Because you upgraded to Lollipop, you have updated your bootloader too. Apparently this version for the bootloader (41.18) is not 100% compatible with the KitKat kernel. All you can do is wait to receive the Lollipop update and the problem will go away.
DO NOT in any case try to downgrade your system, this is how I bricked my Moto G.

DOWNGRADE possible from JB to ICS Retail with LOCKED bootloader (Brazil)

Ok. I did this 5 times just to be shure.
My phone is a RAZR HD xt925 GSM
At least here in Brazil, if you update your ICS 4.0.4 through OTA to JB 4.1.2 you can flash ICS back with no problems using RSD, and you DON´T NEED to UNLOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER.
If you get stuck in the red M logo after this... just turn off the phone (power + vol down for 10 sec) then turn on again, enter the recovery and wipe data and cache.
It seems the upgrade through OTA keeps the same booloader or doesn´t change anything that make you stuck to the atualization.
Be happy!
=p
PLEASE.. everything you do,do it with 100% battery!!!!!
Thank you! This is very valuable information. I do not want to root right now as I am pleased with the stock rom at the moment. However, knowing myself, I will want to root at some point, and then being able to do so WITHOUT unlocking bootloader is super nice! :good:

Help, HARDBRICK of 5.0 to 4.4

Full Lollipop firmware has been released, try flashing it.

No solution at the moment.

Hi Rafa, make this downgrade is very complex.
As the Lolipop 5.0 updates the bootloader of the Moto G, make a downgrade, if successful, leave somes consequences.
Now with your case is only wait the Motorola launch the full rom for the people able to upgrade the MBM CI.
And I think that some moderators will complain that topic with replys only in portuguese
Navigating in the forum i found a full rom, flash this to maybe revive your Moto G

Como tirar Recovery Custom do L 5.0.2? *How i do to take the CWM in 5.0.2?

Boa tarde amigos,

Good afternoon friends ,
I'm using 5.0.2 Lollipop ( LXB22.46-28 ) and he is very bug and slow . I did root the device and installed CWM too.
I would like to take root and CWM returning the recovery factory . How i do?
I have to install the complete Stock Room or can flash the recovery of Kitkat only ?

[Q] Help me, PLEASE!!!!

I have the moto g xt1033 with 4.4.4 ROM 210.12.40.falcon_umtsds.Brasil.en.BR
Version: KXB21.14-L1.40
Bootloader unlocked
Original recovery KXB20.9-1.8-1.4
But I can't change or update rom or via USB or OTA, or recovery.
Always gives error, regardless of the method that I use or recovery installed (Original, CWM [5.x, 6.x ...] or TRCP [I think it so writes ???])
Via fastboot is giving error: 256MB storage.
Even having done general WIPE.
If anyone can help to upgrade'll be grateful.
Obs .: I've tried all the tutorials that I found here on the forum.
Obs.²: The smartphone works normal, just cant change rom (custom or oficial)

Versão: KXB21.14-L1.40
Bootloader unlocked
Recovery original KXB20.9-1.8-1.4
Via fastboot fica dando erro: storage 256MB.

Does your phone work in current state? If not you may have to revert to a stock ROM.
