[Q] Need help switching root manager app - General Questions and Answers

Hey devs this is my first thread on XDA. I rooted my hp slate 6 voicetab dual sim using baidu root, now I want to switch to Super SU root manager. I'm familiar with rooting and modding, but I never been switching root manager before, also I don't know Chinese so I can't find the cleanup option. I though I should uninstall baidu root then install super su, but I'm not sure about this.

Best way to root a GT540!

I used the Superuser app available in the android market and z4root.
Just install superuser over the system one. This will let u grant root access to z4root . then use z4root to root your phone. i had no problems with this on my GT540 running 2.1.
if you need help please ask.

[Q] changing superuser app in root tool

Hey guys, first off i'm new to XDA. Now here is my question, i've been trying to root my toshiba thrive at100 but the super user app that comes with the root tool ( the dalenet universal root tool ) gives alot of problems. First it wont allow superuser permissions to anything not even to itself so when i try updating the binary, it wont even update. So i am wondering if i changed the superuser apk that was placed in the tool initially in the bin files to another superuser app apk from the market, will this affect the root process? will this cause any problems like bricking my device?

[Completed] is supersu needed 4 rom install?

all these google play apps say : supersu permission needed, but the root features work 100% ok without supersu on my phone(its like my phone automaticly give them permission)
question is does superuser do anything and is it needed for safestrap install of rom(would it work without it?)
Superuser/SuperSU/etc only manages root access. If your device is already rooted and you don't have a root manager, then every app can get root.
The description for SU in the XDA-University dictionary explains it better than I could.

[Completed] Help! Need to switch from one superuser to another

So, It's been a month since I've rooted my phone
I rooted through Kingoapp.com, and it was easy
My OS is Android 4.4.2 KitKat and as the title says,
I want to change from my Kingo Superuser to any other,
Like a normal superuser or SuperSU.. It's because Kingo Superuser
Won't let me use apps like lucky patcher, AdAway etc
I've tried many methods, changing to SuperSU, but its binaries fails
To download, and the other superuser app just sits there, doesn't ask for
Permissions and stuff... That's why I wanna change my superuser app
Any help or effort will be greatly appreciated
Hi
(SuperSU) I suggest you to have a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/support-update-failures-t2907365

[Completed] Cant install v4a, possibly due to partial/incomplete root on vf685 smart kicka

Hi guys. I have a weird problem... I have a vf685 with android 4.4.2
Im trying to install viper audio(v4a) from this site but it fails and says its due to a problem with busy box or my device is not "completely rooted". I am rooted and used several root checker apps to confirm. I have twrp installed as well, xposed modules, root explorers, etc. Everything works fine... Except v4a and also when I open mtk droid tools the square is orange/yellow and it should be green, i have to first click to get root permission. I used king root(not kingo root) to root it, its the only one that seems to work on this phone, I didn't like the superuser app from kingroot so I searched google and found a zip file to replace kinguser with SuperSU and installed with terminal emulator. Is my device only partially rooted (if that's possible) or if not what else could it be?
P.S. its not a problem with busybox, although busybox is installed to /system/bin. Not to /system/xbin
Please help!
