Hello guys, I've got a weird problem. I messed around with my Transformer a bit, rooted etc on 8.4.4.11. CWM isn't working, and I can't even boot into recovery. It just sits at the "Loading recovery kernel...". Anyway, its freezing at the eeePad screen on bootup and doesn't do anything (this has stopped me from reflashing a blob, or Asus OTA updating). I've tried reflashing stock and rooted images quite a few times, but it always does the same thing. Now, I can get around the freeze by going to the hard reset screen and declining, and it boots into Android.
Whats wrong? Bootloader? Has to be something in startup, but I cant figure it out.
Re-flash using NVFlash method, in dev section (and don't forget to put the NVFlash ROM version in the folder)

Nope, that actually made it worse. Anyway, each root that I tried to go through did the exact same thing. Now it doesnt show anything on boot.
Is there some way to completely return it to stock? Just flash an official firmware pack with nvflash and have everything back to the day it was shipped?
EDIT: Fixed it, I had the wrong type of ROM unpacked. Thanks Bud.

How could it make it worse .... ?
What's the error you're getting while NVFlashing ?
For the stock, if you can't NVFlash a rom, you won't be able to flash stock too, as the process is identical
Okay, so here's a long story short. I flashed AT&T ICS leak #2 when I first got my replacement due to a brick. I ran SCV7 for a week or so and decided to try out CM10. I restored my backup of stock/rooted backup. Uninstalled highjacks, packages and app (bootmenu) itself. I then installed our OG A2 bootstrap, installed fine, installed CM10, played around with it for awhile. Realized I didnt reinstall the OG A2 Bootstrap so went ahead and did that. (without booting into recovery yet) I then later in the day decided to REBOOT my phone to only find me stuck on the CM10 boot animation. I battery pulled, plugged in to see if any recovery would show, none, just the battery charge percentage. I then battery pulled again, got into stock recovery, tried a data and cache wipe to no effect. My problem is, there is NO FXZ for the AT&T leak #2, I have no recovery besides stock and the only thing I can do is take my 32GB SD card out and add/delete files/everything. I saddly did not make a copy of the system.img but was wondering if anyone else possibly did? This would be greatly appreciated as I am stuck with a soft brick until then or a new FXZ to work with AT&T leak #2. Any suggestions or help is very much appreciated. Thanks all for reading and I'm praying for a miracle in my phone right about now lol!

Hey, and sort of welcome back...
But I hate to be the bearer of bad, bad news... you have a softbrick, and there is NOTHING you can do.
Next time, read everything in an OP... LOL, look who I am telling this to....
The CM10 installs come with their own CWM built in, and flashing bootstrap is what bootlooped you, so after you get another warranty replacement (yes, you HAVE to do this), I would install leak #1 ONLY, then flash cm10 with bootstrap, then do not reinstall any boot hijacks or CWM "like" recovery (bootmenu), because all you have to do it hit the vol down button right as you see the blue led flash during the M dual core logo.
Or enter the CM10 recovery menu and so on and so forth.
This is how I got out of a cm10 boot-loop.
I just restored from bootmenu backup via adb.

I will get with alteredlikeness and see if we can possibly think of something together on this one. The first thought would be to try an mearet/searet fxz for 2.3.6 since they can fxz back with out any mods to thier 2.3.6 or 2.3.5 fxz from thier ICS leaks, but I am thinking that will still brick you, but interested to see anyhow.
So I will see if alteredlikeness and I can think of some other way to try. He or I will PM you either way.

You know, I was seeing in recovery how youbcan flash an update through sd AND system which has a lost and found folder and recovery folder. Dont know if this is of any info but either way because I wouldnt know how to put anything in system since I cant seem to get adb to recognize or moto-fastboot...I'm in a very confused state of mind and almost came to the point of hard brick but I refuse. I'll leave it up to ya devs. Thanks againg everyone.

Just use the 2.3.6 FXZ through RSD lite. If you want good webtop then stay at 2.3.6, because webtop 3.0 is more like tablet mode and not ubuntu anymore.
Here is a link to get the 2.3.6 fxz:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/edison/InlineFlashing_edison_5.5.175.25_cfc_p3_APBP.xml.zip
All of the FXZ files are here:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/edison/list.php
If you really want to try ICS, then I would go for leak one from 2.3.6 just do not root or install anything while in 2.3.6.
Here are the instructions for that. Again though ICS does not have ubuntu for webtop, it is just android in tablet mode:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1779968
If you like the ubuntu webtop and want to stay on 2.3.6, my hack works really well for unlocking the full potential of ubuntu webtop, that is here:

What do you mean you replaced the boot image? please give me a link to the thread you go that from... that is quite disturbing.
What I need you to do is to flash the 2.3.6 fxz file with RSD lite, and watch each step and make sure you get a PASS at the end, if not you might be failing in one of the steps, I think there are like 18 steps or something in the AT&T FXZ. I really need to know which step it is failing on, it should be something like step 3/18 or something like that... I really need to know that or if it goes all the way to the end and say PASS.
If you can grab a screen shot of the error or PASS that might also help as well.

Yeah not the best idea. That ONLY should apply to NON-ATT phones, all you just did was put the 2.3.5 boot image on the 2.3.6 bad flash, you are still not whole. You may not be able to get this all right, after doing that, not easily at least... those instructions were out WAY before we had an official 2.3.6 FXZ, which is what you should be using.
I still need to know where RSD is failing, that is crucial to know what is happening.
From here on, if you want my help, DO NOT do anything unless I ask you to please!!! I am one the devs on this phone and our resident expert here. I am very meticulous, but I will get you back but you need to take this one step at a time, and do only what I ask and report back.

Yeah unfortunately you are screwed, sorry to say. The white LED means it is dead, no bringing it back. That is why I was trying to figure where things were going wrong, rather than having you risk further issues.
You might be able to find an atrix2 with a broken screen cheap on ebay and just put the good motherboard from that in your phone, and get yourself back up and running, I have seen them for 50-100 USD on ebay. There are instructions on how to replace the screen in the general section.

Hello, I am sorry if I am hijacking this thread but that is not my intention. I have a similar situation here that I need help with. I just bought a used Atrix 2 yesterday and I am unable to use that.
It is running the following:
Android Version: 2.3.5
System Version: 55.11.11.MB865.ATT.en.US
Build Number: 5.5.1-175_EDFFW1-11
It was in factory reset after mode so i followed the instruction to register with google and my gmail added. But when go to contacts, it keep rotating to open AT&T address book and never comes out of it. So I cannot use my google contacts and has to dial the numbers every time (sucks). Secondly, I called AT&T about the address book problem and was told that is not their problem and asked me to update the Android. I tried updating endlessly but the phone always says 'The software is upto date and no update is necessary!" really?
I called at&t again w/o much success. Then I called Motorola and was told that the phone is running a strange unofficial (really, again?) android version that they cannot help either.
I did confirm the phone is not rooted.
Now, I have a beautiful looking phone that i cannot use. I am not familiar with rooting and all sorta things and can you please help me so i can use this phone?
Thanks a ton.

Hey yall,
Quick synopsis I bricked this phone in about December or January and now my other phone broke so I'm going to try and get this one fixed. It automatically boots to the fastboot screen, everytime it powers on. Even after running out of battery, thats where its stuck at when it powers back on. I don't know how to move between stock recovery menus with the phone buttons... but thats another issue.
I see a lot of posts and files for TWRP when unbricking a phone but they dont seem to be compatible with CWM which I prefer. Is TWRP better? Is it easier to unbrick a phone using TWRP with fastboot?
If it will boot into fastoot can the Sprint store unbrick it with their repair service? I really dont have the time to buckle down and do this. I wish there was a sticky or handy guide for unbricking this phone.
One of the first things I have to do is unlock it from Motorola while it is bricked somehow in the debug menus. Not looking forward to all this.
Any pointers or file / thread links to assist will be greatly appreciated.
EDIT - Can someone move this to the right section, sorry I always do this on accident. TOTAL noob

Thanks for the reply. I tried using RSD Lite last night and right after starting the flash I got an error message that something failed. Will the flash automatically fail if the device has a low battery? My fastboot was showing low battery at the time of flash. Also maybe it failed becuase I had the wrong version? Do we need to use a specific version or will any version work? Thanks in advance.
Did you edit the xml file you have to remove some lines
Sent from my XT897 using Tapatalk 2
Ive deleted the 2 XML lines about "getvar". It all may have been due to low battery. But unbricking with RSD lite seems way too easy. You just boot into fastboot, turn on RSD lite, flash the firmware, and thats it? 3 easy steps? Fixing to give it another shot here in about an hour.
Hey yall it must have been the low battery that failed it. I cant believe how easy it is to unbrick with RSD lite. Why can't we flash custom roms with RSD lite?
We can, but why bother with custom interfaces when it's not needed?
I mean can we flash somethimg like CM using RSD lite?
No, I didn't make the image for RSD lite (and won't be making it). Aftermarket firmwares are flashed from recovery, not via RSD lite ( = fastboot).
1) Was on stock 4.04 ICS
2) Rooted the phone
3) Installed Bootstrap recovery
4) SOFTBRICKED by trying to install a Kitkat based rom (Liquid kitkat ) using recovery.
5) So apparently Liquid Kitkat rom was installed..........and was SOFT BRICKED
Got Motorola logo then blank screen
6) RSDLITE failed to flash FXZ Gingerbread InlineFlashing_edison_5.5.175.16_cfc_p3_APBP_CID285.zip
This part failed on the reboot (I understand now this was a no no)
QUESTION: Would FXZ 4.04 ICS have been fine for fixing this with RSDLITE?
........ Now nothing will come up...will not turn on.........
no button routines will turn this on.......
the only light that will turn on is the white let when the battery is removed and plugged into pc.
So is this pretty much hard bricked without a way to DIY fix it?
Thanks.
Try the following link to recover your device
Hi,
Refer this link by which you can get your device back to working....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36834775&postcount=108
It needs FXZ file to be flashed to ics again. Then root and enjoy custom roms.....
As per my very little knowledge it is safe to use boot menu manager (BBM) then Atrix Boot strap.....
Please let me know if the above think works for you... It worked for me .....

Since I installled Liquid Kitkat CM11-based.......(which softbricked me after trying to boot that )................would the ICS version of FXZ worked properly?
In other words, did I need to use a kit-kat based FXZ to recover from softbrick with RSDLITE?..........or just ICS?
Thanks

There's no official Jelly Bean for our device, let alone KitKat and hence none of the respective FXZs. So, yes, you should have flashed ICS FXZ in order to recover from the soft-brick.

Won't work. ...... my problem is the phone won't turn on.......cannot currently enter fastboot or any boot option..........hence possibly "hard-bricked".
Thanks anyways.

Have you tried the method in the link given.....?? Even my phone was not booting at all... When I switch on there was no changes seen on the screen.... But it was getting recognized in PC as USB device connected.... I was able to run the bat file mentioned in the link and to my surprise it was recovered..... By the way how you concluded that it is a hard brik....

You might be having International version of Atrix 2 or you might be on ICS Leak or GB, and hence you could recover your phone.
Downgrading an AT&T Atrix 2 from ICS to GB is 100% hard brick. Read around and you will get information on more such cases.
You had 2 mistakes:
1/ Use Bootstrap recovery instead of BMM to flash kexec ROMs
2/ Flash GB instead of ICS when the phone (AT&T) has already been on ICS (deadly mistake)
Hi. hard brickIn this way the device is to survive
Issue Solved??
Did your problem solved? If not you could give it a try the method I told you..... Mine is an international version... I downloaded FXZ for retail asian.... My phone was not at all showing anything when I click power button..... So if you tried all options you can give it a try...

You are not hard bricked. Your battery is very low hense the white led. You will have to straight wire the battery. Red+ Black- i brought mine back like this. Make sure u are using the correct fxz to.
