Release notes
* This is not a bug, but a consequence of the switch to art from dalvik: first boot, updates and apps installation will take longer; this happens because art compiles the apk and does not work like dalvik that was using a just-in-time approach (so expect almost 10 minutes for the first boot and future upgrades)
* Probably few minor things might not be as stable as the stock ROM, in case report it and I will try to fix it.
First install instructions
* As really first thing install one of the available customs recoveries (CWM or TWRP)
* Power off your device and unplug the AC power cord.
* Get the latest available ROM and GAPPS version from the links below and copy them to a MicroSD card.
* Now insert the MicroSD card in your STB.
* Plug the AC power cord while you keep pressed the little reset pinhole (located on the bottom of the device) for 10 seconds (just count slowly to ten and it will be good).
* Once the device has booted to recovery perform a factory reset and flash the ROM's zip for first followed by the GAPPS zip.
* Reboot and enjoy Omni.
Update instructions
* Get the latest available ROM and GAPPS version from the links below and copy them to a MicroSD card.
* Now insert the MicroSD card in your STB.
* Enable "Developer options" following this tutorial.
* Bring up power menu by keeping pressed the power button on the STB for a couple of seconds (or pushing F5 if you have a keyboard plugged in) and select "Reboot -> recovery".
* Once the device has booted to recovery flash the ROM's zip for first followed by the GAPPS zip.
* Reboot and enjoy your updated Omni.
Downloads

Misc Stuff
* When an app forces the portrait orientation, the default behavior is to simulate a portrait / phone-like UI adding black bars to the sides (an example is Antutu when it runs the benchmark, or Box.com). If you prefer to have a landscape stretched UI flash this zip. To revert to the default behavior flash this one instead.
Note that the setting will persist even if you upgrade the ROM so you have to flash that zip only once.
* When you press power button on the TV box or the AirMouse, the default behavior of the device is to perform a shutdown and enter a suspension state (the status LED will turn red) and when you will power it on again, it will have to boot from scratch.
If you find it annoying you can flash this zip (it will have to be flashed after each rom upgrade) that will turn off box's video output but it will mantain it active for background tasks (the LED will stay, in fact, blue) and powering it on will take just a second (the same as it happens on an Android phone or tablet for example)

New build, if you flashed yesterday's build do a factory reset.
* ROM 2015-01-07
* GAPPS 2015-01-07 (LITE)

* ROM 2015-01-09

This build includes a kernel that I've built from sources, disabling an option that was hogging the cpu when a network service was binding on the localhost interface (hopefully all the other things will keep working, I don't know how far it is respect the kernel used by latest WeTek OS roms, in case I'll ask for updated sources).
Acestream, for example, was unusable because of this, now it works like a charm (tested under Kodi 14.1 RC and latest P2P-Streams, right now SopCast shipped with that addon doesn't work with Lollipop)
Included CEC settings under Settings -> WeTek Settings, untested because I have any cec capable device. It should work because it's just a matter about writing some stuff to the proper sysfs file and let the kernel handle it.
Re-introduced the display sleep timeout, setting it to a value different than "Never timeout" will trigger daydream (the screensaver), that you can customized from its settings.
* ROM 2015-01-11

Final fix for the zoom in issue on WeTek Theater. I tried to be nice, but I had to do it the hard way... now it won't happen anymore, it's practically impossible (I hope!!)
* ROM 2015-01-12

Added support for link2sd if you wanna use it prepare a microsd card using the new cwm (be careful, all data on it will be destroyed) and install link2sd from play store
Added ethernet settings to set a static ip (you can access it from "Other" network settings menu), if you use Ethernet, turn off WiFi or it will try to join the network (Lollipop has integrated a much better ethernet service, in fact I'm not using Amlogic's anymore, but it could be better like toggling WiFi on/off when eth cable is plugged in/out, in case I'll give it a look if I can do something for it, I had already to change some things that were broken on Amlogic)
Other minor things

Should i get OTA update after installation of magisk,???
Hi!
I use a translator.
The traffic indicator does not work, always shows zero (on havoc os version from the first of December was the same). A trifle, of course, but how can I fix it?
Thanks!
Thanks for the hard work.
Couple of findings (Clean Flash):
1. When phone is powered on, the boot animation gets stuck and phone needs to be restarted again to be able to actually boot.
2. Camera takes pictures with green color. Video is fine. Tried Open Camera as well, same issue.
3. Factory reset (from settings) doesn't work.
4. Updater doesn't work.
5. There is an app with the android icon in the launcher which says "To view this content, install and set up a web browsing app". Even though I have Chrome install and Web View updated.
Thanks for the update! thanks for your hard work...

Awesome man! Thanks!
I just flashed it on my Sakura but during initial setup, it doesn't proceed even though I have connected to wifi. I skipped the setup and reconnected wifi and tried again from the notification bar but it keeps looping between screenlock etc. Unable to proceed.
Fyi, Flashed opengapps nano.
Rapid charging is not supported. Kindly fix
Minor bugs
There is some bugs I've seen after installing this ROM.
1. When I select the user icon on the top right corner of the settings, there's a notification pops up and says, "Settings keeps stopping"
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-2lww_EdT3yqZAdot_HT4zMfnVz0pUyQ/view?usp=drivesdk
2. When I go to call someone, the caller menu shows dark and the text is also black even when i have dark mode disabled!
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-1nLHBE1gDsDnvd4WLZoEbaLaNiBOAA2/view?usp=drivesdk
3. When I open more settings of the WiFi on the quick settings menu, I see the background in low opacity when the circle is animating. Here is a drive link of that video:

@himanshu20 thank you for your work! Installing now, will update post using the ROM for some time!
Thanks for another option for our device.
Issues faced so far:
1.Encryption is not supported by this ROM, had to Format Data to install it.
2. Google Restore Setup wizard keeps crashing when I tried to restore data via cloud, to resolve the issue I had to install NikGapps Basic + PixelSetupWizard addon.
3. Style & Wallpaper package is missing and you would be stuck with OP's choice of theme only.
4. Icon pack support is there but whenever I tried to apply an icon pack, the launcher is adding padding to the icons to make it look circular, no option to set Icon Type to default.
Will be able to comment on battery and charging after couple of days of usage.

Thank you for the new build.
However, wiping /data (partition) and Format Data are two different things which was not clear from the instructions.
I can't install the Magisk zip file from the Magisk manager!
It's because my phone reboots even after shutdown.
Is there any solution to that?
I need to root my phone ASAP!

I've been on this ROM for a couple of days now. It doesn't BSOD like the 4.7 ver which is excellent, and the recents bug is no more, which is also very nice, so the ROM is really usable!
There are a few things that are sort of annoying.
- The 'low volume mic' bug is present again - it seems to get fixed in some versions only to return after a few iterations, but thankfully it only seems to be affecting video recording and voice memos, regardless of the app
- Unlocking the phone takes a couple of seconds (first, the screen takes a second to turn on, and then after swiping up to enter my unlock pattern, it freezes for a second (every time) and then proceeds to work normally) - NOTE: Firmware update seems to have fixed this
- The SW in general seems to be really stuttery for an indefinite amount of time, even when I didn't install anything on it - NOTE: fixed with firmware update?
- Probably one of the most annoying ones is that the Always On Display basically can not be turned off, and it seems like when it is turned on, it is like it is in this preliminary "sort of standby" state, to which after I double tap the screen, the screen flashes like it just turned on the actual AOD, and then after another double tap, it would give me the regular screen.
- The brightness slider in the QS panel seems to go back up after some time (I put it to always stay at the bottom, and it works for a while. Resetting this parameter seems to fix it temporarily, so idk what is going on there)
Everything else is absolutely wonderful tho! I'm more than happy to have bugs like these than the BSOD issues! Keep up the good work, my dude
EDIT: I think I just fixed the smoothness issue with flashing the latest China stable firmware - I completely forgot to do that! I'll keep this post updated!
ok google voice match not work
what FW should i flash ? thanks
I found a bug
The phone won't connect to hidden wifi networks

---------- Discussion Custom Rom & GSI ----------
Everything working ?
Here's my experience with Xtended-XT-v1-FirstBlood-VANILLA-tulip-OFFICIAL-20220918-1349.zip
- flashing required me to remove the 1st line of the file "updater-script" inside the .zip ROM, otherwise I'd get error "E3004: This package is for device: tulip; this device is twolip."
- upon installation it thinks automatically connecting to your mobile data is a good idea (unwanted connections can incur in money waste with some data plans)
- no Bluetooth Audio Codecs listed in the Developer Options so I assume it doesn't work ("Gray-out means not supported by phone or headset")
- Night Light is iffy, must turn it ON manually at every phone boot, and in certain situations it turns itself OFF
- double tapping the top right/top left corner to turn off the screen will open the clock or the battery menus instead, like 30% of the times
- the brightness of the "app list menu from the home screen" (scroll from down to up) doesn't lit right, like 30% of the times
- buggy default camera app, gets stuck in the same frame most of the time
- signature spoofing for microG was more painful to implement than expected considering the ROM supposedly supports it (had to install Magisk -> microG Installer Revived -> LSPosed -> FakeGApps)
- the Contacts app says "You have disabled a required permission" when trying to import contacts from a .vcf file (can use an external app for it though like "am.ed.importcontacts")
- GSam Battery Monitor incorrectly shows 0% screen battery consumption
- Greenify kills phone calls (no interface to answer them if you receive a phone call while the screen is OFF but you can still hear the ringtone), maybe not a MSMXtended-related problem but it drove me so insane it's worth mentioning (Greenify with the same settings worked fine in Android 11 LineageOS and Android 12 ArrowOS)
- Magisk works, but refuses to update from 25.0 to 25.2 from the Update button inside the app (crashes at every attempt). No big deal and maybe not MSM's fault, but I'm just saying
- why would the supposedly degoogled "vanilla" ROM use Gboard when OpenBoard exists?
- WTF is the pre-installed Via Browser? Just give me a real one like Chromium or Bromite or Fennec F-Droid
As expected, this old phone getting Android 13 support so soon was too good to be true. Stay away.
