[Q] How do operators identify? - Other Tools & General Discussion

Hi all,
I got a general question for you regarding mobile operators.
Is there any other way than following, for mobile operators to identify a unique android cellphone:
a). SIM-card
b). IMEI-number
If any other possiblity to identify, what would this be?

T mobile settings for xda 11i

New to site - UK based - apology if this is a repeat question.
Does anyone know the settings required to enable my unlocked from o2 xda 11i, which uses a T- mobile sim, to be connected to the internet.
Have tried all I know (limited) but can't get the connection to work and the T mobile site is unhelpful as it doen't cater for Xda as it's not one of their standard phones.
Just need to be able to collect emails from hotmail - due to sd card error settings wiped out and unrestorable.
Would appreciate any help on this - thanks
do a search in networking forum for
"tmobile AND gprs"

HELP: RIL on jasjar

Please help me,
I want to develop an application will execute commands based on the operator cell ID or tower ID. it works on most PDAs (jamin, jasjam and HTC 3600) but not on my jasjar
i tried many to search the web about the RIL (RADIO INTERFACE LAYER) and with result of null.
any body knows how to enable it on Jasjar, i think its a software failure because the device should be notified with the change of operator cell.
help me please
regards,

[Q] Unencrypted GSM/GPRS Test Data?

Hello and good day,
At my school we are trying to do a field test of emergency communications using ad hoc networks. Basically I am asking if there is an engineering mode available that would allow for me to turn off A5/1 encryption (use A5/0 or A5/2) on any of the phones we have been given for testing so that they can be used with the other equipment that we have? Our equipment does not allow the "network" to disable encryption.
I'd greatly appreciate any help. We have:
Nokia 7610
Nokia E61i
HTC Startrek (Qtek 8500)
ETEN Glofiish X500
If we have a bad sample of phones, can you suggest any models that allow for this? My first goal is get it working for GSM/GPRS but then I am supposed to get it working for UMTS (W-CDMA) too.
Thank you and regards,
Eric
