Swap back and recent app buttons ? - AT&T LG G3

Wondering if anyone has a flashable mod to accomplish this ? I see it's available for the Nexus 6, but not the LG G3:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/themes-apps/softkey-mod-swap-recents-button-t2977387
I'm coming off of 4 years worth of Samsung Galaxy's, and my muscle memory is hard to retrain
Let me know... Thanks !

Settings > Display > Home touch buttons > Button combination
This is actually a built in feature, you enable it that way.

I am running the illusion lollipop ROM. I don't see this option in there anywhere. I'll ask in that dev thread. Thanks.

RootBox 2.2 for SGS2 issues

Hi
Flashed the RootBox v2.2 ROM (a combo of AOKP, CM10 + tweaks) a while ago, and some support is missing.
Couldn't find answers in the dedicated developer's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1806401
Nor here.
1. Long press on home screen doesn't bring up the shortcuts/widgets menu, so cannot create shortcuts fast.
2. Cannot record a call (no mic button on the dialer).
3. No voice recording built-in ICS/JB app - had to search the Play and download one.
4. Cannot increase the amount of home screens - have only 5.
5. Cannot minimize the home screens in order to see them all and select one. Used to do that using a pinch gesture.
6. Cannot go straight from the first home screen backwards to the last (i.e. recursive support).
Happy for any tips, :good:
Cheers, Gaby

It depends what launcher did you choose. If you choose Apex you can do number 4 and 5 for sure. In apex go on apex settings, homescreen and then manage screens and you can add and remove how many screens you want and choose which to set as default.
When it comes to gestures such as pinch to preview you can enable it in gestures but I do not know whether you need the pro version.
Regarding question 6 I do not know what you mean.
Apex has question 1 as well.
If I am not mistaken AOKP does not support call recording.
Hope it helped you

Indeed I've installed the default launcher. I'll install the Apex as you suggested.
Re Q #6, I meant I couldn't scroll backwards from the first home page straight to the last.
Thanks the the quick replay! :good: Gaby

You can do that in Apex as well. If you are running on Jelly Bean I suggest that you use the Beta Version of Apex which is found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1452663
If you are using ICS you can use the normal one found on their website. To enable gestures I think you need to pay for the pro version.
To enable the feature to move from the last screen to the first screen you have to go into Apex settings, Home Screens, Modify home screens and set the default screen as the first one (by putting a star on it). Then go in behaviour settings (from apex settings) and select home screen action --->>> go to default screen. In the behaviour settings you can enable pinch to zoom etc.
If you wish to install software as a system application you can either:
1) use titanium backup to push it to the systems folder
2) Install root explorer, copy the apex.apk and paste it into the system folder. Restart the mobile and then you will have it as system application.
If you need more help do not hesitate to ask, I'll do my best to help you.

[Q] Need a few adjustments on my GN5

Hi!
Please, could you recommend some applications and/or ROM which could help me achieve these things on my Nexus 5?
1. I'd like more customizable Android overall (guess any more advanced custom ROM would achieve it?).
2. A use for the drop-down top menu (or what it is called), from my old HTC I'm used it to show recent apps, however a brightness slider there would be also nice.
3. Customizable home-button pressed menu.
4. Long-pressed back button=menu.
Thanks
Most of the roms have the above features you have mentioned. Head over to Development section and select a rom which suits you the best.
Discussing/comparing roms/kernels isn't allowed over here, so you will have to try it out yourself!

[APP Share] Spen Command for all AOSP and unofficial ROM n7000

S-Pen Command for all AOSP and unofficial ROM
Using S-Pen stylus on a rooted custom ROM which doesn't have S-Pen support like AOSP or MIUI.
Tested on my n7000 with Lollipop 5.1 NightOwl Beta 2
Open quick menu on removal S-pen does not work, just remove the S-pen and press the button twice to activate S-Pen Command
Best app features:
- take a full-screenshot holding stylus button while it is touching the screen
- take a cropped-screenshot (with post-editing) holding stylus button while draw the selection on screen
- edit screenshots taken using your stylus and its specific SPen Image Editor
- open a QuickMenu on stylus button single press (like stock Samsung "Air Command" feature)
- choose up to 6 shortcuts on the QuickMenu
- choose up to 5 shortcuts to be shown in a Notification Shortcut bar
- switch keyboard when stylus is removed or inserted in its slot
- show cursor when stylus is near the screen
- choose a custom image as cursor (with also scale and offset to centre it)
- disable finger-touchscreen to avoid accidental hand-touch while drawing
- disable hardware keys (MENU and BACK) to avoid accidental hand-touch while drawing
- quick-double-press of stylus button executes a "BACK" action
- draw Gestures (holding stylus button while drawing on screen) to start Apps (or, in future, to take other actions)
- Lollipop 5.x support!!!!!
- choose a list of apps that keep the screen on when the stylus is removed
- turn on screen on stylus removal
- choose a list of apps that disable gestures and special stylus features (to use only specific app gestures)
- many graphic personalizations about menu, cursor and gesture
- IT NOT DRAINS BATTERY because no any poll is done at a specific interval

This option does not work on n7000, missing the sensor when removing and reconnecting the S-pen
Why do not post and ask help in my official thread? I just discovered this discussion about my App.
N7000 is not properly supported due to lack of attachment/detachment sensor. Other things should work but the experience is a bit different from what I've planned.

Thank you Panamera, I got my self a copy. Still trying to figure out all its features.
Because the official tread was closed, I must ask here.
I try this app, but without luck. My Spen not working at all. Only when I do factory reset or do a clean install it works for a 10 or 20 seconds and then stops. If anyone have a solution it would be much appreciated.

How to swap Back and Recents on OP7 Pro

Hard to believe the OnePlus 7 Pro doesn't seem to have this option (As I finally found it does - see below)
> Settings > Buttons & gestures > Navigation bar & gestures > Navigation bar customization > Swap Buttons
Backward buttons are bananas
Do you have "Navigation bar customization"?

How To Guide HOW TO: Change the order of 3-Button Navigation also works in Moto G Series and others

So for those of us that use 3-Button Navigation instead of Gestures, Motorola has kindly REMOVED the 3-Button Navigation Settings button that allows you to rearrange the order the buttons are in.. This guide shows you how to get to the hidden setting.
Works on Android 11 for sure.
Needed:
Download QuickShortcutMaker from the PlayStore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut
Once installed open and select the activities tab
Next click the 3 dot menu button at the top right and select search method and Normal Search.
Then search "3-Button"
You should return a search result under "settings"
Expand settings to reveal
Settings
3-button navigation
Select this and then touch try.
This will open up the settings menu to change the order of the 3-Button Navigation.
Cheers!
I will rewrite this guide when I get home for clarity and add pictures.
Hope this helps someone!
@Mrvaughn ,
You are the fricken man.
In the history of all my Motorola devices this has been a pain in my arse!
Your tutorial, even though its a short one is one of the best hidden gems I've come across.
Cheers pal, thanks for posting.
Mmm, I just tried this on my crappy Moto E6.
Code:
surfna:/ $ settings get secure sysui_nav_bar
space[0.25WC],back;home;recent,space[0.25WC]
surfna:/ $ settings put secure sysui_nav_bar 'space[1.5WC],back;home;recent,space[1.5WC]'
You can change order and/or spacing. Just play around.
@Renate ,
That's an awesome trick also! I'm going to play with it right now on my OnePlus 9 Pro to see if I can customize it there.
I wish there was list of settings put commands somewhere that explains what they do.
Do you know of a way to export all the ones the phone is capable of setting, or ones that are currently set?
Code:
$ settings list system
$ settings list secure
$ settings list global
Used this procedure on Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 running Android 12. Worked as advertised!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing the instructions.
Works on Moto Edge 30 with Android 12 as well.
Hint for other languages: Search for the written-out form of the number to find the setting. In German language it is "Drei" instead of number "3" ("Three" instead of "3").

This post was a Godsend! I just bought a Moto G Stylus 5G 2021 (model XT-2131-1), and the Nav buttons were indeed reversed. I spent HOURS trying to find a way to swap them that wouldn't require Root access or hacking into System files, and had just about resigned myself to having to unlearn 10 years of using Samsung phones with Recents-Left and Back-Right. Thank you x10,000 for posting this solution!

Downloaded and tried 10/19/22 on a Motorola Edge Plus 2022 and it worked perfect! Thanks!
Thankyou very much, Can confirm this worked. I made an account just to write this i was nearly going to sell this phone being a samsung user from the beginning of my mobile phone ownership. Cheers
I created an account just to say thanks and that it worked like a charm for me as well (after a few hours of searching)! Edge 30 Ultra.
My only feedback would be to clarify that `Then search "3-Button"` is for English system language and suggest to experiment if other language is used. It wasn't until I saw nouser1's German post that I was experimenting with Swedish combination and found it.
Again, thanks!
Thanks a lot OP! Worked on my Android 12 Motorolla
Works on the Moto Edge 30 Ultra Android v12.
You my friend, are a real hero.
I was so excited to find this post, but I can't seem to get it to work on a Motorola Razr 2020, Android 11. The search won't return with any results...
I'd love any feedback to make it work!
Thank you. And ***** Motorola.
Thanks Bro!
Thanks!!!
Works on Motorola G 5G running Android 12.
Thank you so much! It worked perfectly on my Moto G72 with Android 12
You can also later uninstall the app without any problem, if you want
