I was looking for Samsung Galaxy S3 to use on Straight Talk. It was for the nice lady who works the phones out my place of employment.
I found a great deal on craigslist, US Cellular Samsung Galaxy S3 (SCH-530R) I check the ESN, its not stolen.
I use the Straight Talk BYOP Finder tool to check compatibility. It tells me as what I learn later to be a "generic CDMA message" that it spits out for every CDMA ESN saying it will work with a network access code
The phone is not compatible they say, they don't care their tool didn't even get me some McDonalds before it ****ed me.
What can I do with this phone? US Cellular is more expensive than most plans around here at least and there is no US Cellular store within 100 miles.
Thank you for any time you spend here, you're all given a limited amount of time on this earth and you're spending some of it helping a stranger with a phone problem. Thank you. Happy Newyears!
Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your issue that has a solution. If your phone supports the radio bands on straight talk, it should be possible. Not sure if you need to sim unlock the device also.
Best to ask for help in this dedicated help thread in your device section,
> Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 > Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [HELP THREAD] Galaxy S3 Ask any question
Good luck!

hi i'm a new one on this forum and i wont your help please
i have a Samsung galaxy S3 sprint i bought on ebay and this model of GS3 doesn't has GSM Sim Card slot.
i'm looking for motherboard that it has sim card slot and i wont to change the motherboard using all part of GS3 Sprint.
So Effectively you want to gut the phone and use just the body to transplant into a GSM Phone. The motherboard of ATT SGH-I747, (ATT GS3) is available on Ebay as well. But you have to understand a large part of the money you paid for this phone was to wards the motherboard you don't want. Also even if you did buy a motherboard from Ebay or elsewhere, there's no guarantee that IT'S IMEI is not blocked.
Either way, please post in Sprint Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
or post in AT&T Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting so that the right experts may be of help.
Hi there! I'm moving back to India tomorrow after a few years in the US and I'm interested in getting my off-contract Verizon Galaxy Nexus and Sprint Galaxy S3 working in Delhi/NCR. I realize neither will work on a GSM network as the VZW is the I515.9 baseband and the Sprint one lacks a SIM slot, but can I get them running on a local CDMA carrier like MTS or *shudder* Reliance?
I've done some digging online and in here, but I can't seem to find anything about getting either device working on a CDMA network in India other than warnings that some carriers may not activate them if they aren't on their own "approved devices list". Any help with where I should post is greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much for your help and happy new year!
Hi,
Since you are asking about multiple devices, I suggest you try asking here first,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
If that doesn't help, you could ask for help in the individual device sections...
> Samsung Galaxy Nexus > Galaxy Nexus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
> Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III > Sprint Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
So my issue with my phone is extremely complicated. I had an account with ATT last year but I canceled my plan with them after my ex broke my phone which caused me to get a new phone and they charged me way more than they said. So just recently I went to get the screen fixed. Now that its fixed, I have forgot what the pin is. Here is where it gets tricky. My phone is not linked to findmymobile nor is it linked to my google AND USB debugging is not on the phone. I really dont want to do a hard reset because I need the messages for court issues with custody/divorce. IF I have to do a hard reset, is there a way to obtain all my lost data? incudling apps because I had to use SMS Backup to move my messages on here because my phone slowed down from so many messages.

Hello, my wife has a Samsung S4 mini GT-19195 from France.
I purchased a wireless prepaid micro sim card 3GB plan data communications only, from Yodobashi Camera Store in Osaka, Japan
I believe to have entered the correct settings but I can’t seem to connect.
I have inserted that same card into my Samsung note 2 and I can easily connect for data.
My questions are:
- Would anybody know if the Samsung S4 mini specs are compatible with Japan?
- I purchased and registered both sim cards under the same credit card name.
Would that be conflicting?
I am not very knowledgeable for techs things I’d really appreciate to be pointed in the right direction in search for answer
Thanks!
Hi there,
You'd be best served asking for help from the experts who own your device, here:

So I posted in the Sprint Galaxy S4 section. The reason for this was I am familiar with the S4 on Verizon and thought maybe I would got to Swappa.com
and get a Sprint S4 if Sprint looked like it might work. I would however like to ask people in general about Sprint with any phone that they have.
I basically want to know the same questions about any phone possibility with Sprint.
So I will in quotes show you what I posted in the S4 area of Sprint on XDA. Any help would be MOST appreciated.
("Hello to all in this Forum.
I am starting here because I have a Galaxy S4 with Verizon and it has served me well for years and does everything I need.... so why look elsewhere.
It also seems that there is still alot of good development for the S4 here with yall on Sprint.
The reason for leaving Verizon is that to keep my Unlimited Data for two phones my bill is close to $270.00 dollars a month.
We just cant keep doing that any more.
SOOO What I am trying to find out is with Sprint is:
*Is the service good number one?
*Can you easily get TWRP on any phone ( which is best) is the S4 a good contender?
*Can you get a WiFi hotspot easily?
*If you can get a WiFi hotspot how many GigaBytes before they Throttle, how bad is the Throttling?
I use well over 100 Gb of data a month per line with Verizon..... Will Sprint poo poo a brick and shut me down if I do that with them?
We live in the country and the Verizon phone is our only source of Internet. We broadcast our Hotspot and do Netflix, and Amazon Prime as this is our only source of TV.
I looked on a map recently, It shows in my area the best coverage for 4G LTE. The LTE plus is not bad either.... although I dont know what phone uses LTE plus.
Any help or thoughts on this would be SOOOO much appreciated. This would be a huge and scary jump for us because once you lose Unlimited with Verizon... you'll never get it back, and right now they work and do everything very well...... We just pay through the Nose for it.
Thank you!!")
