[Q] Battery and heating issue - LG G Pro 2

Hi. My LG G Pro 2 is facing battery issues. It is getting discharged very quickly. It is also getting heated for no reason. My phone has been rooted via towelroot. I had rooted the device long back, but the problem started today. It has the original LG software. Kindly help.

Can try restart.
Any special apps you installed or updated lately?
Sometimes, google service update that is pushed automatically will have this effect. A day or 2 later, problem would be gone.

I had installed the game killer app. Did that cause a problem? I have deleted it now, but the battery issue is still there.

look in the settings under Battery to see what is using the most.

HELP: Inspire started crashing recently

I have an unrooted HTC Inspire with stock GingerBread upgrade ROM. Recently for over 2 weeks, system started crashing on any random application from HTC sense to Gmail or even Firefox. I have tried both force close option and report but the phone becomes touch insensitive. I have pull out the battery and force a reboot. Sometimes the system is power saver mode, when I press the power button the screen doesn't illuminate and remains dark. I have to pull out the battery and reboot. I have tried plugging into the wall to see whether its a power issue but the screen still doesn't illuminate
I haven't installed any new application recently. There were numerous application updates that went through but nothing that stands out.
any help to debug this is much appreciated!
Did you update to gingerbread over the air?
Mine has been doing the same thing. I did the ota as soon as it came to my phone and never had issues till now. Today I was recording a video of my car and I couldn't stop it. nothing that I touched works I had to do a battery pull which sucks with a otter box defender.. After the reboot my brightness settings changed and it disabled background data. What's wrong?

When you mean over the air, you mean using ATT mobile network? yes, I did. Gingerbread update ran months ago, this just started happening
Unrooted phone with problems mean return to Store (lol). Dont try to figure the issues out just return for a new one.

Ok, the reason I ask is because I saw some people were having issues with the update and a factory reset solved it.
Have you tried a full restore? I had a similar problem with my Dell Streak. I had to fully reset/restore/return to factory settings. But the problems went away!

Nexus 5 keeps crashing!

Managed to get myself one from the CPW yesterday afternoon, and since then I think my new phone has crashed about 150 times. Every time I open any browser app, it crashes. If I use the loud speaker then which back to earpiece while on a call, it crashes. The list goes on.
Anyone else experiencing anything like this?
I got mine from CPW and now had a single thing crash! A few apps have lagged for a second or two but that's becuase they haven't been updated I'm assuming.
But as far as the OS is concerned I have not had these problems. Maybe something went wrong during your update? I'd try a reset.

Thanks for the reply. Just tried a factory reset. I noticed that I didn't need to download the update this time. As soon as I tried a few of the apps it crashed.
Any other ideas?

i had the play store crash on me quite abit when browsing my app purchase history, also the main launcher a couple of times. i don't think it's *quite* ready for primetime just yet. the price of being an early adopter i suppose.
Yeah suppose it is. I'm having to take it back today. It's restarting every 2 mins. Gutted!

The camera app crashed multiple times even after a reboot.
Also, when I was trying to search contacts the google search crashed.
I'm also having seemingly random crashes. At least a few times a day. No pattern. Could be from pressing the power button. Watching a video on YouTube. Just typing into this box. Anything. I already tried doing a factory reset. No luck.
Maybe a bad flash? Reflash factory image if it still crashes, return it. I've been using mine since Monday, the only thing that crashed was Firefox Beta but that's fixed now with the new update.
Had my nexus 5 for about 3 days now.
It randomly restarts through out the day,
I'll be watching youtube videos with the youtube app I'll just watch the volume bar just go to 0 when I'm not even touching the volume buttons, I'll turn it back up only for it to auto turn back down.
Today I'm having issues with the camera, very time load the camera and try to take a picture, it will just freeze and the phone will reboot.
I've also had issues with the WiFi connecting to my network, like I have to trick it into connecting.
I want to love this phone but all of this random crap is pissing me off.

How to understand crashed? Rebooted or just your apps crashed on it?
If only apps, it might be 'cause they are not compatible with Android KitKat yet.

For me it freezes up for around 5-10 seconds then restarts. There is no usage Or app associated.
Tried reloading the stock image. No difference. RMA it is!
Nexus 5 problem list:
Oops...my earlier reported problems with crashing were resolved after simply restarting phone...
Wow...I haven't had a single crash on Android from 1.6 all the way to 4.4.2 now. Guess I'm just lucky. I did have a Moto X that kept rebooting though, but it turned out to be a bad RAM chip. Maybe thats the problem here?

mm-qcamera-daemon

I am running a stock Nexus 5 with 4.4.2. and mm-qcamera-daemon has been significantly lowering my battery life and I do not know which app is causing it. Does anyone know where this originated from or what it is?

it comes from the camera, when you take hdr+ photos.
Are you using any battery saving apps? If so, get rid of them.

I'm having this problem too. I don't have snapchat or any of the other applications that have been claimed to cause it.
I haven't installed any new camera using apps so it's probably due to some update. Stock rom, was happening on stock kernel, is still happening on linaro.

I'm not sure if this helps or relates to your situation but I had that problem about a month after installing jishnu's camera...kinda came out of nowhere one day. I deleted the app/ mod, rebooted and reinstalled it and haven't had the problem since.
this is a nightmare, as it is unpredictable, with no solution, and not addressed by google.. Even after a factory reset, it ends up coming back.
I got this 2 days ago, first time ever. And I have been using my camera consistently.
First when I start my camera, I get Unable to connect to camera, so I rebooted, and camera works again, but at the end of the day, I saw the high memory usage. I rebooted the phone again yesterday and it seems fine again. Buggy...
And this process have no "Report" button like Google Search or Google Maps have, so I have no way of reporting this issue to Google.
One of the culprit is Yahoo! Messenger's voice/video plugin... Or any other apps that will use the camera..
If you were trying to upload a picture but failed in the mid way... this might occured as the app will always trying to upload the pic eventhough it got failed..
Per my similar topic here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2564457 the culprit for me seems to be an update to Skype pushed out a few days ago.

hmm, now you mentioned it, I did install skype on my phone a while ago.
Let me uninstall it!
Since I removed Skype I've had zero more black screens; I'm pretty confident that this is the cause for me.
Negative Guys....
I'm sure that is not third party apps that is causing that drainage,
Why in the world suddenly all people are experiencing this batt drainage with many different apps and blaming them?
I have the problem with weather channel and the mm-qcamera-daemon, others with skype, others with yahoo messenger and so on, this problem suddenly?
I believe that google is working on that problem but not saying anything about it.
Please read all these reports in these 2 links and after that tell me that I'm wrong.

I know that some people just uninstall an application and then it works again as before, but later on the problem shall arise in a few days or something, I've read this. Let me uninstall it and let you know, maybe it was an update that caused the problem but I got The Weather Channel that said it was something similar to mm-qcamera.daemon and I uninstalled it and the same problem, I deleted the cache and davlik cache as well and it did not work, I have rebooted several times and it seems that I have to do a nandroid restore and see what happens after that.

I am not actually blaming them, just want to find out HOW to make sure this doesn't happen to me. If it involves uninstalling Skype, then let it be.
This is definitely a OS process, its whether there's a bug in the OS, that was triggered by Skype, OR its that Skype is not using the API correctly, either way, the "solution" for now is just to uninstall Skype.

Random reboots

Hi guys, I got my G920i from an ebay seller that everyone here has been talking about. The phone was in great condition and everything was fine with the phone for the first 24 hours. Ever since then , my phone has been constantly rebooting after a few hours on it's own. I have not installed any apps that I normally don't have on my other android device , the oneplus one. The G920I is not rooted or anything. The only app I can think of , that is different this time from the OPO , is the samsung push service update. I checked around and could not see anyone else who had recvd the Push service update and was facing the same issue.
Please help!
same
I have the same issue. I also bought the international version off of eBay. I didn't notice anything for about two days, but have now had the phone restart on me three times. All three times I was not actively using the phone and the screen was off.
One thing that I tried was to reinstall the Samsung push service update. That worked for 3 days as I didn't see any more reboots. And just 15 mins ago it happened again while the phone was in my pocket. Hope this gets fixed soon.
It has happened to me twice. I just disabled the auto update feature for my apps to see if that actually works. Will let you know if it worked after a couple of days.
I've had the phone since last tuesday and didnt notice any random reboots until this app updated and now i have 3-5 a day

Im only around open networks at work and it does the soft reboots around my house which is secured
My random reboots started shortly after the Samsung Push Services app was updated. I force stopped it, disabled it and uninstalled the update and I haven't had a reboot in a while.
My phone was rebooting several times every day before that.
Edit: The random reboots are back. This is very frustrating.
reflash the firmware fix the problem for me. No reboot since 24 hours. 5 to 6 reboots per day before. Hope it will continue.
I also have the same issue. It has happened 2 times for me, today and yesterday. I had the phone in my hand and suddenly I see the Samsung logo. Within 5 minutes it reboots 2-3 times. This sucks =(
I have the same problem, it only happens to me when I open Play Store or when I update something.
Edit: I have the F model.
I have had my 920i for almost a week, and I haven't had any random reboot at all. Everything works as supposed to.

I bought my 920i from Breed on Ebay. Everything has been great for the most part, but I do experience a random reboot at least once every few days. It just happened to me while sitting on my desk.
I am rooted, but I don't have any crazy customizations and I applied stock recovery after root. Only one app is frozen and it's that Samsung Security Agent process that was draining my battery. I also have it connected to a Gear S, but I'm pretty sure that's not the issue.
I wiped it twice yesterday and then set it up. It's definitely not a ROM/cache issue. I'll be interested to see if anyone figures out what this is. It could just be a bug that we'll have to deal with until the next update. Fortunately, the phone restarts super fast.
I also believe this is a software issue. I am not rooted and don't see myself doing that any time soon.
Which network are you using on your 920i? I am on AT&T network

AT&T here, also.
I'm using the G920F with an european carrier, so I think that is a global problem.
It happened to me twice today. That's a first. The only thing that's different is that I have a Gear S connected full time.
Didn't Android 5.01 cause the phone to reboot after some time due to running out of available memory?

I see you have two SIM cards - try to remove them both or switch phone to airplane mode and see if it lags.
- is it rooted?
- is it default kernel?
- is it a beta version?
- is it global or EU?

Not a hardware issue.
You are running some application, that probably has a memory leak or an errant background process.
What did you install recently?
Nothing wrong with a reset every few days.

definitely not problem, but temporary solution is not a solutioon acc to m
I reboot my phone(s) every day...actually I am now able to turn mine off every night...so....same thing.
The result??? I rarely have any problems on any of the phones I have ever owned.
Android is NOT Windows Server which can be up 24/7 365 with few issues. But Windows Server is WAY more polished than Android as it has existed far longer in the enterprise environment. So for those of you who complain about issues...and never reboot...well...............
I just formated my Oneplus 7t pro. Restarted a few times after initial configuration.
Still there's lag when opening dialer, settings, and sometimes keyboard pops up a bit late.
