Play store help! - General Questions and Answers

Hi I need a help with installing modded Google play store on my phone. I've rooted my phone and have been using lucky patcher so I'm familiar with it. I just now came to know about modded play store and its uses. So I decided to install it and did some research. So I first made a 'patch to android' from the toolbox of lucky patcher and the phone rebooted and all. Then when I tried to install the downloaded play store apk it says Application not installed. I just followed every instruction given in that site. Can someone please explain what I did wrong? Or did I miss any step? Thanks in advance.

We don't discuss that sort of thing here at XDA.

As a developer site we condem all warez apps. As so lucky patcher and freedom are banned and asking for help with them will get you banned as well. Thread closed

Is it possible to install Play Store on a non approved phone

I have a phone, Thl W1 ICS that does not have Play Store installed. Is it possible to install Play Store. I have been trying for a week and the closest I can get is a Server Error screen. If it's not possible lesson learnt, if it can be done could someone tell me how. This is my first Android device so knowledge is limited. Thanks either way Mike
Yes, but you will have to modify your build.prop so it identifies as a supported android device. Find a supported/official android device that has the closest spec to your phone. Also, you will need the google framework (you might as well just flash the ICS gapps from CM, they will work on AOSP roms also)
Yeah, just search the forums. I believe the thread on how to do this is in the Devlopment forums.
Would like to give flashing gapps a try but every post I've read requires Clockwordmod but without play store I am unable to get it as every download site refers back to play store

Many apps dont seem to care as my HP Touchpad shows up with the name cm_tenderloin on Google Play since its unofficial. Its only some games that flag as incompatible. I imagine most other apps just care about Android OS version and processor instruction set (ARM11, ARMv7).

You can try alternative android market's like 1mobile market that might help you find something to help you install the play store
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
Thanks, Managed to get Android Market 3.4.4 working. I then tried to update to Playstore but it wouldn't load, just sat there with a spinning circle saying loading. But I'm happy as it still doe's what I require.

[Q] How to root Huawei G520

Hi,
I've got a Chinese Huawei G520-0000 in Shenzhen. Since I'm back in Europe I want to run Google Play Store and other Google apps. But so far without success.
Here's great thread about how to root the G520. But unfortunately it's not working for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43073790
I installed VROOT and according to my Chinese colleagues who translated what they saw on the screen, the software sucessfully rooted the phone. Just to make sure I've ran the software twice.
Now there is a Chinese "superuser" software installed. I could install the Google playstore. Although I can't read Chinese I know how to "allow" apps like Google Play Store in the superuser software. However, it can't connect. I get a time-out. Google Chrome crashes on app start. G+ doesn't work without Google PlayStore. So, currently I'm at a loss. What to do?
I've googled but the above mentioned thread seems to be the most extensive resource for rooting the G520.
Maybe I looked at the wrong places.
Can somebody pls point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance.
Andy
Resolved
I finally got it working. All the help required is in those forums here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43073790 and

But it takes some getting used to.

Yes dude you can do sideload. Just download the apk from any third party app store, but one more thing the third party app store must be a good portal since downloading system apk from worst websites may be extremely harmful.Hit thanks if helped

You will need root to make it work. You not only need the playstore, but also the google services as system app. Can only be installed with root access.

[Completed] Accidentally deleted Google Play and...

Hello everyone. I rooted my Asus Zenfone 5 (A501CG) for first time. I'm sure the root has done well. Then I tried to load modded Play Store. It didn't get modded, moreover got deleted. OK, this is easy, but other things make it harder:
-After I load play store apk (version 6.0.0 or 6.0.5) again, and trying to download apps it gives "rcp:s-7..." error.
-You're going to say "clear cache" right? And then remove, re-login google account, restart phone. Done it. This time it says "Unfortunately Google Play Stopped Working" (not literal translation, sorry) when i try to download any app.
I tried to copy these into root/data/app with Xplorer and superuser permission. Not solved.
com.android.vending_6.0.5.apk
com.google.android.gms-1.apk
I'm thinking about making it system app again with lucky patcher, and try downloading any app. But I'm not sure that problem is so simple.
I want to have my official google play store with no problems again and unroot my phone and delay this adventure a bit. Can anybody help about play store?
Asus Zenfone 5 (A501CG)

I'm going to follow what you say. I'm a curious newbie, can do whatever expressed step by step.

Hello,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
Mentioning warez like Lucky Patcher or any kind of software that crack/patch paid apps isn't encouraged in XDA.When you cheat a developer, you cheat the community.
Read the Forum Rules once before posting.
Now I'm gonna close this thread. You can ask for support in Zenfone 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting.Make sure you don't post/discuss warez again.
Thanks for understanding

Google Play Uninstalled Problem

1st. I thought I can finally buy and download paid apps from google play if I create and installed the modded app of Play store using Lucky Patcher, so.... I installed and create a modded Playstore using lucky patcher, but then... I'm wrong, It didn't work in that way I want.
2nd. Since I realized that I can't buy paid apps, I want to remove and delete the modded play store remove the patch or whatever the lucky patcher has done to my Google playstore. So what I did.... I uninstalled the Google playstore using lucky patcher then..... BOOM! no more Google Playstore (obviously) :crying: simple as that, but I still have the Google Play Services.
3rd. What I did next believing that this will fix my problem
>>> Search for the possible solutions in google, I searched everything to help me get back the pre-installed/original Google Playstore in my Android Tablet.
Upon searching I saw a solution here from XDA forum someone said that, install updated Google Playstore from the browser. So i did installed it but the problem is: I can't Install apps from google playstore I have downloaded from the browser (Chrome), so what I did next I uninstalled it.
>>> Remove the Root of my Tablet and Factory Reset it........ after that :crying: :crying::crying: I didn't find the playstore obviously It didn't work, It is completely lost, I try to find it in settings > apps...... still no playstore
I've searched and do everything in the internet of what I can do to Fix this , but XDA-Developers is my only choice
Please I'm begging you all to please help me for those who know how to fix this and get back my original Google Playstore

Anyway, fastest solution I can think of is to look around for a custom recovery and flash it. Then look for gapps flashable zip and install it via custom recovery. That should add play store back.

First you need to find out how to install a custom recovery on your device
Second, you should find the gapps.zip file for your specific Android version
Third, flash via your custom recovery and you should be good to go
