Hi all i have rooted my tab2 and its working fine but does this mean my bootloader is unlocked? if not how can i find out if this is unlocked.
BTW Im using a 7inch wifi version p3110

Your boot loader should be unlocked, I do not believe any tab 2 devices were locked.

Bootloaders are not locked in Samsung devices as hTc and Sony, They just have a flash counter for flashing unofficial firmware, rooting, etc.
It can be reset in some Samsung devices using TriangleAway app by Chainfire.

This is not an entirely true statement. at and t and a few other carriers boot loader lock their tablets now. But the tab 2 is not one of them.

Well they are locked only as you say in Network Locked samsung devices

Thanks guys does this mean i can flash roms on this device now ?
Also a quick question, is flashing roms on tab 2 the same as a huawei phone like using CWM, wiping delvik cache etc.

Yes install cwm or your preference then install the ROM like other devices

There are some devices with a locked boot loader. The a t and t galaxy s4 does for example. However I don't think the note 2 does not. So u should be just fine using Mobile odin

whats the problem? did you do a md5sum check on the file to make sure its not corrupt? are you sure its for your variant only?
I checked and it's not corrupted. It is also for the i9100g variant only. But when i flash the rom, it always fails. When i flash,it appears 'error'.

So you already have your i9100G rooted with custom recovery?
What recovery are you using to attempt the 4.4 rom ?
You should always provide a bit more information when asking for help.
Phone model/version? Custom recovery name/version? etc.
Also what precise 4.4 rom + link are you trying to install?
does it just say error? or like Error 7, give us the entire log when you try to flash it.
Edit: now that I think of it, are you on the latest CWM? also what version of android are you coming from? if its gingerbread I don't think CWM will let you flash it because it knows it will brick your phone since your on gingerbread boot loaders. might have to flash a jelly bean rom first.
Phone model: Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100G
Custom recovery: CWM recovery 2.6.3.2
I'm coming from the android version of 4.1.2
I'm trying to install the Bam 2.0 rom.
When i flash , it says:
"Error 7
Installation aborted"

Rooting via phone

I've just purchased a nexus 5 and I'm rather inpatient to get cm11 flashed and I wanted to know if there's any new method of unlocking the boot loader without access to a PC ? Maybe with that new cm installer ? Anyone tried that method yet ?

no, you need a pc.

Guys, How to flash a working and tested CWM Recovery for GT-18262

How exactly do you do this since I don't know much outside just rooting my phone. I would want to know how to flash (using safest way available) a CWM Recovery without bricking my phone or my mom would kill me! I would want to flash custom roms and kernels here.

Do I need to have a unlocked bootloader for this? If so how exactly do you do it. Would it factory reset my phone?

Don't think you can flash any custom thing using your stock recovery
Anyway if you're rooted you can use apps like flashify/rashr etc.. But the safety of these apps I can't guarantee as I've gotten some posts that these kind of apps have led to softbricks in the past
So it means I can install custom rom using Flashify will be risky jeez. By the way can i flash CWM without need of pc and odin? My device is Samsung Galaxy Note 1 (SHV-E160S)

You can flash custom recovery by apps like flashify .make a backup/learn about how you can restore your phone beforehand just in case sh*t happens.
Can I flash custom recovery if the file is .tar?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA Free mobile app
Check out CWM rom manger that should be able to install cwm recovery.
When I check it out. Samsung Galaxy Note 1 (AT&T) only I did not see any other Samsung galaxy note 1 except AT&T version. Is it possible to install that? Even its not AT&T version?
