Has anyone seen this new case by Zenus? I love that they have integrated a clear hard plastic covering the edge for protection, but I wish the inside of case had a slot for some cash...then it would be perfect for me. I guess I've been spoiled by the wallet style case I had by Zenus for my old Note 2. Check it out...
Man...since I'm new here, I can't post a link. Sorry... go to zenus case . Net and look under note edge cases.

the case costs more than the samsung cover but does not say if it utilizes the magnet to cut the display off. that is the key. if not then you pay more and loose that functionality.

I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered it because I've been so afraid of dropping the phone. The pictures show coverage around the top, bottom, and sides of the phone, and that hard plastic part around the edge with the slit inside it so you can still use the edge sold me on it.
I'll see about the magnet when it gets here. It will be a couple of weeks since its coming from Asia.

Great. I agree that the plastic edge is a good protection.
Let us know 3 things when you get it.
1. Show some pics from the top and bottom view, I would like to see a bit better how much this case adds thickness to the device.
2. As others have mentioned, let us know about any magnetic closure features.
3. I am concerned about the on/off button being pressed accidently while in my pocket, carrying bag etc... There is no indentation on the front cover where the on/off button will press on, as with the Samsung case. Also, does the 1mm leather card slot protect it from doing this, and/or does it press on the screen affecting in any negative way?
These are some of my concerns, but the case does look promising.
Also a cheaper option (synthetic leather & possible metallic materials) but same design concept by Zenus.

I am seriously considering getting this device next week.

Got my Zenus case today. No magnet. The plastic bar along the edge is also flimsy. Not sure if it was meant to be that way, but it bends inward very easily.
Maybe making the thin plastic bar metal would have been nicer. Although I could see metal possibly scratching the curved screen...
The rest of the case is great and fits perfectly.

Can you post pics pls
The case finally came today after ordering it 2 weeks ago. I'm not too sure how I like it yet. I do like that the sides and the top are completely protected by the rubber inside of the case. As the poster before me said, the clear plastic over the edge is flimsy. It's a flexible plastic, instead of hard plastic and there no magnet. I snapped a few pics with my husband's iPhone 6 plus. So if the quality is bad, blame it on his phone! Check out the pics and tell me what yall think.
I've decided to post a few more pics and give my final verdict on this case. I originally had the original Samsung flip case, and I've realized that you lose the functionality that you have with that case, but you gain protection with the zenus.
Here are a few cons...
1. When calls come in, they don't appear in the edge as they do with the Samsung case . You have to open the case to see who's calling. (I had gotten used to seeing who was calling from the edge and answering or rejecting the calls from there.)
2. Although the slit is present on the clear plastic over the edge, it's hard to swipe through the different panels.
3. The case adds quite a bit of weight the phone.
4. There is no magnet, so when you close cover, the main screens runs over onto the exposed clear part of the case. ( I've been accustomed to the personal message appearing when the cover is closed. )
5. The clear plastic is very flimsy.
Pros...
1. Protection
2. Kick stand for watching movies
I have decided to forfeit protection and go back to the original Samsung flip case.

Does it make the phone significantly thicker? is there a way for you to do a side by side comparison with the phone with a case and without a case?

Very similar views here. Just a couple of points to add as workarounds. I notice the Samsung case has a chip like thing on the back which may make the difference.
1. You do get the call on the panel if you are already in another app. Not if you are on homescreen or the cover is closed.
2. The alarm clock functionality that the Samsung case has is also lost. In the Samsung, the alarm rings on the panel, and can be turned off or snoozed from the edge, which is nice. Any other case, you have to open the cover as usual. Also you lose the clock animation when opening and closing the case.
3. The workaround to having the screen turn on automatically is to use the app Auto Screen on off. Works very well. Has the added advantage of being able to screen on again without pressing the home button by just waving over the proximity sensor.
4. The case is much thicker and adds size and weight. I personally liked this as I have large hands, and also found it easier for two thumb typing.
5. Protection, as mentioned by the earlier poster, is far better. The plastic seems
flimsy but adequate to protect the edge.
So quite a few things can be worked around. Basically a personal call. In my case, after doing all the above, I've still gone back to the original samsung for the functionality ☺

So I picked up this case at a Verizon store this afternoon. I paid 39.99 minus 25% as I get that discount through my work. I have to say, this case is VERY nice. Adds very minimal bulk and if it works like advertised, should add decent protection. Here are some of my observations:
-The camera is recessed enough that if you lay the phone down on its back, it will not scratch the lens
-The buttons functions very well. Meaning they have good response and feedback through the case
-All of the ports and holes line up perfectly. The mic hole on the left is slightly bigger (oval shape, sort of) so this fits the Verizon version as well. That is the version I have.
-The hole around the camera/flash/pulse meter is plenty large so it will not interfere with the pulse meter function thing
-Not at all a lint magnet. The opposite as a matter of fact
-Does show fingerprints but not a huge fingerprint magnet
-IMHO, has the perfect amount of grip. Slides in and out my pocket nicely
-Edges are raised (I would say 1mm) so if you lay it down screen side down, the screen will not scratch (not sure how it will work with a screen protector though. I don't have one installed so I don't care.)
This one will definitely be a keeper. I also have the OEM S-View case and like it a lot, too.
Hope this helps if you are thinking of getting one.

I'd be happy to add them. How do you add them? I don't see "attach pic" button or anything. Maybe a dumb question. Is it the attach file button?
Depends on app, not dumb at all. Here's how you do via tapatalk.
POSTCEPTION
OK, I think I managed to get pics attached. See my OP. I am definitely not a photographer.
It's a very nice case. They had them in store when I went looking for a case for my phone, but opted to go with the original Samsung case instead.
I have one, very slim, nice feel, not sure about the orange inserts protecting against drops though.
Mine was $34 in store, I couldnt take my spigen tough armor any longer.
The heart rate monitor works (my tough armor didn't work, other had better luck). It fits with tempered glass screen protectors.
Its a tad hard to get off though, to change the battery out
Did they have the clear version?
No love for the Tech 21 case.
I have had a tech21 case for just about every phone both myself and my wife have had. Both of us are kind of clumbsy and we have never had a ding, or crack, or broken phone. Those little orange strips really work! Twice I even accidentally threw my phone and it went skipping on pavement about 15 feet (I was running while holding the phone and it hit my knee and went flying). Not a single scratch to the phone, although there were some good ones on the case. I'm waiting for the case to go to amazon at a much cheaper price since I don't get 25% off
Tech21 Classic Tactical
I have the same case, but in all black, so the orange strips don't show. Really snug fit. Waiting for my tempered glass screen to come. Will report if case interferes with screen protector. Does anyone else have a Tech21 case with wireless charging hooked up? Does it work thru this case?
Hi Guys,
Just want to post a review regarding a Full Protective Casing for our beloved Note 4. I got this casing through some seller. Not phone shops. Since I'm from Singapore, these kind of rugged and full protective cases are not available unless by ordering them through official website or Amazon.
Was surprised that there was a seller who's selling this here. Since it's a case that I've been aiming for, I decided to grab it rightaway.
The case itself is divided into 2 parts. The rubber and the hard plastic holding the screen protector. Putting it all together was quite snappy. I can say it's not too bulky or too small. Just nice.
Opening it up, it's nicely pack into a compact box. Also there'a a plastic covering the front and inside of the screen protector. No defects. I don't use the holster since it will be troublesome for me. Moving on.
Here is the link to the official site:

Here comes the review!!
The Pro's:
All ports covered. Including the S-Pen.
Only protector for screen. None on LED, Sensor, Front Speaker, Front Camera and Back Camera.
It's quite light if without holster.
Smooth and easy if kept in pocket. Not gonna be stuck like some cases if u try to keep and remove in n out from your pocket.
Volume, Power Button casing design is align well.
The Con's:
Fingerprint Scanning will be abit difficult as the case actually interfere with the button.
The port covers will be out of shape if continuously opened up.
Due to the smoothness of the case, it might just slip from your hands.
That are the ones that I noticed for now.
I attached 2 pics, front and back. Sorry for the lack of details and pics as I'm currently at work. LOL! Hope my review help for those who are looking to buy this case.

I have a skinomi carbon fiber skin along the sides of my N4 and this case tore apart the skin on the side that I used to snap into the top piece of this case; as such, I believe it would be safe to assume that this case could scratch your phones metal edges. This case (for myself at least) was an extremely tight fit. As I have said in my supcase thread, this case is a really tight fit - if not too small.
I cannot say if the case will work with wireless charging, but I can assure you that your otterbox is much, much better than this supcase.
Super-thanks @JippleStar
I had installed Skinomi's Techskin last night on my Note 4 and the Otterbox Defender Series case did not accept my phone; was too resistant, and so I thought that I should stick with the Commuter for now without the Wireless Back Cover. I'll keep the Defender for back up and / or when I'm outdoors.

Its too bad the Skinomi Techskin does not include protection to the Chamfered edges. Neither do the other skins on the market. Bummer.

NP :good: I was very disappointed with this case and would never want anyone to go through that whole buy and return process, ya know? :silly:
I've never had so much trouble finding a case - or any other accessory though. I guess that's one of the downsides of having an extra large phone  & yeah, I would definitely keep the defender for days when you need that water-proof protection :good:
Microscratches on the Note 4's metal chamfered edges are unavoidable, even when applying the Otterbox cases, sad, but true. However, the way these phones were packaged, every Note 4 sold as new in its sealed box, has one or two scratches somewhere; I know this especially after unboxing close to a dozen Note 4's. First gapgate, then this. Lol.
Have to find a case once and for all, other-wise, we are only making our devices more susceptible.
Any solution for metal chamfered edges? I e-mailed Skinomi regarding this, and this was their response
"Hello,
Thank you for your email, and for your feedback. Unfortunately the item has been designed off the actual device here at the facility for the best results. However I will be more than glad to send your feedback to our design team.

I second that. Lol! I'm just too tired to think about the metal edges of this beast. It's bound to be scratch sooner or later. Do not care about it that much. Care about the other surroundings instead.
I'm already thinking about the Note 5. Will be the first in line when that comes out.

Well it happens to every rugged case. Especially if u have keys or coins in ur bag or pocket that u put your phone with. Same goes if u do not have a casing or cover for your phone. There will be scratches too.

I too have the same Unicorn Beetle case- cheap alternative for Overpriced Defender ( otterbox )..but fingerprint scanning is difficult due to front of case jutting out, so your finger doesnt get a flat
area to run across. Holster is decent- but somewhat stiff. but for 20.00... 1/3 the price, I'm happy. Phone is protected.. until a better option comes around...with a holster.

I learnt a trick. U redo ur fingerprint scanning with the case on. U can do in any position and ways as long u do slow and steady. U'll find that it works better with the casing on rather than naked. For my N4, i just have to scan the top of my thumb and otz unlocked. Give a try. Just scan follow the flow of the casing design. From top till the casing.
I received this case for review and have to say that I am impressed. I did not take any photos of the packaging but it was done very nicely. I have never owned a "folio" style case before but carry a minimalist wallet and thought I might be able to get rid of that also. It easily carried my ID and a few credit cards. I love being able to use the case as a stand while eating lunch and such. The two tone look of the leather and the stitching is really nice. All of the cutouts match up and it protects the lens on the camera.
I wish that the inner case that holds the phone were clear to keep the look of my phone instead of hiding it. Also while using as a stand the magnetic flap keeps folding back in front of my phone instead of staying back. The only other downside to me is the fake chrome strap on the front. I really like the logos embossed in the leather and that bar is just a bit tacky for me. It also broke a little at the bottom when i put it in my pocket.
Overall I really like the case. I have been using it about a week and am happy with it overall. Wish it showed off the phone more but other than that it is great. I think I will stick with this case a while.
You can get the case at http://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-roocase...se+s6+Prestige
I'll try to update this later. Probably going to try to remove the chrome bar.

Hi sirooga,
Thanks for your review and we're glad you are enjoying the Prestige Folio case! Are you able to provide a picture of the bar that seems to be experiencing an issue? I'd like to look further into this and do some additional stress testing to see we can replicate the issue.
Thanks in advance!
J. Armstrong
If you zoom in on my first picture and look at the chrome where it says Roocase you can see what I an talking about. Thanks.
I also received the roocase prestige folio case for the s6. I felt that the packaging was really well done. My favorite part about the packaging was the foldable section in front of the plastic that surrounded the case. The cade was very easy to install and it did not take long for me to get used to this case. Like many other reviewers, this was my first folio case. Like the op, I also have a thin wallet, and I was hoping that I could use a folio case to get rid of my wallet. I was unable to use this case as my wallet, since there were only 3 card slots. But, I was able to use the card slots for other things. I used one slot to keep my college ID in, as I need it often to unlock doors and get around campus. I also had a credit card and my drivers license in there. All of these cards fit without a problem. The length of the case prevents putting cash bills in the case, unless you fold them. Even after putting 3 cards and some cash, the case was not much thicker than it was with just the phone in it. I like how well the stand function works on this case, and after some use, the magnetic flap doesn't obscure the phone screen anymore. I also like how roocase gave a cutout for the speaker and the notification light at the top, so that you can see the Notification led even when the flap is closed. The cade also seems durable and may withstand some beating, due to the quality of the leather. Even though this is a folio case, it isn't as thick as I would expect it to be. The only problem that I've encountered is that the phone/case become very warm when I am quick charging my phone. I haven't had this problem with any of my other cases, so it was an interesting observation.
You can buy this case from this link:
http://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-roocas...436383531&sr=8-2&keywords=roocase+s6+prestige
I would give this case 4.5/5 stars and I would recommend this case to anyone who is in the market for a folio case.
In my pictures, I used an HTC One M7 for a scale for size, and to show how the case functions as a phone stand.
Oh, your cellphone really need this case:good:
I order the Spigne Thin Fit (https://www.spigen.com/collections/...axy-s8-plus-case-thin-fit?variant=32442581121) for my Galaxy S8 Plus and have had it since day one. I take it off mostly to use the Gear VR and have noticed that scratches have started to appear on the back (where not part of the Gear VR touches it) and on the side. Can't help but be a little disappointed that it is scratching given some of the reviews that imply otherwise (Scratch Resistance: Better Than the S7 => http://www.consumerreports.org/smartphones/samsung-galaxy-s8-first-test-results). I'm curios if others have noticed the same thing. My best guess is that particles get in between the case and the back which results in a scratch when removing the case perhaps. I am very meticulous when it comes to handling the phone but at times I would be better off if I just didn't care so much. I suspect others here feel the same
I always leave the clear protector on the back (that comes from the factory) and then just pop the case over it. It helps me feel like I'm protecting the phone lol, even though the plastic is ugly. I hardly ever see it since the case is there so it doesn't bother me.

I am very meticulous when it comes to handling the phone but at times I would be better off if I just didn't care so much. I suspect others here feel the same

I do not have the same results.... I hardly have a case on my phone, but the back is still flawless. I did by an elago case which I love and is SUPER slim. You may have had a piece of sand or something from your pocket that got in the case. Its happened to me in the past.

I had a flip case on temporarily while i was waiting for my main case (no stores in town had ANY cases for S8+ because i got it 7 days before launch) . Its the ones with Visa card insert inside which slide in sideways, not the top. The Visa card would rub against the screen. So no i have rub-scratches right on the bend of the lcd.. Sucks.
This case: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eljgjhzqdch6w8c/20170526_212121.jpg?dl=0
NOT recommended..

Yeah you're better off having no case at all over some of those flip covers. They're notorious for scuffs and scratches.
What's the big deal as you don't see the back with a case.

Just means the value if you sell it goes down.
I tend to buy a skin for mine so it's got a little more protection.

My Samsung flip cover on my S7 Edge was horribly efficient at causing screen microscratches. Anything from my pocket could get between the inner cover and the screen.
Got an Otterbox Strada for my S8+ and it's excellent. It has a magnetic lock for the cover, a well protected card pocket and the flip cover lining is microfiber. Not a mark on the screen so far?
The back will definitely scratch even with a case on. Ordered a dbrand skin to cover mine and will still be kept in a case.
If you're looking for a good back cover that works well and won't scratch the back of your phone I highly reccomend the Samsung Alcantara phone case. Its extremely tight on the phone and hasn't let anything slip through to the back, at least in my experience. Obviously there's no front protection so you'll want a screen protector if you're looking for front + back protection. I didn't even use a case before now though so I'm happy with the protection of the case alone.
I see a lot of the cases don't actually offer any hinge protection and if you drop the phone right on the edge with the hinge, something might break.
I am looking to see what cases with hinge protection are available. So far I have only found 1 : Spiegen Tough, but it is bulky, personally I am looking for something more minimalistic.
Are there any other options?
I have preordered the UAG Civilian Series Case. But I guess it’s also pretty bulky
I've found this one. Will be giving it a go when I get mine in a couple of weeks - https://www.mobilefun.co.uk/araree-nukin-360-samsung-galaxy-z-flip-3-case-crystal-clear-85997
What i found so far:
Spigen Tough Armor
UAG Civilian
VRS Active
Araree Aero Flex
Araree Nukin 360
Goospery ZFLP3
Mercury Fard (same as Goospery)
I returned Tough Armor as i find it's too bulky for me... will give Araree and Goospery a try
I want something like the araree aeroflex but clear!

Samsung make clear case with ring. I’ll be getting for free with my preordered Zflip 3, but I opted for VRS case.

I ordered one in the first place, too. But its a pain to plug the loose parts and phone together and it gives minor hinge protection as the strip is way too narrow and the ring can touch or scratch the hinge in your pocket as well in some angles...
btw. meanwhile i got the Goospery/Mercury Case here, it's nice looking and feeling but sits very loose (i don't use the adhesive tape at first) so that the top part of the case detaches from the phone when flipping open, very annoying :/ my hopes are for the araree aero flex now, should get it delivered these days...
I've ordered the araree aeroflex. Will report back when it arrives in a week or two.
I got my Araree aero flex today and i'm in love... perfect fit, perfect feeling BUT there is one big problem: when the phone is fully closed and i open it the hinge protection doesnt slide properly inside the lower case. It needs a little push with the finger. I improved it by putting a little Tesa on the inside of the lower case (above the factory sticker which should NOT be removed) and now it slides better but not everytime...
Whatever you do, stay away from that Samsung clear case with the ring. First case in my life that I had to read the user guide and search YouTube on how to install on phone.
Two pieces of plastic, that hold the ring, has to fit perfectly between the case and the phone. If they are not align properly, the case will not fit the phone. And it's almost impossible to align that s**t. It has no adhesive to keep it in place.
Went with the Spigen Tough Armor case myself and yeah like someone else said, it's definitely bulky (thick as a pack of cigarettes when closed) but it looks like it will offer very good protection, and I work in the construction industry so I'll take all the protection I can get.
Just noticed another Flip 3 case with hinge protection on Etsy, I dont know nothing about the seller (always bought the wallet cases from the seller "Hand & Hide" from USA on there for my slab phones) but these from the seller "Andantannerie" (from South Korea) look interesting, although $115 is a bit expensive, if they're actually full grain leather they just might possibly be worth it (but upon closer inspection of the pics they look like they might be made from a very thin layer of leather over a plastic shell though)......... https://www.etsy.com/listing/1060335374/premium-leather-galaxy-z-flip-3-case-3?ref=shop_home_recs_1&crt=1&variation0=2201540456
UPDATE: No doubt about it the leather is paper thin, sent the seller an email asking about it and he replied it was 2.5 to 3.5mm thick (about a tenth of an inch) and I replied as to whether that was the thickness of the entire case itself or the leather covering on it, in turn he sent me a photo of him measuring it and he was measuring the thickness of the entire case. Got to give him credit the cases do look nice on his product pics though, but not no where near a $115 nice.......

Ordered the same one. Wasn't sure about the adhesive, but after 5 different installations (trying various cover screen protectors), it still holds without any of the wiggle or creaking you get on an Otterbox that clips together. It isn't the most amazing hinge protection, but its enough. The case feels less bulky the more I use it and definitely makes the phone feel more sturdy.
I bought an Araree AERO Flex for my Flip 3 and it works fine. It was available on Amazon but became unavailable shortly after I got mine. It is not bulky and has hinge protection. Feels good in hand too. This case does not require any adhesive tape or pad. It just snaps onto the phone securely.
Just check Amazon from time to time and it could be available again. Maybe it is out of stock due to popularity.
I have the same araree case. Great case, no bulk, feels nice in the hand, smudge free. Definitely recommend it.

does your aeroflex cases flip open smoothly when fully closed or do you have to give the hinge protection a little push?
It does now. On the first night I got it, I did have to place my finger over the hinge protection a couple of times to help push it down. But it seems to have sorted itself out now.
I did take it off and put it back on on the 2nd day, so maybe it wasn't sat properly the first time I put it on?
When it was new, the hinge cover did not slide into the slot smoothly. It even pushed the bottom case down when I opened the phone from the closed position. It was not a big deal as I could easily push up the bottom half of the case back up. I took the case off the phone and examined it but found nothing out of the ordinary. After I reinstalled the case, it never happen again. After some use, the hinge cover is sliding back into the case fine. However, if I open the phone rapidly, the hinge cover would bulge out and then snap back into the case. Never, did require me to push on it to help it to slide back. A new car would require some run-in period for its engine. I expect this hinge cover should soften up and loosen up after some more use.
