WORKING Lollipop Bookmark Sync Flashable - Android General

***I'm not sure if this is done properly, but it seemed right and felt natural, like childbirth.***
I have found that Google Bookmark sync is not included in the latest Gapps and that is because there is no official BookMarkSync for Lollipop.
But Behold! I have found a version that works in Lollipop so I made it flashable from recovery!
Just flash it after GApps and you will be able to accept it to sync when you start up your phone, or it can be done at any time on any Lollipop ROM. The reason I say Lollipop is because of the new folder structure. Just make sure to add the browser sync to your account sync settings and allow it access the first time you open your browser after this. You might also want to go back and check under accounts on the device if bookmark sync is actually synced.
You would still want to follow the normal flash procedure, wipe caches before, after, whatever your preference but I do it after flashing.
You may have to wipe your browser data after boot if you have already installed a rom and have been using it. I did not, wiping cache and dalvik cache seemed to be sufficient.
If this doesn't work for anyone please let me know, and let me know what errors or issues you get. I can try to fix it, but believe me, this dang thing took me forever to get right, so it should work. The folder structure threw me off as well as the permissions. But I finally got it right so I hope you enjoy. I know I missed having my Google Bookmarks.
I attached it as well as included a google drive link. ENJOY
Google Drive Link

for me it work perfectly on Captivate i897 LP5.1.0 OmniRom Lollipop.
Thank you :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

I have the Verizon G4 and the option to sync bookmarks is not present under the settings page where you specify to sync gmail, contacts, etc.

Can you make it work with marshmallow? I am getting "Sync is currently having problems. Will be back shortly."

ics cm9 nighly and google account

Right odd one here : story goes ive installed the new CM9 ics Nightly build for my nexus s and it installed all ok gapps work well sort of i cant log into my google account i can make a new one but not use my old one that has all my contacts and apps saved to it and emails and is set up right.
any idea why i can make new one and log in and do all but cant use my old one ive had years?
Hey.
Try to login through a PC to see if accound is active. If its ok, then probably its better to do a full backup and flash again the and then the latest release of the gapps for ics to see if that will work (if not just do a restore...) . by the way,do a clean install.
cheers.
If i helped u somehow hit thanks bt
Clean install?
When you flashed cm9 have you done a clean install, like clear cache 3 times, or any other thing to make sure that older system files weren't left?

Save Facebook Cell Numbers to Google account ... AOKP ???

Is there any way to transfer the numbers from my facebook contacts to my google account.

theres a fix lingering around thatll allow you to sync your FB contacts with Google. I might have it downloaded somewhere, lemme check real quick...
*edit* couldnt find the thread, but I found the file. here ya go!
1. clear cache and data from Facebook app, then remove your account
2. reboot into recovery, then mount /data
3. install the attached zip in recovery
4. reboot phone
5. sign in to Facebook again, and it should work
make sure you have your Google contacts synced before doing this

[Q] KatKiss 4.3.022 Problems

Hello:
I have just rooted my ASUS TF101 (using Frederuco's Excellent Guide) and added KatKiss. Everything seems to work OK but I am having trouble finding anything! I can't find a file manager and when I attempt to install a new one (or a different browser), the system comes back and tells me that they are already installed.
I am sure that this is simply my inexperience with this process but I would appreciate any advice or assistance available!
Thanks in advance.

Does your tablet have the words SAFE MODE on the screen? If so try rebooting and make sure neither of your volume buttons are stuck down.

No - the words SAFE MODE do not appear anywhere on the screen. I can change screens, the WiFi works, but the machine thinks I have programs that I installed on 4.0.3 but not on 4.3!
Thanks for answering!

Are you signed into your google account? I would assume so.
Did you factory reset before flashing KatKiss?
Are the apps listed in the Settings - Apps - All list?

Yes, I had to sign in.
Yes, I guess so - I followed the instructions on the xda page.
No, only one that I downloaded from another site and installed.
Should I start over, assuming the 101 is rooted per your excellent instructions (thanks, by the way!!), remove KitKass (I don't know how to do that - a link to instructions would be appreciated!), and reinstall it?
Thanks again for your help.
Sparky
What I would do is this:
Make sure you have the ROM and GAPPS on your microSD or internal storage somewhere.
Boot to recovery.
Wipe the following:
Cache
System
Davlik Cache
Data (this will only wipe the /data/ partition and not the /data/media/ aka /sdcard/). This is NOT FORMAT DATA. That will wipe the /sdcard.
Install the ROM, then GAPPS. Wipe cache & Davlik.
Reboot and set it up again.
Hello:
I did exactly as you suggested - at first the 101 acted exactly as before - but then, kinda all of a sudden, it began to work properly - I was able to go to where the .apk files were located and I can now install them! I think the main thing that I did this time that I didn't do the first time was to install GAPPS after KitKiss!
Perfect! I can't thank you enough!
Now, and the reason I rooted in the first place, I need to install Ubuntu. I need this in order to run Thunderbird, my e-mail client. You don't know of a site with a fool-proof method of doing this, do you? 'Cause a fool-proof method is what it will take!!
Again, thank you so much for all your help.
Sparky
Yeah, you have to install GAPPS after the ROM pr it can cause issues.
I hqve not attempted an Ubuntu install on this, but there are some threads in development about it.
Also, I use Kaiten Mail and it does all I want it to. Much better than the stock gmail and email apps.

Problem is that I need it to be both POP and on Tablet and Windows - I've looked at K-9 and it isn't POP.
But thanks for the tip - I'll try to let you know what I find with Ubuntu and if it works!
Sparky
Kaiten does POP last I checked.

Facebook not able to install, error -504

Hey guys and gals I've been fighting with this issue for a while and can't seem to find a way to fix it. I'm running the newest nightly for CM12 via safestrap and I've done a complete wipe and fresh install and I still can't install facebook. Tried clearing the data and cache from the google apps that were recommended via other threads.
This morning I did an entire wipe, installed stock, rooted, installed Facebook successfully, then installed Safestrap, made a new slot, installed CM, and facebook fails on install. Tried installing via Playstore as well as manually with the APK and both fail basically the same way though when doing the APK it doesn't give the 504 error.
So I'm hoping someone out there has another idea of something to try, in the interim I've been running Facebook lite, which works but notifications are unstable for me. It would be easier if I could run the normal app but it's been fighting me at every turn.
Thanks
Luke
Did you try pasting the .APK directly in /data/app and setting appropriate permissions?
Alright I figured I'd come back to this since I did end up finding a solution. I didn't try pasting the APK direct since I had read of some issues with guys doing that and having to wipe the device and I didn't want to have to do that. So I ended up using Titanium backup to backup the copy from the stock rom install that was working, and then restore it into the CM12 install and it worked. Wouldn't update via Play Store but it did work to get a functional install.
So if other guys find this thread down the road, this might be a way to make it work.
Take care!
Luke
I don't know why it wasn't working when you tried to install the apk, but sometimes happened to me something similar. I wasn't able to install any app from the PS, it always trow me an error, I don't remember the exact number, but if it wasn't 504, is really close. The only workaround was to delete my Google account and format data, and when it turned on I skipped the Google first startup wizard and went straight to the play store, and when it prompted to log on, I did and worked flawless. Glad to know that you already fixed it, but this workaround may help someone else

Google Backup and Restore not working (sultanmod 6.0)

Well, it's mainly the restore part that's not working.
I went from OmniRom to Sultanmod 5.1.1 no problems; all my apps and the homescreen layout auto restored. I went from Sultanmod 5.1.1 to Sultanmod 6.0.1 (full wipe, clean flash and open gapps 6.0 stock) and I cannot get the autorestore to start. I turn the phone on, choose the language, put in my google account and then nothing. It doesn't ask if I want to restore apps or anything.
I tried removing and readding my google account, reflashing again and reflashing with the super version of Open Gapps but it says system partition not enough memory. Anything I can try before I spend the next hour or two setting my phone up back to the way it was?

You should probably start by using the Advanced Features of open gapps, put CMSetupWizard in your gapps-config.txt (plus any other apps you want to remove) and do a clean flash and profit. It's been mentioned most likely in the Sultan thread so search there next time. At the restore part it'll show your apps just click next every time and when it offers the skip option, press it and profit

The Sultan thread was naturally the first place I looked and searched but the only results that came up were talking about titanium backup, which doesn't do homepage layout.
I didn't know there was advanced features for open gapps. Don't understand why removing CMSetupWizard would help but I'll give it a shot. Thanks
worked a treat. Phone is back to the way it was before minus some bloat from gapps that I didn't want. Thanks a lot!
