[Q] Can my generic tablet be rooted? - General Questions and Answers

Can my generic tablet (with no known bootloader, software version, or manufacturer info) be rooted, I have some info on it but I don't know if this is enough to try to figure out anything. I just want to unlock the root capabilities, that's it. I don't need any custom roms or anything, just a simple unlocking of it's root folders so I can run gamekiller and lucky patcher. Please help, or at least tell me if it can be rooted.

[Q] Unlock > stock image > Root?

Where can I find a stock image to recover my SNS to? All I can find are custom ROMs, but I like the stock image and want to keep it. Can I just unlock the bootloader and then root, or does unlocking the bootloader delete the image (I thought it only deleted data) and that's why I need to flash a new ROM? Is there a way to root without unlocking the bootloader? I've spent the last month reading countless guides on countless websites (here, lifehacker, androidforums, dottech, etc), but I'm soOo confused because every guide is different! Speaking of which, I need help finding the "n00biest" guide on how to unlock/root my SNS. Every guide either lacks details for a n00b like me or has multiple comments from people saying it didn't work. I also read that custom ROMs don't receive updates from Google; is this true? The ONLY reason I want to root is to use apps requiring root (Titanium Backup, AdAway, etc). I've already installed JDK, SDK, and USB drivers. HALP! Background info: I rooted my last phone, a Galaxy S (Captivate), with SuperOneClick, and it didn't change the image, so all this is new to me.

Does anyone have the time and patience to answer all my questions? The link to the stock images in the reply to my thread has UNrooted images, and the root guide has an ICS image.........

[Completed] I want to root the Samsung galaxy 5 SM-G900v. Will SuperUser.APK work?

I want to root with towel.apk but it will not work. I will have to change the MODLINKS (phone does not support message).
Phone: Samsung Galaxy 5 SM-G900V;
Android Version: 4.4.4 KitCat;
Kernal Version: 3.4.0 11/17 ([email protected] #1);
Build number: KTU84P.G900VVRU1ANK2
What SuperUser.apk version do I use? Will it work?
I am also wondering if this will set the KNOX flag which voids the warranty.
Thanks for the help
Su only gives you rights for a device that has root already, it won't root for you unfortunately.

application that roots

Hi guys!
I got a device Q7 android tv box. Few weeks ago I bought sd card, but it is useless at the moment.
I read forums and figured out that the only option, to make the sd card work for real is to root my device.
I tried towelroot, kingoroot, one click root, root master and none of them worked for my device.
Info about my device. It says on the box Q7.

I bought this phone (that according to some info I researched it's a Mediatek phone in other words its "chinese") that's called Sendtel Rocket and I saw that it was already rooted and I tried to change the Recovery Stock (But failed and now there's no Recovery, more like a bootloop recovery)
Now I have a lost recovery phone... It would be very helpful If I get more info about this phone. Here are some specs...

Rooting alcatel 1x (Not supported) 8.1 (Go Edition)

I've been trying to root my Alcatel 50330 1x
Every root tool I use fails and says unsupported.
I think Android Version is 8.1.0 (Go Edition)
I have the bootloader unlocked; but it doesn't seem it's compatible with root programs.
Build #: 7L1P UDP7
Kernal: 4.4.95
I don't know if it's doable but I bought this phone for work and need it rooted; now I'm not able to do it and I don't have receipt to take it back.
