This new material update has forced me to change themes and my S4 and Tab S both have lost their deep black backgrounds to a vulgar grey school uniform and I can't stand it
How do I get my beloved black theme back?
Developer PLEASE put the pure black option back in the colour list
As a pro user I want my money back
Firstly, as per Google policy, all Google Play purchases are final after two hours; "buyer beware". https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/134336?hl=en
Second, you're right that a solid black option would be nice. See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/feedback-beta-ui-update-t2985166
Thanks for pushing for an all balck theme.
Thanks for pushing for an all black theme. I just bought the Pro version and would be distressed
if the black theme was not offered. If it ever is removed, I would need to search
for a different player. My eyes hate to be confronted with too bright a screen after watching
a relaxing vid.

I am looking for a theme with a top bar that looks like in this picture: apple silver background with black letters.
I don't want all the other IPhone stuff, just a WM Today Theme with a top bar like this (the colors, not necessarily the icons) and maybe the rest of the Theme similar: "Apple" silver background (or white?) with black letters.
I did look around but only found IPhone themes and all that I don't care for. Thanks very much.
I liked how everything was black and dark on previous android versions (settings, call, messaging, etc..) I don't like the whiteness in the lollipop ui as it may consume more battery life than dark ui.
Suggestions?
Bump
This should actually be possible through the Samsung theme store (look at the Space theme for example). Unfortunately I've yet to find a simple dark theme. The theme store is also a bit of a pain to navigate.
Ha! Just had a look at that theme, and one of the screenshots says "CONACTS" instead of "CONTACTS." Way to go, Samsung quality control!

Hey - I think I can help with this. User Gunthermic was kind enough to upload the Cogul Black theme, which was promised, but never arrived in the theme store. See no. 10 in the following for download and install instructions - http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...e-samsung-stock-s6-themes-collection-t3080847
My first thought was to turn the screen off :-/ don't get much blacker than that.
But I too miss the darkness of such things as CM KitKat u.u
Can anyone recommend a AMOLED inky black themed Note application?
I'm looking for pure glorious black with either white/green text. Just something simple to take notes with. At this point I've run through a mindbogglingly amount of Notes applications on Play/F-Droid and I've hit Dark themes but none with AMOLED black.
I can't be the only one looking for this.
Does anyone have any good horror themes/icons. On the note 5 I was able to download a great icon pack that turned everything into blood splatter (see attached)(called magic Jason eyes) . Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that the theme carried over to the new Samsung theme store... I saw it on atom launcher, but I rather stay stock or go to Nova. The closest horror theme I can find is spider web icons, but they are just okay and the folders are too squared and solid red (kinda throws off the whole round icons). Let me see your horror layout!
(ps. Yes I know I have a lot of apps... IPhone layout has stuck with me.)
Hello
When I purchased my Pixel 2 I used to have a true black theme when using dark wallpapers.
Since upgrading to 8.1 the dark theme is smoked black (a bit translucent). (E.g. I'm now in Tapatalk writing this I pull down the quick settings and I can see this text behind it).
Is this something that really changed in 8.1 or I have a bug or something?
I can't remember if the settings app was black before...but at the moment is light. Same thing with the Google Feed cards, dark wallpaper but white cards.

Not a bug, this is something Google changed in 8.1 - solid black changed to a rather meh slightly transparent black.
You can use Substratum to change it back to a solid black if you want (though a lot of black themes seem to have irritating glitches with at least some notifications, so some trial and error may be needed).
The settings app was always white. You do need to use a 3rd party tool to change that.
I don't use Google Feed, so can't answer that last one.
Thanks. This week I've tried modifying this using the Andromeda and substratum etc. But I didn't liked it because the notifications were also changing the colour etc. But mainly because of the customisation, I'll prefer to keep things as stock as possible.
Anyway thanks for confirming this was an actual change in 8.1!
