn't heat a small room under heavy use, and I'm not clearing apps to free up 200mb more memory all day. Call quality is great, quick charge is awesome, and the 5.7" screen is really, really, really nice. A louder and clearer speaker is the only thing the G3 did better but the V10's will do. So I've warmed up to my step child and really not thinking about the S6/S7 at the moment.

You do know that the screen + the second screen measure to 5.9 inches right? I have a S4 also and the screen is alot bigger on the V10 than the S4...

I agree with you. I come from the nexus 6 and so far I love this phone but the lack of custom Rom and development is kind of ?.
Bought mine during launch week, and was disappointed it had major issues: second-screen bleed was bad, and the speaker sounded really distorted. Then a month later the wireless charging chip died.
T-Mobile replaced it with a brand new unit manufactured in late December and it is absolutely perfect. No bleed at all, speaker is crystal-clear. Loving it, especially the camera!
Started out with Lg G2 d800,loved that phone sold it and got lg g3 D850 awesome phone.. Finally decided to get the v10,its very smooth, fast, beautiful display, whenever i take pictures my friends are stunted by how beautiful and rich the photos come out. Manual controls on camera and video, dual front face camera, removable battery , sdcard support, slick and premium design over kill. This is by far the best device i have ever owned since day one 'htc touch pro2' ... Im really impressed with this phone...
I upgraded from a Nexus 6. My first experience with LG (Android wise) was with the G2 and the Flex. So going to the V10 was easy. My only caveat is the fact that I moved back to 5.1.1 when I've been on 6.0.1 for a bit. Can't wait for some decent roms to truly use this phones full potential.
I almost gave up on androind OS after two generations of Samsung Galaxy devices, Note 3 and until today Note 4. The update from Kitkat ruined the Note 4 experience completely for me, if anything left me frustrated. Ive reached an age whereby I just want something to do as it says on the box, typing on the Note 4 became a nightmare for me, tiny space bar mistyping all the time. Wifes Iphone 6plus was appealing but thought Id try another brand of Droid. Earlier today walked out of the T Mobile store with a new V10.
