I Hope this is the right place to post this question, If not I will repost elsewhere. I did a search for this but could not find much info.
So I successfully unlocked the bootloader on my Droid maxx via Sunshine, and decided to try some of the newer basebands. I'm running 4.4 19.5.3 stock rom, and the newest radios from here seemed to have messed up my bluetooth and wifi tether. I can't see bluetooth devices, and they can't find my device when discoverable is enabled. Also, wifi tether only works in the upper channels (149-165) Which I'm assuming is the 5Ghz band, but when I set it to any channel in 1-11, none of my wifi devices can see the network. Does anyone have the stock baseband for 19.5.3? I only see radios for 19.6.3, and the other radios for 4.4.4 cause my phone to display the "restriced access changed" error and I was unable to get any cellular connection. I think the solution is to go back to the baseband radio sw that came originally with 19.5.3, but I don't see any links for that version.

Not sure its def. your problem, but I uploaded it here: http://d-h.st/Asa
Thanks for the reply, I just tried flashing that, and it made things worse, I was not even able to unlock my phone at startup and a lot of things were crashing, so I reverted to one that was semi-working. From the file description, it looks like that is for 4.2.2, so that may be the problem since I am currently on 4.4. Do you have anything else that could help? Otherwise, I think I need to flash a whole new rom.

hi,
I bought a Verizon 3G Xoom in the US and took it back home to Denmark. Now, the 3G doesn't work of cause, but on top of this some app (like Good Tech for Enterprise) won't run because they think I belong to the verizon network (that don't allow Good Tech).
So long story short. I don't need 3G and I would like to lose the verizon stigma. My xoom is already rooted. Can I run the Canadian wifi fireware on it?
Doubtful.

Im confused. If you read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041453&page=2
The user successfully flashed Canadian firmware on a US WIFI version Xoom. If you read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1022382
the user accidentally flashed 3G firmware on a WIFI and it seems to me that it worked until he tried to unroot it again.
Why would you state that its not possible?

3g firmware on wifi devices has already caused issues in the past.
I would assume that you are asking for nothing but trouble the other way as well.
Hi All,
I would like to know if there is a method to root/unlock the Australian version of the Motorola Xoom (Telstra branded).
Details listed here:
Model Number: MZ601
Android Version: 3.0.1
Firmware: GAS_ASIA_USAEVRSTUTELSAU_PO21
Baseband: N_01.83.28P
Baseband Config: UCAEVEUB1B8EU034.0R
Kernel: 2.6.36.3
Build Number: H6.1-38-9
Thanks all. I absolutely love this devices but I need super powers to enjoy it just like my Desire HD.
Use the same process for the EU UK Xoom, which is also an MZ601.
Hi
I did this today with mine, following these guides in the following order, the first one roots the 3.0.1 install our xooms shipped with, and the second one handles the upgrade to 3.1 and rooting on 3.1

Hi, I previousy flashed my xoom with the clockworkmod recovery images (HC 3.1), (which are US) and i dont have 3g anymore... is there a way to flash back to euro/AU stock or rooted (idk i just want 3g back lol)?
thanks in advance!
Upgrading to 3.1 and keeping 3g ??
Has anyone with a Telstra Xoom upgraded to 3.1 and kept 3g??
I have rooted my stock xoom now want to enable the SD and upgrade to 3.1 but would like to have a functioning 3g
I am having trouble finding the guide to enabling the sdcard. I have installed clockworkmod but it is useless without the sdcard ???
Help need ..... I am wondering if anyone out there are able to send me the files to enable 3g on Telstra as described in this post.
My situation is a follows. I have an Australian Telstra xoom and tried one of the 1 click root programs. After much pain and research I now realise 2 things. 1/ this completely stuffed by device, it now hangs at the logo on boot. 2/ even if it did work it is for US networks only. I have worked my way through the posts and have managed to recover the device by fastbooting with the euro boot.img described in this post. Problem is no 3g. This post provides a description of how to extract the Telstra 3g files for the device before it gets trashed. I did not do this. So I am assuming I now need to source these files from someone who has a working Telstra xoom.
Can anyone out these assist......

I Have the same problem! i tried to root my telstra xoom and got bricked.
I then flashed the german images.
I have now updated to HC 3.1, from the german rom to the us one, (i used this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1089695) hoping that it may fix the carrier probs, to no avail.
I can see the telstra network (as well as vodafone etc.) but the xoom doesnt connect to it, and if i try to manually pick the network, it says "registered on network" but i still dont have network access
Edit: Would someone be able to upload the files from their working telstra xoom, so that we can push them to ours in a last ditch effort?
Frustrating isn't it... I think if we can get someone to rip the telstra comms (as described in the original post) files off a working AUS Telstra Xoom we may be ok. This is a bit of a guess but worth a try?
see thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1100372
which may have your answer
yes have a look at the thread suggested above as I have been the one posting to that and the files have fixed my 3g problems. Now connected to telstra no probs.
See my recent post on that thread as I still have a remaining problem with wifi.

Thanks So Much! (+1) I got it working now, with 3.01, couldnt make 3.1 work... but i dont care. as long as it works!
Hi all, I also have a Telstra Xoom (MZ601).
I have already upgraded to 3.1 and the Tiamat deodexed ROM 1.0, but before I did that I made a nandroid backup of the original images.
Like most people, I do not have 3G data capability, but I can apparently make and receive phone calls, so it is sort of working.
I have the original build.prop and other images; would they help?
Samsung Nexus S I9023 (Australian stock)
Baseband version I9020XXKI1 (from bootloader screen)
Baseband version I9023XXKI1 (from System Settings>About phone)
Bootloader version I9020XXKL1 (from bootloader screen)
Kernel version 3.0.8-g6656123
I have been using my Nexus S I9023 with official OTA 4.0.4 (and 4.0.3 before update) with no wifi or network problems. Yesterday however I decided to unlock bootloader, gain root access and flash a custom rom for performance/battery life purposes. I flashed CyberGR-MOD v.11 with the stock kernel and radio with CWM, with no other add-ons flashed.
It went well except for the fact that wifi has not been able to turn on since the first reboot. The switch will attempt to slide to 'On' but flickers, and hangs on 'Turning Wi-Fi on..' It makes no difference whether the SIM is inserted or not, Wi-Fi just does not turn on. Under 'Advanced' WiFi settings, WiFi MAC address and IP address are both Unavailable.
I have been searching for fixes for the last day, such as the WiFix apk found on this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445766) but nothing has worked. I have tried flashing other ROMs, reverting to stock OTA 4.0.3 and relocking the bootloader to return the phone to stock, but WiFi will not turn on in any configuration.
Portable WiFi hotspot also will not work, with merely 'Error' being reported when I try to turn it on.
Is the disparity between bootloader/phone stats regarding baseband version an indicator that I flashed incorrectly? Is it a radio problem?
Would greatly appreciate some speedy responses as I cannot seem to find any solutions to this particular problem.
[EDIT] Fixed problem by installing new kernel, was not able to do this before as my version of CWM was bugged and required an update. From then on was able to flash new files, kernel was the answer!
I ordered an unlocked Rogers HTC One X to use on at&t, which I received yesterday (Wednesday). When I got the device, I inserted my SIM card, added the "at&t pta" APN (which I found here on XDA) and connected just fine to at&t's LTE network. No troubles through the rest of the day.
This morning (Thursday), I noticed I only had "4G" signal, i.e. not connected to LTE. I checked in the mobile data settings, under Network Mode, and saw that the GSM/WCDMA auto was checked. I switched that over to the GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto, LTE showed up in the status bar, but I had zero data connection. This has been the case all day today. The LTE symbol is there, but only the Up arrow blinks between white and black; the Down arrow does not light up at all, so no data on LTE.
- HSPA data works fine
- my at&t plan is definitely provisioned for LTE (I've been using a couple of other LTE devices in the last few months with no trouble)
- LTE data definitely worked yesterday (speedtest showed over 15mbps down and 11 up)
- I did put my SIM card back into my Galaxy Nexus for a couple of hours last night before putting it back into the One X (I'm thinking this is somehow related, but can't figure out)
- I've tried a couple other at&t APN settings (Cingular wap - fine for 3G data, but no LTE, 'Phone', again fine for 3G data, no LTE)
- My SIM card is indeed a micro-SIM and is only a couple of months old, at most
Any ideas? I'm pretty much out of ways to troubleshoot at this point, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I think there is a specific AT&T APN that you need to plug in to get LTE enabled. Did you make sure your SIM is LTE compatible? Are you running the stock Rogers ROM or did you install a custom ROM? Is your bootloader unlocked? Have you tried updating the radio to AT&T default radio?
Just wanted to knock some of those questions out there.
I think the AT&T PTA APN is the LTE setting that's out there. I haven't come across any others.
I'm completely stock (it is a Rogers rom), haven't yet rooted or unlocked the bootloader or anything like that. Nothing has been flashed.
Actually, I just realized I ran the software update last night before bed, which put me on software version 1.94.631.3. Android version 4.0.3, Sense 4.0. Now I'm willing to bet this is the cause of my trouble. But HSPA working and LTE not working is still puzzling.
I wonder if it's the radio version not being 100% compatible. Are you willing to unlocking and flashing a custom Rom based on an at&t Rom? That could rule out a software issue assuming your apn settings are good.
I have the Telus version and had lte issues until just recently on CleanROM.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I was thinking about going through the unlocking/flashing process this weekend actually, as I'm pretty sure there is an issue with the radio like you said.
Just need to find some good tutorials to get me started.
Thanks!
Check out the guide I have in my signature. It's for the Telus variant, but the Spoof-CID would work with the Rogers version as well. Also, the Rogers version is, by default, unlockable though HTCDev.com so you're good there. The step by step instructions on HTCDev is pretty straightforward, but having a tool like the Spoof-CID program helps in getting the required information sooner.
Definitely read up on it and ask as many questions as possible. Good luck!
Great, I'll check out your link.
Thanks for the help.
So I managed to get LTE working!
I figured I would at least flash a different radio.
- Started out with the htcdev.com unlock method, which was pretty much painless.
- Used the method in Athrun88's signature to get TWRP flashed over to the One X
- Downloaded (and flashed) one of the CM10 nightlies
- Downloaded (and flashed) the AT&T 1.85 radio file
- Dialed *#*#INFO#*#* from the deviced and selected GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto network mode
- Got LTE!
Flashing CM10 might not have been completely necessary of course, but I couldn't resist, and it's been pretty great so far.
Make sure you go and knock out the superCID hack too. That way when things go wrong, u can use the 1.85 at&t ruu and skip all that in the future:beer:
Hi SBA1226
Thanks for sharing. I had the same problem after doing the Rogers update and thought the At&t LTE service was out in my area.
I had flashing experience with my gnex, but never dealt with HTC phone. What exactly is that Spoof-CID.bat procedure as described in Athrun88's guide? Was that the guide that you follow? Would really appreciate if someone can point me to a step-by-step (maybe with picture ) guide.
Another question I have is do you loose functionality like wifi hotspot or media link HD when you flash custom rom like CM10 or cleanrom 4.5 DE?
Thanks.
I did not use the spoof-CID in Athrun88's guide, but I did use the rest of the guide to get TWRP recovery flashed to my One X.
You'll want to start out by going to the htcdev.com site, registering, and following the step by step instructions there to get your bootloader unlocked. They make it really easy to complete.
Once this is done, you should still be in fast boot mode, so just follow Athrun88's guide to flash TWRP, and you're on your way to flashing ROMs.
I can't speak for CleanROM, but I've had no issues with wifi tethering in CM10.
Also, there are quite a few guides on YouTube that I found really helpful.
Good luck!
Thanks. I will try it this weekend.
By the way, is there a simple way to back to stock? Thanks.
I was in the same situation with a Rogers One XL, no LTE on CM10, and here's what I have done so far to get LTE working, though I'm not quite done.
1. RUU back to 1.94 Rogers (from this thread): http://forums.team-nocturnal.com/sho...X-XL-LTE-RUU-s
2. Unlocked the bootloader using the official process, flashed TWRP
3. Flashed the stock rooted 1.85 ATT ROM from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
4. Flashed the ATT 1.85 firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1694012
I had LTE now.I then flashed to ATT 2.20 ROM & FW (not RUU) and LTE still worked.
I assume it was a RIL/FW compatibility/requirement for ATT LTE, so going to CM10 should work, but I have not tried.
Hope that helps some.
Just bought a Verizon m8 and I'm looking for a rom that will allow me to use it with T-Mobile and it's wifi calling. Anybody know if there is such an animal? It is rooted, S-off and super Cid. Would also be nice if media link HD worked. thanks in advance.
Venom rom with tweaks during install. I'm currently writing up a how to, but basically you change your mid to tmobile and copy a boot.img into the venom rom 5.0.2.
Now, if you're currently not on MM, you will have to update your radio firmware.
A word of caution, the data will be unreliable on MM until you configure up bands with DFS. Essentially if you are moving around between data types, you may lock up your data and require a quick airplane mode on/off to get data back.
You may be able to accomplish my workaround with the lollipop version of venom, haven't tested.
